You did mention that in order to clean out pet hair, you need to take out the front cover. Can you do a video on that? It is probably simple but it’ll be helpful to show the amount of pet hair accumulated and how to clean it out.
Hi, so if I use this long tube, I can just apply the oil with the belt in place without loosening it? Thanks for the video. It is very helpful
I love you so much stranger!!!!! My mom and I want to get a walking treadmill. She works in a car all day and just wants something she can walk with for 30 minutes. I work from my desk all day. I almost pulled the trigger on walkingpad for almost $800. A million thank yous!!!
Fantastic! I'm glad you didn't get WalkingPad, people who almost pull trigger there make my heart skip
thanks so much for this video, im convinced
This info wasn't even in my manual, and I didn't have high hopes when I found your video. But I did what you said and wow--- THIS WORKED PERFECTLY!!! It's perfectly centered now! Thank you.
Ploppy Gimble style bearings full axis with a big ball would be a cool
I want to try a trackball for gaming but i need a wireless mouse.. do you have any recommendations?
Now that's a conundrum. All the dynamic bearing mice are wired (don't know why). If you're willing to do DIY, you can roll Elecom Huge and replace the bearings
@lefnire Thanks for the reply... I don't know anything about replacing bearings..Have you tried the logitech MX Ergo PLUS?.. bigger ball and bigger mouse. Or ProtoArc EM03 Wireless Trackball? Hope you make more trackball videos. I would like to hear your input
Excellent work thank you. 40+ miles a week for 12 weeks on a Urevo spacewalk2 and it's broken. $170 down, but I learned I love it. I'll be getting the egofit thanks to you.
@@austinthomas6405 Urevo 3s is a good one too. Those no-incline spacewalks are darn decent disposables
I think the debate of slimblade vs expert mouse (imo0 comes down largely to personal prerference. I've used both and they are equally great trackballs, however I( personally) prefer the expert mouse due to the feedback from the scroll ring, But as I said, new users should try BOTH and see which works best for them and their budget.
ploopy is that good? I thought ppl just like it cause it's DIY, I'm using my damn logiteck like a dumbass
@EdLrandom I thought that too. Figured they were over hyping it because of the open source. Since it's 3d printed (you can buy it fully built), I assumed it was poor quality. So I was very surprised by the parts (bearings, sensor, switches, etc)
I'd love a Slimblade pro with isolated button tops and rolling bearings (round like the gameball, rather than linear like the ploopy). I like to rest my palm and would like a bit better humped palm area on it too.
I got the Ergofit M2 in the mail today, plugged it in and the red light turned on by the plug. Batteries (AAA) are in the remote. But it doesn't turn on.. am I not understanding something super obvious? Do you have to do anything in particular to get it to start? I tried the re-pairing with the remote, and replaced the batteries but nada..
I can't think of anything, I definitely didn't hit any hurdles turning it on for the first time. I wonder if you got a controller dud? I'd contact customer support, they're pretty responsive
@@lefnire Contacted, turns out there was a loose wire in the machine. They had me open it up, push down on a wire into the motherboard, then it worked. Felt weird doing it cause I was afraid I'd break it, but hey it worked. Leaving this note in case someone experiences the same thing as me.
Jist got my gameball today and you wete right about the moving the cursor while clicking. I guess the adept is a better choice.
Do I use the whole small vile provided initially when first get it? I wasn't sure how much of vile to use. I don't think I applied enough, I still have lubricant left in the small vile.
No, I use a large vial with a huge long tube applicator. The small vial just can't get where it needs to go. Unfortunately the links I've used in my resources now point to a small vial, I can't find the original
@@lefnire ty!
What is the lube made of?
Silicone something something
@lefnire lol ty! 😂
Tyler, can you provide the link for the applicator you used? This is the absolute best tutorial on how to do this, thank you, thank you thank you!

@@lisac5122 Hey, did you find a good applicator? Would appreciate the link. Thanks
Thanks for the video. I have used Logitch Marble Mouse for like 20 years.. I am used to scrolling by holding on to the scrollbar and spin the ball or on web apps use middle mouse click to activate scroll pan. I tried a logitech trackball that had a scroll wheel but it felt so unnatural to not use the ball to scroll when you have it there all available. :) Probably is going to try the addept after your review video and if necessary find a way to 3d-print a palm rest.
Obviously.. not the same Logitech Marble Trackball mouse as the durability of that one isn't great... And it is now discontinued and it will only be so long while it is still available at Ebay etc.
It worked!!? Thanks so much!
"bigger balls are better" - size matters :)
I think the gameball is better for movement based fps games or any fps. The scroll whell function of the adept is not practical in apex where you air strafe alot. Having a dedicated scoll is a must in my opinion in fps gaming. As of now if you are a dedicated gamer aiming for the higher ranks , gameball is much better.
Gameball 2.0 / pro is going to be the cats meow
Does the Ergofit M2 come with the remote to control the speed? I see on the website you can buy a remote.. which makes me wonder is it a separate thing.
It comes with one, indeed. Those are there in case you lose / break it.
@@lefnire Okay great thanks! I couldn't really confirm it on the website or in the pictures. But I assumed so
I get it centered then when walk on it it still drifts to the right.
Would you be able to do a video on how easy or difficult it is to clean the bearings of the the Adept? I have the slimblade pro which is super easy to clean, I haven't seen any info on cleaning the Adept. Thanks.
I'll add this to my list, but may be some time. I'm 6mo in, very long working hours, took about 4 months before I had to clean it (the ball starts skipping, like there's a rock in there or something). I don't know how to, or if it's needed, to clean inside the bearings. Instead I just scrape off (with my fingernail) the gunk that accumulates on the outer surface of the bearings. The flat part that you see.
@ Got it. I don’t think it’s necessary to clean inside the bearings. Scraping the gunk off is probably all thats needed. I just wasn’t sure if the bearings needed to be removed first or if it was enough to just scrape them.
I've tried working on mine in this way but mine continues to drift every time I walk on it
Thanks for all the mouse reviews Tyler. I just made an additional order for the Ploopy Classic and the Adept after the 1st Ploopy Mini which hasn't even arrived. At this point, any trackball that feels best on my wrist is appreciated. Sustaining less stress isn't even a question anymore.
audio balance when gaming could use some work
For sure. Sorry about that
Kensington's Pro Fit Ergo Vertical Trackball is legitimately the most ergonomic trackball ever; you literally can just rest your hand vertically near it and everything is well within your reach with almost no wrist or hand movement. Also if you aren't using thumb AND index finger on thumb trackballs in a loose "OK" position you're doing it wrong.
Thank you for explaining your thoughts and experience, it's very insightful.
Amazing video quality, love it!
@@Peteriscool97 sorry about the gaming loudness 😅
@@lefnire No worries! First part of the video and the reviews was mostly what I was looking for personally. :)
Thank you so much for this video!!!! ❤🎉
I'm thinking about trying the Ploopy Mini, the smaller version of the Classic. Bought a ProtoArc Trackpad but my wrist still hurts, so the Adapt might not work for me.
My intuition and experience says that wedge trackballs (eg Adept) are more ergonomic than trackpads. But I don't have enough data for that, even just from comments in the forums I follow - so take that with a grain of salt (and you don't want to make a big purchase on an intuition). So the Mini or Classic would be great for you. I have a sneaking suspicion they're working on a refreshed Classic. There's also GameBall 2.0 theorized for December, and judging by that company's wisdom and the designs I've seen, I think that will be the winner
@@lefnire Thanks for your info Tyler. I just ordered the Mini. Might even try the GameBall 2.0 whenever it comes out. I've tried 8 ergo mice from different brands, but none of them has relieved me from RSI. At this point, I'm willing to try anything. Miss my Logitech Marble FX.
Thank you so much the video. Especially for the keyboard stands. I have two macro boards (left and right, Ortholinear layout, Gateron yellow and boba gum switches) and since I saw your video I finally will mod them with your stands idea. 🎉
Best video and explanation, thank you
I got the king smith walkingpad C2 and that shit only lasted 4 days and it’s dead . Doesn’t even turn on anymore . An absolute piece of junk . You are definitely paying for the aesthetic not reliability
Kingsmith is the same brand as WalkingPad (I still haven't figured out the two-brand-name thingy... whitelabel?) Anyway, WalkingPad and GoPlus are the two I recommend *the least*, from my research. WalkingPad in particular got a jump on SEO with the name; and GoPlus was a first-to-bat, so they're super popular, but super low quality. I recommend Urevo & Egofit
so true with the elecom. i got one. great design and all...not useable. always jumps when moving because of the grip. watched a video on how to replace the bearings, but not sure if a do it. it's gathering dust
I'm on the vertical mouse stage on healing my RSI healing journey and now I'm looking for a trackball mouse so the intro is really hitting home for me.
I do really like your video. I am so sorry that you have never learned how to use a mouse the correct way. I have used mouse all from the first Macintosh mouse, pc ball mouse and up until today and I have luckily never gotten even tried in my hand, even after 12-14 hours. The trick is to configure the mouse so you almost use it as a large trackball. Your wrist and arm is relaxing on the table and only your two fingers are moving the mouse. If you need more space than half a playing card, are you using it wrong. :-)
by definition, something that is ambidextrous can't be ergonomic.
@@laughingvampire7555 Ploopy Adept is the way
Really? Is this from personal experience with the Slim Blade? The presenter said his RSI disappeared. Notice how the ball and the button plates have no left-right orientation? As the presenter said, you can easily use the Slim Blade on either the right or left side. Being able to actuate the buttons many different ways with different fingers allows avoiding 100% repetitive motion. Buttons on the side of a trackball mean having to squeeze your fingers and hand inwards. That is not a natural finger hand movement and causes tightness. One downside is that my cat finds it easy to push the buttons also. The kitty has no RSI. The ball being the scroll wheel is a miraculous experience. Again, many different finger movements can be used. Of course, all finger trackballs give the option of using different finger and hand movements. Ands what does RSI stand for?
Great review/comparison - thank you.
I appreciate all of your vids
I have thumb pains too, tried that mx ergo - I could see how amazing it'd be if I only had wrist issues
Any suggestions would be appreciated. My Slimblade Pro just started squeaking most notably when using the scrolling feature and I wiped it down with 99% alcohol thinking that it was dirty. It became even more sticky and squeaky.
When it squeaks, it's building stiction from gunk on the bearings (dead skin, dust, debris, etc). You should remove the ball and wipe out the gunk off each bearing (just use your finger - or you can use a little brush / cloth). Many say oil is better, rather than worse, for static bearings; so you never need to clean the ball, just remove the gunk, and don't use product. You might be cooked, having used alcohol on it. I'm not sure, so I'll let another chime in. Try the gunk removal and see if it fixes.
@@lefnire I think alchohol was so good at cleaning it stripped the factory lubrication. I kept reading and people have said skin oil from the face works. I tried it and funny enough it worked and its feels like its new from the box again. I'm ordering lanolin oil which others have also suggested as a more hygienic solution and safer for human contact than silicon lubricant for my treadmill. Thanks for replying right away.
Hey DonnaI tried to reply to your statement but it didn’t work I have the long straw lubricant with the bottle at home. The tech that came to my house used it. I just wasn’t sure how much to use and how to measure it. This video is the best informative one. I believe you can get it n amazon
Best video I,couldn’t find video that uses the lubricant with the long straw. Thankyou. Now I know how to use it. Tech told me to use it every three months because I use my machine every night for an hr Thankyou again
slim pro ball is 55mm diameter the Elecom huge is 52mm diameter
the largest ball is kensington's elecom is smaller and a lot light, I got elecom huge and kensington expert, the large size of the ball does not help a lot with the sticktion the new bearings help something but is barely noticeble and from my 2 elecom huge I got issues with both scroll wheels. I have just tried the ceramic bearings, I still have to try the steal ones but I'm looking for a fix to the scroll wheel encoder. Maybe I'm just going to buy another of the newer model. for gaming, it depends on what are you gaming, because FPS doesn't have the same requirements as colony simulator that allows you to pause or change the speed of the simulation.
Do any of you have an alternative for the Slimblade trackball? I read a lighter one will be more ergonomic and I'm not optimizing for performance but ergonomics. It's main use is productivity.
@@shareclipsave ploopy Adept, baby!
@@lefnire Hi Tyler, thanks for the very informative videos. I got out and grabbed a Slimblade Pro since it was $28 off at Bestbuy based on your reviews. I really meant to ask about replacement 55mm balls that are lighter. Apparently a lighter ball makes it more ergo which is what I'm optimizing for. I'm also considering an Adept since you make it very convincing that I should just try both and decide after.
Great info - really appreciate you insight. A question on usage - what are your thoughts on using without a desk? Would like to have something for walking while watching TV - just a casual stroll for some exercise during the day.
Still great for that use -case, but I'm that scenario I'd prefer one you can run on, just in case. Then you can get a real exercise since you're not vying for keyboard/mouse precision. The Urevo Strol models can go fast
Lmao, try that big square mess in a shooter with your 'hover hand' theory, then use the gameball. Once you've done that tell me which one is clearly better, and why its the gameball.
Thanks so much, this tutorial fixed me right up!
