Is she really funny? There's a lot of canned laughter added to most of her stuff! This Interview is just one of many from the RTE TV series "The Meaning of Life". I have them all carefully stored and I have tried to uploaded others to youtube for you to enjoy, but this seems to be the only one that's not banned Worldwide? other than the Gay Burne radio clip on "The Soft Irish T" see ... th-cam....

What an absolutely beautiful chemistry there is going on here ❤️ His solid, patient, fatherly presence is keeping her grounded and safe. The tears in her eyes at the end when he took her hand brought tears to my eyes. Will any of the young men of today become such figures in the future? I truly hope so.

Gay Byrne was the best interviewer of Women Ive ever seen.( Except for his awful mistakes with Annie Murphy, Bishop Caseys girlfriend/mother of the Bishops son on The Late Late Show) but 1 snafu in 37 years is not bad. Here Gay had to ask 3 standard God related questions in a relatively free ranging encounter to act as a comparator between interviewees in this series called The meaning of Life"

The theme music and the stunning scenery made the Quiet Man film so memorable The story was pretty much stage Irish of its time. One can't unsee Wayne dragging Maureen O Hara by the hair, or her offering him a rod to beat her. M O H was an undoubted beauty, but she had to play the part of a skittish slightly wild Irish lassie " peeping out from behind The Gate" scene at Wayne which was not very edifying The pub brawl was not Irish cultural norm ,,, hopefully nor the brawl by the river Cripes hopefully not... Beautiful music, beautiful scenery, beautiful girl, John Wayne was a typecast cowboy, but his presence in Ireland caused a sensation in the 50s Stage Irish ,, but enjoyable
