Just ordered one from Amazon, 37 bucks. The scope is on sale for 74, plus $10 off any UTG order over $50 right now, plus $30 credit Amazon gave me for messing up my Nintendo Switch shipping, plus free one day shipping. not bad. It comes tmrw. I really dont care just a basic scope is good, I actually mostly want it just to make my AR look cool.
I have a 1x4 for my Henry Lever Action 22LR and does fine. I ordered a Bug Buster for my Walther Umarex Hammerli 22LR. Can’t wait to receive it and try it.
I put one on my 10/22. I’m glad i put my (snobby) bias against UTG aside and bought this because it’s amazing for the price point and perfect for my 10/22, especially with the parallax adjustments. Having Trijicons, aimpoints, Leupolds, etc - I am saying this with some experience with the better stuff.
I have had 2 Bug Busters. The first one was absolutely horrible. Constantly chasing zero and would lose focus between shots. Turned out that it was a BB clone and I was feeling like a piece of candy on a stick. I purchased the second one from Leapers and it has lived up to the reputation that others have said like here. Mine is on a PCC that shoots 9mm-460 Rowland. The 10mm and 460R have some thumpy recoil and the Bug Buster handles it with no issues. Beware of a really good deal, it may be a clone. Leapers has a great military discount program that competes with bargain prices.
Were you (or anyone else commenting on here) ever able to find a one-piece mount that works for this? I've been searching everywhere and have come up pretty short. That 85mm space outer ring to outer ring is not widely seen. I found one adjustable, but it weighs over 8oz... way too much...
I mean it's a cheap scope that works well. I never needed to adjust on the fly using the turrets but I figured out once it was sighted in what the second and third mildot was yardage wise and just went with that. Wasn't ever shooting long range with the gun I had it on.
PersistALL I got it off amazon I think it was like 80 bucks at the time. here's a link: www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B005UGIMNQ/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1486656149&sr=8-1&pi=SL75_QL70&keywords=bug+buster+3-9x32
@@decklanburkhart8113 Tried this page, but won't work for me. May be because i am in England. You wouldn't believe the problems we have when we hit an American amazon sight. English has no problem.
This is an Excellent scope. However; I did all the math and you can throw away that common core BS card that comes with it. Their not real mils. Someone at UTG seems to think mils have something to do with metrics. THEY DO NOT ! 1 mil represents 1 yard at 1000 yards. It is true angular science though, as real mils math will spit out an answer in whatever unit you put in it as range or size. If you put in a goat that is 2 fingers high and do the math it will tell you the range in how many fingers that goat is away from you. Okay, rant over. This UTG scope's reticle amounts to one Mil-Dot represents 4 inches @ 100 yds, 8 " @ 200, 12" @ 300, 16" @ 400, ect... 1/2 Mil is 2" @100, 1/4 Mil is 1 inch @100 and so on. Now go have fun without that confusing F-ing card.
The letters AO has nothing to do with the reticle. AO stands for Adjustable Objective. That term means nothing by itself, but since the earliest parallax adjusting scopes put the adjustment feature into the rotating objective bell of the scope, the term AO caught on. Info from Pyramid Air web site. Plenty of info on UTG web site and TH-cam. So, educate yourself and know the facts. Leapers is the corporate parent of the UTG subsidiary company. Good effort on a fine $100 scope.
If the bugbuster was set for 9x, would a target at 600yds seem 9 times closer? Would it appear to be about 66.66 yards away? If the AR could shoot 2 MOA, would that mean you could hit within about 12 MOA at 600 yards? (target about 1x1 foot)?
Thank you for sharing. Like you I took a leap of faith and bought this scope. Should arrive today.

Good video and a solid review of the UTG Bug Buster. I plan on adding one to my AR.

I was not ever able to find a one piece mount
how do you like the ring height
One of those odd scopes with mil dot recticle but MOA turrets. Why? Just makes adjustment so much more difficult.

Optional i guess.
When talking about a scope we generally always want to know the measure of eye relief we have , where did that go ?
Good review thinking about getting one for my H&R rifle if the illumination would stop working does the crosshairs still be seen?
Yes!
Very good presentation. Definite thumbs up.
Thanks for the review. Well done.
$150 in the usa, europe is around £200 😢

I like the scope but i dont know how i feel about the entire crosshairs lighting up 🤔
Think about the night time use. You have an option.

I want the mossberg mvp so bad!
ErikisOfficial just bought one the FDE model....yes you do want one in your. Collection

You expect to shoot an AR out to 600yds with a 3x9 scope?
If the bugbuster was set for 9x, would a target at 600yds seem 9 times closer? Would it appear to be about 66.66 yards away?
If the AR could shoot 2 MOA, would that mean you could hit within about 12 MOA at 600 yards? (target about 1x1 foot)?
Robert Nadeau: I shoot my AK to 600 with iron sights.
I can shoot my M1A at 1,000 yards with iron sights. But, since I'm 72 years old, my target needs to be the size of a VW bus.. :)
In the Marine Corps we qualify at 500 yards with iron sights lol
I do it with my Millet DMR-2 ..in 1-5
So yeah..it's possible to do
