    I found Riley's method too much time consuming, i'm still at beginner level because I took longer break. However using some parts of his method helps me to rate the proportions of the face and each muscle a lot better than loomi's method, which doesn't focus on proportions despite being a lot simpler.

    I was an artist since 7, I explored many different art styles, design work, typography etc. I sold my first art work at the age of 14, I went on to work for many different clients, including Pewdiepie, and other high profile clients. I am now 26, with good knowledge on digital illustration, art direction, story-telling and design. I'm looking to expand to creative direction and story telling, using ai to create stories that take months, down to a week. I agree with both sides. It does suck to work for a long time to have an art style used (I've experienced the gross feeling of my art being used for the wrong purposes, and It's why i keep artists names outside my prompts), and I go through the grueling work of customizing an Ai image to just how I envision it. You are right, there is so much testing, note taking, and parameters and hours and hours of work to get something up to specifications for the direction I want to head in. It's not as easy as people think, it's a whole new medium, a medium of words and codes, it's neat if you think about it that way. I believe that there will be lanes for both. 1. Traditional artist who love the process can raise their value in the face of ai art, and clients who want and love human touch in the art works. 2. Creative directors needing a faster ai pace style fleshing out story boards in a matter of days, with clients who envision more than just one illustration and need a whole fleshed out story board - This provides cheaper production for the many stories that want to be told. - It's good for both if you see both sides of the coin. The people that will be losing work are the industrial artists that don't know how to tell a story through their artwork, or don't have an art style to sell. I believe in this case, it will push them more to inovate their traditional works to new heights, this will be exciting to see. However, one needs a positive perspective on life to keep pushing --- most artists unfortunately don't. I believe this situation is just like how traditional painters revolted when cameras were first invented for photography, painters said it would decimate the need for portrait painters, but instead, the camera's invention created lanes for both mediums to thrive in, creating distinct art mediums, and birthed many great legacies. The same thing is happening with Ai. It's all about perspective, and long term positive thinking as history repeats itself --- The positive thinkers always win. I understand the flesh wound of it's art style scraping, but the perspective I choose to see is a bright future for everyone. We as humans have a way of finding a way, no matter how negative the "now" feels. Traditional art will still live and thrive, and Ai art will find it's place. Thank you for your video, it was insightful and real. Cheers from the US.

    Dude, I stumbled upon your channel while trying to understand Midtones in the context of creating Art. After watching that one video, I have just watched another 3 of your videos in a row and I am loving it. You are doing a great job ! I especially like how you provide visual examples to explain the concepts . Like when you showcased the "before" and "after" pictures for combining loop + rim lighting. Nice one! This video has been really great. Breaking-down and explaining these concepts into snackable slices, that are manageable to assimilate, and leveraging easy to understand language, is just swell. This information was previously hard to come by, especially, without running into some sort of "pay-wall" , that doesn't even guarantee that one will acquire the education that the aspiring artist requires, in order to thrive and progress in skill-level and approach. Anyway, I just want to say KUDOS! Your contribution definitely gets 2 Thumbs up from me. I am going to be visiting your channel often and drawing inspiration from the video collection you have curated, to round-off my exploits and endeavours within the art world. Thank a bunch !

      @@BueskenArt Well you can start a drawing class where you upload 3 lessons a week , I mean basic stuff for beginners to learn because there are more beginners than professionals plus you know most of the professionals don't watch other's work cuz of some inner ego or something idk

      Thanks for the ideas! Well, my last few videos were meant for beginners. Especially my guide to learn drawing from scratch. Most of my videos are targeting beginners, actually. But 3 videos a week just won't be possible for me, unfortunately - I work a fulltime job. :)

      That's perfectly fine. If you like your eggs hairy at the bottom, go ahead!

    Thank you! I've been drawing digitally as a hobby for some time now but always did the lighting by intuition and never learned actual patterns that painters use

    Hi Daniel, great video. I have been drawing portraits for quite some time, mostly by tracing and shading (see my progress via zitatinte, if you are interested). Now I reset and want to learn from the start (again). Also like to practice the basics daily and just putting up my "etudes". Love your approach. The only resistance I perceive is your 3rd step (drawing basic forms without perspective). I am so used to recognise perspective now (learned it in my childhood and perfected it over the years), that I can't stand even looking at those objects. Is there any reason for me to practice them anyway? Anything I overlook skipping this step? Otherwise I would jump right to level 4. Thank you again. Just working further through your beginners blog posts and videos. Thank you very much for the inspiration. Viele Grüße nach Bocholt 👋🏼

      Hey madiko, thanks a lot! 🙂 Well, this video was for complete beginners. I think "step 3" is great, if you have no idea of vanishing points and stuff like that yet. It allows you to quickly and relatively easily draw forms that looks somewhat 3D. But if you are so used to drawing and recognizing real perspective already, you can of course skip this step! 👍

    It's been a year... which of my predictions came true? CAME TRUE: - Selling art: scammers are selling AI generated art, stickers and whatnot left and right. Non-artists will probably not notice the difference. :( - Art will be difficult to distinguish: Kinda came true. AI art is difficult to distinguish from other AI art. It kinda looks the same. But then again, this makes it "easy" to distinguish from hand-made art. - Content flood: Yep, the internet is getting flooded, like I predicted. There's so much AI art on Instagram now... Look for the (very) high contrast images with very smooth color transitions. You will know what I mean. DID NOT COME TRUE: - Replacement of artists: I'm not sure, but I don't think AI art has wiped out that many artists careers yet... - Video creation: I don't think there has been much buzz about AI video creation anymore. It's just not good enough yet. However, there are crazy developments in the area of (automatic) video editing! - Image generation tools: No, AI image generators are not a "normal tool" and free to use, like I wrongly predicted. Certainly not in WhatsApp. There are free tools, but they are severely limited. Everything is subscription based nowadays - companies are trying to milk this stuff to the max. But still requires a lot of computing power which makes it expensive. - copyright: NO, copyright is not "a thing of the past". But strangely not that much has happened here. There have been a few law cases, like the New York Times sueing OpenAI. But the big players like Nintendo and Warner Bros. haven't really made a move. Also, governments and regulators just don't seem to be sure what to do with this stuff. Maybe a lot is happening behind the scenes here, but no news for the general public...

      I was thinking that artist that do covers and sequential art for comicbooks should post on their social network pages images that don't make any sense so that it ends up in the datasets AI use. What do you think?

      @BueskenArt หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well, I think it's WAY too late for that, my friend. 😀 I think it's spending your energy in the wrong places. AI Models are already too sophisticated for such a stunt.
