No filmmaker ever uses autofocus in Cinema. Use focus peaking and manual lenses. Simple.

So it is very simple, if it is lighter to carry and less expensive, you fix that small gap by editing slightly wich you do anyway and goodbye...the decision is simple thank you for the review very good

I don’t know but I think the v2 also renders a bit different. Much more to my liking. And I am not talking about bokeh only.

when you hold the old one next to the new one, you can see a different reflection color, so the coating seems different. i was lucky to grab one of the 200 pieces, and still didnt dare to open up the box

Wow an original v1 in black anodized. With that in mind, the v1 black - like the later v2 - had an aluminum alloy mount. Wondering about the base metal type and finish on the new re-issue Steel Rim black version, and any weight difference to the new re-issue chrome version? Wish Leica had just called this a version 3 ( close but not the same design elements and time seperation ) to make it easier and quicker ( no writing out ‘re-issue Steel Rim’ ) but then it is all about marketing.

Great lense, but I think the Damasko is the star of this show!

My 35mm summilux looks huge next to this tiny lens. It reminds me of my 35mm summicron in size.

On digital, 0.95 every day of the week. On film, 1.0 adds something magic to my portraits; it does not matter what optical defects are; they are part of the flavor. 1.2 is a great compromise for those who use both digital and film

The Leica M3 is a true classic that set the pattern for 35 rangefinder design for years. I have a Leica M3 single stroke camera and use a Voigtlander 50mm f1.5 Nokton lens & Leitz 50mm DR Summicron lens-and feel fortunate to have snagged one. Both are fine lenses for the M3, but the Voigtlander is a bit lighter and faster handling. There are probably some debates about which 50mm lens is sharp enough to use as a prime lens, and there are several lens makers that can fit a Leica M3 straight away or with an adapter. The higher prices for used Leica cameras and vintage Leica lenses tends to encourage people to become Leica purists, but the emphasis should be about getting a good picture while the actual lens is secondary. It should amaze and inform us when we see images that look great but were not taken with a Leica lens. Well done presentation of this Leica M3 camera.❤😊

does not complicate your life! you don't need to cut the film. I always use my visit card I insert between the film and the flat spare part behind the film.

Dark colours are really dark.. the shadows are really dark.

Avec l'argentique, quelquefois les ombres sont bouchées, et un peu foncée à l'ombre. sinon toutes les autre photos sont biens. Si l'on reste avec un révélateur grain fin et un développement normal. A l'agrandisseur, en plus des bouts d'essai, quand on aura établi le temps de pose,pour la photo définitive, avec les mains, retenir un peu ici, focaliser la lumière là etc, pour avoir les photos que l'on voit dans le film. Pour le numérique tout se joue sur photo filtre, (gamma,couleur, contraste, et luminosité). Pour le noir et blanc (gamma,contraste et luminosité). Si on sait comment faire, vous aurez des photos comme avec n'importe quelle sensibilité et des photos parfaites. Pour avoir du grain, mettre sur poussière, ici couleur ou noir et blanc,comme si on avait une argentique d'une certaine sensibilité bien agrandies En couleur, si vous prenez un certain pourcentage, et que l'on dise que c'est une ( K o d a k ,A g f a, F u j i ou autre,c'est que ce sera bien fait.

I own this camera and LOVE it! However it has succumb to the dreaded E1 shutter error. Trying to find someone who can repair it. You can save the settings but will reset to default once the battery is taken out/replaced.

The horizontal / vertical icon alignment changing is pretty sweet ! Can't front.
