- Today we pit the ZP6 against the ever-popular Comandante grinder! From workflow and weight to grind quality, we examine every aspect of these grinders to see what sets them apart. Do you have other grinders you think we should try? Comment them below!

TL;DR - Both are worth purchasing at its relative price point. ZP6 delivers better performance-to-price ratio, whereas with Comandante you get a better sense of belonging given its length of existence in the scene (not to take away the greatness it has, which has set the standard for the hand grinder category), which translates to better translation of recipes all over the web.
Also worth noting is that the difference between the two cannot be easily detected unless you have both grinders to do the actual comparison. Isolated, I feel that the quality of the cups is high enough that it will be hard to generate any nitpicks. Also, you would have to know your coffee well enough to know its benchmarks for you to make a conclusive comparison.
Overall, good video!
Please do a video showing how to clean and then recalibrate these hand held grinders.
Good video on these 2 grinders. Have you guys considered reviewing the x-pro since zp6 has been off production?
Thank you! We'll see if we can get one for testing :)
zp6 is back in stock on their website 😊
would love to see x-pro review also
Hi there, what grind setting u using for the zp6?
Thank you for fulfilling my request ❤
So does clarity means more acidity? Coz I have c40 and I love that moderate acidity and nice sweetness of it .. I don’t want to sacrifice that sweetness in cup
Yes! Guess that means you prefer how the C40 presents coffee :D
If you haven't done already, please consider reviewing Eureka Baby hand grinder.
One question - specific to filter/drip coffee, is hand grinder more consistent and provides uniform grind size versus electric e.g Eureka Mignon Brew versions?
Beautiful review!
how does the ZP6 fare against Kinu m47? also have you tried out m47 filter burrs?
For filter, even with their filter burrs, Kinu M47 is so below Comandante and ZP6 or K-Plus. I have all, especially have had Kinu and Comandante for years. If you do espresso go for it, but pourover? Kinu is not even close. I switch between the others, but never reach for the Kinu anymore. Nothing close to satisfying. Between the K-Plus and the C40, with optimal grind setup, blind testing they are very very close. I recognize the Kinu M47 every single time. And not for good reasons.
Hi is there by any chance you can review K ultra against c40? Cause there's no more zp6 to buy at the market
Will try our best to get a K ultra!
@@wideawakeph3662 appreciate it so much
ZP6 is back in stock as of now
Waiting for this too
What is the "PH' part of your site name? Where are you located? Thank you for the review.
PH = Philippines where we are based :)
Commandante is still
Supreme
how many clicks for comandante?
What setting would you recommend for the zp6? I use a v60
I'm usually grinding at 4.0 for a 13-14g dose. So somewhere between 3.8 to 4.2 if our grinders are calibrated similarly
How about k max vs zp6?
That would be fun! We'll see if we can get a kmax for testing
Zp6 is available again
for budget, get the timemore, for high end, just get the c40, don't waste money on anything else, it's what the pros perfer
the last "World Brewers Cup" champion used a ZP6 in the competition...
FYI ZP6 has become the top pick since its release and know of many pros that switched and ain't going back to the C40. And I'm not saying that C40 ain't an absolutely stellar grinder, but ZP6 does much better in certain aspects
@@bryanssj3949 for my first hand grinder is 1zpresso Zp6 special good for newbie ?
C40 is out meta since 1Z presso release more production.
I could never support an unscrupulous company like 1zpresso.
That's a strong accusations, care to share the reason/story behind it?
@@ming19910802 There's already litigation going on in Europe over the handle design. Apparently Commandante has a patent on it. Also, to my eye, it's clear that the K-series stole the Commandante burr design.
