I've always preferred the Folktails to the Iron Teeth because I can't stand breeding pods, the only thing that annoys me with Folktails is no options for infinite, reliable power. No engines, no bad water domes that keep them open during droughts. Loving this series by the way, these are some great relaxing videos.
Thanks so much! Yea this map has been particularly difficult given the sparse amount of starting metal you get and the lack of consistent power haha. But we're getting there!

You can remove tree stumps without beavers, using the beavers that far away from home is silly. Lay down and delete dynamite, roads or levies. The stumps will go away.

Yea, I know...I don't like huge wind farms, but I'll be adding them in where it makes sense. This is gonna be a long build haha, so it'll take time

Like your videos as always, have some suggestions. But as always it's your game play how you want, I'll keep watching. Good that you're getting bots but you have some serious issues with your supply side, you need way more forest to get decent bot numbers, as well as making sure you have enough energy throughout all seasons. Water is becoming a serious issue and there is some issue in your main water resevoir I assume with your sluice gates, you need to expand this so you have water throughout the whole drought/badtide. Don't use spadderdock as your biofuel, it's very innefficient. Get a potato farm, one 7x7 potato farm with a beehive should be enough per assembler. You ignore way too much green space in the name of "looks". You don't need two aquatic farms. I have one aquatic farm for my colony of 300+ beavers and it has about 30 squares of both cattails and spadderdock. That green space can be used for more trees/logs which you're desperately going to need if you want to have 100+ bots. Something I always do early/mid game is have my industrial area on top of water throughways since it's dead space, that gives more room for irrigation/crops and trees.
Yeah the sluice gate is the main issue there in the main reservoir, it's capping the water level and the reservoir it's never full.
Appreciate the detailed comment! Totally get the forest/lumber issue as well as the water. They're both something I address in the next episode or two. I ended up moving my water pump over closer to the reservoir and closed it off so the reservoir isn't trying to supply the entire map haha. I get that my playstyle is on the slower side...I'm not really an optimizer, I just prefer to mostly tinker around and play with ideas. The potato farm is a good idea too, definitely something I can tackle in an upcoming episode! Thanks again :)
@@Fuzz-Brain No I'm not the most optimized player either, and believe me I also play at a slow pace, I just thought I'd share some advice. The thing about the map your're playing is it's almost an optimal map for the Iron Teeth as they have more flexibility with badwater, it's definitely a difficult map to play as the folktails.

I don't know why you closed your bad water with that building. Why not make a dome, keep the badwater flowing forever into your power system? you basically killed your industry.
The Folktail faction doesn't have the same badwater dome as the Ironteeth - it only caps it, it doesn't continually pull it out of the ground, unfortunately.
omg i love it. i normaly am i clean person you know acting like the world never ended so im more into pre war looking things. But i do find my self looking at scrap camps so this one is crazy love it. also no atom shop as someone who only spends on 76 sometimes like couple atoms here and there but not massive ones only with sales ect. what i like how you didn't make it feel like for this you gotta pay $100 for this instead you could spend but you don't have to. :D

You should connect the new industry directly to the new district, it's way too far from their houses currently. Maybe add some water and food storage next to the barracks in the new district. They need to eat/drink before and after work. You paused your mine and ran out of scrap.
Yep! I end up connecting everything in the next episode. Definitely need to be better about making sure water and food is everywhere for the beavers.

I'm confused as too why you say you can delete your pipe, don't you need it to keep bad water out of the reservoir during bad tides?

In my head I was thinking I could just cap it, which would keep it all inside...but I realized it wouldn't work because it would take forever for the badwater to dilute enough for the good water to come out in time.
Slowly but surely. Crazy to see how much the badwater is now under control compared to the first few sessions.

Would like it if your storages were facing your industries. Travel time is everything in this game, the less your beavers need to travel the more they can get done. Instead of just crossing the road they have to go all the way around which looks about 5x the travel distance. Your beavers are often thirsty and I can see even passing out because of how far they have to travel.
Yea, good points! I'm an episode or two ahead, but I think flipping the storages around is a good idea I can tackle next time.

Does the beehive do anything? I mean yeah, it speeds up your crops by quite a lot.
I find it very useful for all crops, and wheat is a great crop it works with.

Love the series specially how you're trying to work with the map and incorporate megabuilds in the map itself. The large reservoir seems to fit in well and isn't out of place.

Is the bad language really required?
I like the badwater pipe thru the reservoir. Using what the map makers gave you and not resorting to creating a monstrosity for water storage.
Thanks! It's more limiting in that sense, but I don't mind a long, chill playthrough. There's no rush to get somewhere lol.
Without making new districts you can make colonys in different place . you can add builder hut and log storage for firsrer build. And it doesn't make your map ugly and complicated
Hmm, interesting. How would I make sure that beavers half the map away aren't assigned to jobs on the other side of the map? I don't see a way of making sure they stay put other than districts.
What's your plan for gravity batteries? Their pretty important for the Folktails
Good question! I'm going to be adding them within some of the mountains and at the top of the map to keep them fairly hidden. I'm not a huge fan of those giant skyscraper looking battery structures...trying to keep it pretty realistic (he says in a game about beavers lol)

That's gonna be pretty tough for this map. The beavers will start to get exhausted all the time if they have to go too far. Food and water I can handle, but if their house is half a map away, it's not gonna be cool.

Do you mean the stairs leading up to the loft above the bedroom? Those are the scaffolding stairs and they can go pretty much anywhere, they don't need to snap to anything, although they CAN snap to the scaffolding pieces.

I'm the creator of the map and it's an honor to see people enjoying it! Awesome stuff! At least I'm not the only one to forget the water pump too, I have done that so many times and did it with my own map too. You even did the same exact strategy I did with a dam and sealing off the badwater on the left side, and creating a pool in the river. I somewhat made the metal somewhat tight yeah, at least it's doable, but I must admit I made it a bit too scarce. Sadly one thing I didn't get to add in is alternative starts for this map, it was made right before they added them but after the workshop beta was announced. Sad!
