Lovely to see this show Maureen the best ever what a talented Lady and all those wonderful people at the show I have lovely memories seeing her on the stage as a child they were the Days in Ireland gone but not forgotten Thanks Maureen and Gay for all the great shows Marie Dublin
Brilliant memory of an Irish legend, remember her when I was a child , sadly an Ireland that's long since gone never to be seen again, simpler times but such rich and memorable quality sadly missing today
Fantastic, Please try and find the rest of the Show. She was a legend and a beautiful kind person. She is irreplaceable. She used to call me her Number 1 Fan. xxx
Eamonn Elliott. i saw maureen potter and she was the undisputed queen of irish panto. her energy was incredible and she did panto well into her sixties.
Made in Studio 1 at RTE, this set looks like to be from around 1976 as this was the first set to be broadcast in colour on RTE from 1976 onwards. Awful looking set though.
John King Do you mind if I disagree' John?. Maybe that was the only furnishing' they could get at that time. Those colours' reflected that era. Quite a lot of old Late Late Shows' were recorded. What a shame' R.T.E won't show them. it is always great' to see things from another era.

Ireland's queen of comedy
I remember Maureen Potter very well. I saw here in Gaels of Laughter 1972 at the Gaiety Theater in Dublin.
What a nice humble lady she is/was. A true star. And of course Gay is the perfect host as always.

As Maureen would say as one of her personas "I couldn't agree with you more ".
Dont make them like her anymore
Oh How young Gay looks!!!!
Glen
Yes' but did you notice how youthful he sounds also. He would have been in his early 40's' at the time of this episode.
its me that's getting older!
Glen
I was only a young fellow' when this programme was originally shown.
I was a lilte kid in its heyday, and Gaybo looked old to me...

The Russell Harty Show on LWT here also had a God awful set in 1974. Looked like it was filmed in a barn shed.
John King
Once again' it probably came down to the financial side of things. They had a show to present' and it was either do it or scrap the show.
John King Did Maureen Potter have a small cameo role in Gideon of Scotland Yard.
radiofones
A lot of them still survive though.
