      Latvia is not about quantity, it's about quality. ;) Liepāja is the third largest city in Latvia and is considered a large city with all the things that you would find in a major city like a theatre, concert hall (a very large and modern building), some 20 or so churches and quite a bit of Art Nouveau architecture. Also one of world's longest white sand beaches and historical fortresses and buildings of the former secret military town of Karosta, now in Northern Liepāja. So... Don't be confused by the population.

      @@martinskesteris8664 I'm Estonian, I'm not getting confused by population. I don't quite understand the point of bragging about your city as if it's some sort of gotcha moment when I'm literally already of the opinion that it's a nice city

      @martinskesteris8664 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@intervrt well if you're Estonian then you should have known that a big city does not have to be with millions of inhabitants to function as a major centre in its country just like Tartu has almost everything if not more than Tallinn. It's just that "everything is so small bla bla" kind of syndrome. No bragging, just saying.

    • @intervrt
      @intervrt 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@martinskesteris8664 I'm saying you're arguing against a point I didn't make.
      It's generally positive for a city to grow its population, among other benefits it can extend it's transit infrastructure better.

    no way they have more tram systems than just in riga... I have always thought latvians don't have more trams.... like us, estonian. There is something that latvians are better in. We really need the Tartu tram in Estonia. If 68k can have a tram, 100k should defenetly have it:/

      Latvia has three tram systems. There is another one in Daugavpils

    • @realdronthego
      @realdronthego  ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Latvia has 3 tram systems indeed. Rather impressive. All of them get or got a complete overhaul. Liepāja hits it out of the park with high frequencies and a fully low-floor tram fleet.
      Meanwhile Lithuania has 0 tram systems😅

      There's even such an obvious general route to put in Tartu, from Lõunakeskus to the centre to Annelinn, seems quite easy. At least Tartu has been putting a lot of effort into cycling, I guess

      @@realdronthego true! New Koncar trams are expected to be made by 2025. That's why our mayor has bought some 20-30 trams from Augsburg as temporary switch, to at least modernise lines 1, 9 and 13 which run on old Tatra trams.

      Привет совкодрочер! Да многие уехали в Европу (благо есть такая возможность), но нужно учесть, что в совковые времена в городе было дофига оккупационных военных + их семьи. Потом им дали под жопу ногой. И плюс за этот счет население города уменьшилось.
      А перспективы у города, думаю есть. Сам собираюсь туда на пмж.
