Discovering Hidden WW2 Relics in the German Hürtgen Forest!
This time, we took a trip to Germany to explore the historic Hürtgen Forest. With our metal detectors in hand, we were eager to see if any traces of World War II remained beneath the soil. It didn’t take long before we made some incredible finds!
The Battle of Hürtgen Forest (German: Schlacht im Hürtgenwald) was a grueling series of battles between American and German forces from 19 September to 16 December 1944. The battle occurred on German soil, in a 140 km² forest located about 5 km east of the Belgian-German border. This was the longest battle fought by the U.S. Army in World War II, leaving its mark on the landscape.

We obtained permission to search on private land owned by an acquaintance, and we encourage others to follow local regulations. Digging without permits could lead to serious consequences. Additionally, all holes dug were carefully refilled, leaving nature undisturbed after our visit.

Don't you just love the type of people (Caucasianally challenged persuasion) who put their disgusting graffiti on sacred places & symbolic monuments. I deliberately disrespect these type of people whenever possible because of this. Others will say you can't judge everyone but those types of people know that it's true & they can't dispute it so they say generic shit like that. Stop perpetuating the lifestyle, you don't have to play make believe & dumb yourself down just because you live in Detroit. Lol
Disrespecting sacred places is unacceptable-these sites deserve preservation and respect
When the second Rangers assaulted pointe du hoc Leonard Bud Lomell was a First Sergeant leading a platoon then afterwards was promoted to lieutenant. He is featured in The Greatest Generation explaining what happened on DDay.
Thanks for sharing! Leonard Bud Lomell's leadership at Pointe du Hoc was incredible. His story in The Greatest Generation truly captures the bravery of D-Day
Prachtige vondsten!! Proficiat
Dank je wel! 😊

nice finds. cool to see the grenade just laying there on the surface. beautiful and interesting finds. You always explain everything neatly and well and include a nice original image film. keep it up. I can't wait for the next video 🙌🏻🔥🙌🏻
Glad you enjoyed it

Thanks! Reading Karl Laun's diary sounds fascinating. Glad I could share more about Herr Peiper and his battlegroup!

This totally shows that British-Canada was totally an MVP & mastered of the jungle warfare and they were just better at it against the German in Reichwald Forest. Whereas the 12th Infantry of US army failed in Hurtgenwald Forest
Thanks for your comment! The British-Canadian forces really proved themselves in the Reichwald Forest. The US 12th Infantry had a tough time in the Hürtgenwald, showing how difficult those battles were
@@AfterWarDiggers even in the Eastern Front, on the other hand, the Soviet would avoid a battle in forest and find an alternate route to breakthrough the German line and reached Berlin as long as possible because they knew, fighting in the forest would be pain in the ass. Meanwhile British-Canada, I love how they just don't give a F about the thick forest in German and they just went full blast with their fire power to penetrated the Germany line in a forest. I think British Empire as a whole were a true MVP and unsung hero of WW2 that mastered all kind of war element such as jungle warfare insurgency, Air superiority by the RAF and Sea power by Royal Navy. I knew, the day British won Battle of Britain, the Western Front would got redeemed from the Axis.
Pretty much. In Hurtgen, the US suffered with 55000 casualties and 28000 casualties for the German. The battle was overshadowed by the Operation Market Garden disaster and then got erased by the Battle of the Bulge counterpart. However, I would say the Battle of Reichwald Forest (Operation Veritable) was even too often overlooked in the late of the war in Western front and it was overshadowed by the Operation Blockbuster and Operation Lumberjack (battle for Remagen Bridge). The reichwald forest battle was totally opposite result to what Hurtgen Forest was. British-Canada lost 12000 men while the German lost 44000 men. Yup, British Canada went ultimate insurgency blast in this one and totally crushed the German defense in Reichwald.
I used to undo uxo in that forest i found some us spirits too and jesus came and took em to heaven
Never forget 🙌🏻
It was a big mistake only by the arrogance of Montgomery
Interessanterweise wurde Highland Cathedral von Deutschen komponiert.
Should never forget!!!

Erg leuke Hurtgen vondsten.
Any rules on keeping your finds? I'm in the states and it's illegal to hunt National Battlefield Parks. Permission sites are fine and we get to keep the finds. I'm just curious as to how detecting is viewed in Germany. Thanks.
it is in fact illegal what they show in their videos. Hurtgenwald is a no-go area for metal detectorists, even private properties. It's all government controlled. When they say, they report found uxo to the authorities, they are just saying bullshit.
Thanks for your response! The search in the USA sounds very interesting. In Germany, you can usually keep your finds, except for dangerous items, which you should never take with you. Searching on battlefields is generally allowed, but it can depend on the specific location and the country you're searching in.
@@AfterWarDiggers you're welcome. We find artillery shells and cannon balls along with other Civil War relics and we can keep those but will take the shells and get them de-fused. The archies or law enforcement will have them destroyed if they find them. That's cool you can hunt the battlefield sites. I'd have a blast hunting those sites! My dad and grandad were over there WW1/WW2. Good luck hunting.
If it had worked, it would have ended the war 9 months earlier saving countless lives on both sides. The Movie was titled 'A Bridge Too Far'. It was also featured in 'Band of Brothers'. General Patten personally commanded the Tank Corp that relieved the Paratroopers who could only be resupply by air.
Thanks for your comment! If Market Garden had worked, it could have ended the war much earlier, saving many lives. "A Bridge Too Far" and "Band of Brothers" both show the scale of that operation well. And yes, Patton played a big role in other key battles, especially helping relieve the paratroopers. Appreciate it!
Thank you to all men and women who have served in American and our allied forces.
certainly something we should never forget. These men came from far away to give us our freedom and gave their lives for it. Now 80 years later, thanks to their efforts and sacrifice, we can live in freedom. these heroes should never be forgotten 🙌🏻🌹
Absolutely, something we should never forget. These brave men traveled from far away to give us our freedom, many sacrificing their lives for it. Now, 80 years later, we live in freedom thanks to their courage and sacrifice. These heroes must always be remembered.

Super video. I must go there and have a look. It’s only 2 1/2 hours drive from where I live.
Thanks! Definitely worth the trip. Hope you get the chance to explore it soon!
Thanks guys. Just found your channel. Nicely put together. I like the pictures showing how the product would have looked when in use. Keep up the good work. I also detect in Germany but with not such great finds as yours.
Thanks for the kind words! Glad you enjoyed the content. Keep detecting in Germany - you never know what amazing finds are out there!
Many trash.. but also interesting and cool finds... Keep it going.. digging and posting... we are here to support you bro! Cheers!
Thanks for the support! Yeah, sometimes the trash is part of the journey, but those cool finds make it all worth it!
You have to be careful , in the Hürtgeforrest will be Glas Mines they still in takt!!! It is striktly forbidden if the Forest guard catch you , have to pay up to 20000€ ! And close your holens after digging!
the laws are fundamentally different to the Netherlands!
Be careful guyz!
