Best Bang for Buck Kettle VS Fellow Stagg and Hario Buono
Man, you did such a great job on this review! This is the first video of yours that I have watched, but I really appreciate it how you went so in depth into the burrs, and how to get the flavor out of the coffee from this grinder and burr set, that you like. I have the X pro. I am curious if you have used it, and how you would compare it to the pour over bur set from the Kinu.
I love the part where he said the price.
Do you not find when get to 4.0.0 it takes much much longer to grind than 3.6.0-3.8.0? Seems to take twice as long and big chunks get stuck in the burr
1:28 this is not for beans, this is place for handle. Same as coverage is to separate handle from body of grinder
What is a boomer shot in the context of coffee, and how does it differ from a traditional espresso or an Americano?
Probably most likely the double shot espresso which is 1:2 ratio. An Americano is Double Shot Espresso + Water.
Grinder is most important part of making a good shot
What grinder does this guy use?
Use a smart plug to turn on ur machine remotely
Been enjoying serving coffees for friends and family ever since i bought this machine from you in August 2024, Kyle!! Thanks again! The machine is compact, stable temps once preheated well (20 mins), very powerful steam wand, amazing pre-infusion feature & enp/flowrate feature, and most especially low noise operation. Was also able to easily change the steam wand knob to a switch valve i got from Brewspire.
Thanks for the great feedback! :D
I had searched up 155 filters because I had just received my Xbloom and had no interest in buying their pods. I bought this dripper on a whim when Amazon randomly (well, algorithmically, I suppose) showed it to me as part of the filter search: I thought it was pretty, and I didn't have a flat bottomed dripper (Xbloom notwithstanding). I don't use it frequently, but i always enjoy when I do. Running across this video months later makes me feel like every once in a while, the various algorithms do something right.
What is up my brother❤
Can you use a paper filter with a metal filter together with this aeropress flow control?
traditional horchata rice in Mexico is just rice + mexican cinnamon, no other sweeteners, because it is as drink you have with food, and we don't like to mix salty and sweet flavors.
Hello, The Coffee Farmer. I am Martin Roy, a commercial Coffee farmer from Uganda 🇺🇬. Would you kindly permit me to visit their farm, in the future so I my build my knowledge on post harvest handling of robusta coffee? 01:39 East African Standard Time.
Does this work well even now ?
ich brühe mit 92 Grad und habe keine Probleme mit der Säure. Das Wasser berührt durch die Papierform nicht einmal den Filterhalter und wird somit auch nicht abgekühlt.
so which one better??? wtf
At 30 micron for espresso, do you feel like there is room for lighter roasts or decaf? Thanks + cheers!
So 70-70-60 for 3 pour recipe and each time had 45 sec rest between them? As I didn’t see it specify in the vid

what does 'taste more elegant' mean?
Can anaerobic coffee only be done at the farm or can it also be done with imported green beans?
What your summary basically are people talk about 4 years ago, meaning not peak performance with either acidity nor sweetness that's why people call it a bit dull, probably good for you preference, maybe not to others... it's common thing in coffee world. But all of those 3 Grinders M47, C40, ZP6 &. M47 POB have different character profile...
I put pob in kingrinder k2. Video in my profile
Yeah when I first installed this burr I felt the same way and absolutely loved the brews. I've been exclusively using it for filter for about 2 years now and it's more flexible than it's given credit for as a general purpose burr. I dailied it in a Kinu with the older 1st generation PoB for about a year, and then I got lazy and bought a DM47 for about $200 total with the newer one and have been using it ever since. I really shilled it hard on EAF and the advice I gave was to dial in reverse, if the brews are a bit dull I'd tell folks to adjust coarser and shorter like you said. Nowadays, I think dial it in like a normal burr. Coarser = more acidity and flavor sep, less intensity while finer = sweetness but the feedback on dialing is more subtle. I think that actually makes it a bit harder to dial in vs a Comandante or ZP6, which gives very stark feedback between grind settings of being more obviously being too sour or too bitter. I live in an area where there is a lot of enthusiasts so I've compared it directly to almost everything out there, and usually what I find is that I can dial coarser and shorter to get the flavor separation and acidity intensity that is comparable to almost anything, but the inherent characteristic to the burr itself is that brews are a bit less acidic but they taste "riper", whereas my favorite SSP sets on filter have a similar structure, but they amp of acidity but the aroma is a bit less ripe. I'm in the 3.4 range on the older set with the wide prebreakers, and a bit coarser on the newer set with the thin feeding teeth. I'm pouring currently pouring 4x but I think you can make almost any pouring structure work with ratio and grind size adjustments. On espresso I don't really love it or hate it in particular but the DM47 retains so little that it's a legitimate dual purpose grinder for $200 which is pretty cool
Where did you learn English from? It's totally screwed up. You have no business posting a video in English when your English is that bad. Stick to your language...whatever that may be. .Don't be so arrogant.
I have the stainless steel version tsubame. i bought it because it looked beautiful and was not sure how often i would use it. Using this recipe (mainly version 1) with a tea like bean and it is one of my go to brews. Love it
You should try the grinder at 5.2 or more with the Hario Switch for an immersion-type brew. The recipe that seems to be working excellently for me is 20g/280ml; 1st pour 140ml, close Swtich at 25sec, 2nd pour 140ml, open Switch at 2 min mark. It's a recipe I found on TH-cam from The Coffee Chronicler
Have you had the chance to test the Pietro? If so, how would say it compares to both ZP6 and Kinu PoB? Great video, thanks for sharing your experience!
Thanks for the insightful review! I'm currently exploring the Pob Burr and would appreciate your thoughts on how it compares to the ZP6. My primary focus is on a filter grinder, as I mostly enjoy light roast coffee brewed with a V60 and drip assist. I prefer lighter roasts that are juicy, fruity, and bright. While I understand that certain coffees may perform better with specific grinders, if you had to choose just one, which would you recommend?
I'm planning to get the pour over burr to make cold brew and french press to get less fines.
Sir, anong size po nhnvy nut na nag se secure sa Burr? Is it 8mm, 10mm?
Most of this information, while not technically incorrect, it’s misleading. Warm up time, this is just a blatant lie when you don’t talk about machines that warm up in 10 minutes. Taste at home is miles ahead of Starbucks. Joy in making it yourself is a positive. No one buys a machine to save money. It’s enjoyable. In general I think this video misses the mark.
I have a Kinu POB in the new Titan, a Kinu simplicity with standard burr, a ZP6 and a Zerno with SSP MP/HU/LS2.5 and the Kinu POB is alway the one I come back to for brewing coffee. I like to updose a bit from the trendy 15:250, 12:200 etc. So I do 16.5:250, 95-96C for light stuff, nothing more to keep the acidity perception high. -50g bloom + tiny bit of WWDT to saturate evenly -2nd pour up to 1:10 ratio (so in that case up to 165g), inspired by Denis Sabou -3rd pour very low agitation up to desired ratio (melodrip or any drip assist like Gabi B). -Grind size I use is around 3.2.0 - 3.5.0 Hope you try this one!
This recipe shines with natural coffees!
@@AnOtterCoffee fab to see you on this review also and great that there’s a comparison to the brew burrs on the Zerno which I’d never think of getting. I’ve got the cv3 on the way and will definitely pick up the pob for my pour over now!
Do you know if the difference between an EK43 is dramatically different than the Bentwood?
Might this type of cafec filter on origami dripper since its is a fast dripper as well. And thanks for introducing the tritan cafec dripper.
Only a few Filipinos use Kinu, hoping after this video alot of people consider Kinu.
Will the burr work with the Mischief Mini Electric Grinder?
Thanks for your review ! Really well made, a lot of relevant informations. I have the Kinu M47, I use it for espresso and turkish, but I have planned to purchase POB. It's the gold fusion avalaible in my area. For Pour Over, I use KinGrinder K6, but I want to try a different flavor profile and the build quality of the Kinu is awesome. The user experience is more pleasant with the Kinu than the KinGrinder.
Thank you for watching and glad it was helpful to you!
Been through a similar journey. Commandante C40 - Kinu - ZP6 - Kinu POB Still exploring possibilities with POB. It’s a tricky grinder to dial in and not super forgiving. The problem with pairing Kinu POB with April is that both the grinder and dripper are geared towards flavor transparency. Which can result in cup that’s very harmonious and analytical but can feel watery/weak/muted. Especially in the competition context where sometimes gentle and nuanced cups are perceived to be flat because of palate fatigue. Currently, I have 2 approaches for April: 1. Kinu OG burr medium-fine grind + sitarist fast flat to highlight mids and bass notes, get that sugary sweetness and texture. Apax lab Tonic/Lotus bright and juicy recipes to highlight treble. 2. Kinu POB burr or ZP6 coarse grind to highlight clarity and treble. Kalita/April filter for longer contact time, and Apax lab jam or Lotus sweet recipe for bass and texture. Depends on the type of coffee and what you want to highlight, but I look for contrasting combinations to bring out balance while still keeping the cup exciting.
Hello, thank you for sharing your thoughts. I agree with you that in a competition setting, lower intensity and nuanced cups may not perform as well due to judges experiencing palate fatigue. Very insightful! I think pairing Kinu POB + April still makes sense but it would be helpful to decrease the ratio to around 1:13-14 in order to increase flavor intensity whilst still retaining body / texture. Highly agree with looking for contrasting combinations! I like pairing slow drippers with faster flowing filter papers and vice versa. What combinations do you enjoy using?
@wideawakeph3662 I agree with you. Will play around with shorter ratios for POB. Lately I have been enjoying cups with stock Kinu burr and sibarist fast filter for April. I compensate for the lack of sharpness and treble with water. But since sibarist filters are expensive, I end up using kalita filters with ZP6/Kinu POB on most days.
Compared to Mischief, is this better only for pourover?
I prefer pour overs with the Kinu POB. But having the mischief would be nice as well. Having different tools in the toolbox to get different flavor outcomes is very, very fun!
I put the Kinu POB in a Turin DM47 electric grinder and I love it. It grinds fine enough for espresso in the DM47 as well, although I'm not sure it's the best at espresso
Would love to try that combo out myself!
I think you are right about that, I have been running the same and have been using it for espresso - I am mostly getting a similar experience to using the SSP MP burrs for espresso - to intense and not great - ill prob switch back to the Turin stock burr and save the brew burr for my Kinu.
Yay another PoB fan! Note the version you have is different from the initial version that is slow at fine settings.
Yes I realized later on that I had V2! V1 was phased out fairly quickly due to the complaints that Kinu received about it
11:44 base on your statement about brewing ratio, what is your recomendation handgrinder for 1 to 17 or 18 ratio sir?
In my experience, ZP6 would be good for that
Hi interesting to see this mini grinder. Do you think better to upgrade from their hand grinder? But I do wonder how this grinder perform vs starseeker e55. Look almost the same. Appreciate your input. Thanks.
I haven't tried the starseeker E55. But if you plan to do any espresso, then this is worth upgrading to from their hand grinder just for the sake on convenience
How's the shipping po directly from Taiwan? have you paid customs duties?
This or fellow ode gen 2? Pour over only

@wideawakeph3662 thank you!
