I use interlock and non tipped game king in my 7mag but tipped sst and nosler balistic tipped in my 7mm08 cause it’s only 18 inch barrel slightly lowers the velocity and works for me

My 243 likes power point Winchester but I did get the Hornady American Whitetail and I got no better than 2 inch groups at 100 yards

I’ve been thinking about buying this rifle.

Buying this in 7mm08 only a few riffles this light to carry and none are near the same price and Accuracy .. cheers from down under😂😮🤣🤣 subscribed

I'm late to the party here, but thanks for making the video and I agree with your review. I punched through and through a blacktail at 170 yards and got a booner at 370 yards with a 150 grain, and had an elk die within 50 yards after a double lung from a 165 grain. Accurate and effective.

Bullets are defected by twigs … The term ..” Brush Gun” is usually a carbine ( short barrel) .. maneuverable in tight places .. heavily wooded areas .. not to shoot through brush !!!

Hornady whitetail in 7mm-08 gave me a 10 shot 12 inch group. Horrible ammo. I tried Norma whitetail and that shot great. The same thing happened with Hornady SST ammo in my .243. federal ammo shot great. I don't want anymore Hornady ammo

I currently own 2 Ruger Compact's in 308. They are walnut blue. I have also owned in the past a Mk1 M77 compact in 308. I regret selling it. I also had a Mk2 stainless laminate compact in 308. All these rifles have/had a Leupold 4x33 fixed scope. You can't buy that model scope anymore. I live and work in the forest and I haven't ever killed anything over 100m. The Ruger Compact 308 is a great work tool and hunting rifle.

For "best", I'd go with a larger bore, .338 to .358. The larger the bore, the less velocity loss in shorter barrels.

Great video thanks for posting ,308 is a great round. I got one and I really like it ,any ammo around here is hard to find ,and whenever I run across some I never pick up more than 2 boxes ,I try my best to give the next person a chance to get some

If you need a bullet other than Hornady inter lock sp. I don't know what you're hunting

I've had mixed results with the American Whitetail in 6.5 Creed. It's ok and the animal(s) died after a 9mm to the head or a cut throat. Other times the bullet dropped the critter pretty well without extra help. I'm a Hornady fan but this one has been meh in my limited experience. Not bad, but not spectacular either. It works though if that's the ammo you can find.

My gun of choice is a Remington model 870 Wingmaster 20 gauge slug barrel with rifle sights . It's great within 100 yards.
