The 2 expansions BKK is trying to push to reality currently are reconnecting Deák Ferenc tér M with Lehel tér M via Bajcsy-Zsilinszky út and Váci út, destroying the overpass at Nyugati Pályaudvar M. The other expansion they put to public consideration which is to extend line 42 to the Havannatelep soviet housing block and later to Szent Lőrinc-telep, it would also create a tram connection to Kispest Honvéd FC's stadium the Bozsik aréna along the way.

There are currently two possible expansions of the network brought to public consideration by the BKK, these are extending line 75 to Kápolna tér with a new line 75A running on the current route, the plan would see more buses on the main part of the route via line 75A, while line 75 would connect the soviet era housing blocks of Kőbánya with metro line M2 at Puskás Ferenc stadion M. The second extension would see line 81 completely rerouted with line 80 taking its place towards Fischer István utca, this new line 81 would at first follow the path of lines 82/82A until Komócsy utca then it would take a right turn into Szugló utca and at corner of Szugló utca and Miskolci utca it would take a left turn and go through Miskolci utca, at the end it would join line 74 at Sárrét park and the line would end at Mexikói út M, line 74A would cease to exist with line 81 taking its place.

What an amazing system. There is even a quad track section in the core near the main railway station. And one stop where it looks like trams pass through the depot to serve it!

They already have at least 1 Pesa riding around and the new port line has it's official opening ceremony on the 29th of November 2023. It will start to be used normally in the week following the ceremony :)

I don't know how i only got recommended to this channel, but loved your video of the tram and trolley systems of Budapest. I even learned something new as a Hungarian. There are some projects running on expending the system. One is connecting the south of Buda and North Pest side, running along the "Bajcsy-Zsilinszki út" what is going from Deák tér what is a busy tourists place throught Nyugati Pályaudvar a busy train station. The other project is a side track from Line 41-19, to connect in Universities and a newly built city area on South Buda, around the area of the bridge of Rákóczi híd.

The new ones are stunning, but personally I've never been a fan of this design Having said that, I definitely wish my city had even a quarter of Amsterdam's transit system 😅 (we recently opened our first Light Rail line, 2 more are under construction and 3 metro lines are in planning, so we'll get there!)

I've been to Olomouc 2 years ago. I didn't ride the trams, but the city itself is very beautiful! Not that much known abroad, but gives excellent experience!

Nice video, I live in the village near the Olomouc and the tram transportation is the most comfortable way of transport in the city. Maybe except walking :)

I still don't understand how can they transport so many Amperes thru 600V DC system, one tram can have even like 200 kW of total power and you can have several of them under the same wire which means you are transporting hundreds or even thousands of amperes thru just + and - wires (minus is rail), that sounds impossible.
