I've heard people say suppressors can mess with tuned handloads, like if they develop a hand load for a rifle without a silencer, it can change accuracy of that handload once they suppress it. I can't verify that.
This is the only data I have on these loads with this gun. I shot the 2.20 OAL load in my gas gun with similar results. Unfortunately, I didn't have my rear bag with me, or it might have been a little better results.
I tune my hand loads with the suppressor on.
@texpatriot8462 yep, if you're going to use one all the time, you just tune your set up.
Sounds like you aren't getting much sound echoing off the ceiling either.
I think my voice was louder, and they were a similar distance from the camera.
I haven't heard this silencer, but after looking at the specs, I think you should be really happy with it long term.

I got so screwed by my ffl that filled my new hunting suppressor as a trust instead of as an independent. ATF is saying half a year for trusts.

@montanamusings it really does. It was put into taxstamp jail in May, and the ATF said don't expect it until November.
I think the 6.8 wst got unfairly pushed to the side because hornady fibbed about the 7prc's velocities , i don't own one but had i been in the market for a larger game cartridge it would have been what i went with

I would say that the 6arc is the more versatile of the two. However there both grat cartridges.

Personally, I’m not sure if I’d open it 😊 Living here in PNW, the 6.8 Western is a terrific cartridge for the elk, deer, and other big game. It’s quickly become my favorite out of all my hunting rifles. It’s the perfect ‘do-it-all’ cartridge. It can handle the largest game and at long distance with terrific accuracy is what separates it.
Somebody said you can find the article online. I think I'll leave sealed. I can't see one thing wrong with this cartridge, and it's starting to get more support. Thanks for watching!
@@montanamusings I’m hearing that Hammer is coming out with all copper bullets for the 6.8 Western. I’m looking forward to those as well.
@@jimedick9496 I haven't tried Hammer bullets, but I've heard they are very accurate.
@@montanamusings I’ve heard a lot of positive reviews with Hammer.
If you get a chance. Try a browning x bolt pro. I'm not a browning fan but those rifles shoot extremely well. Happy hunting .
I wanted to hold out for the X bolt2, but I couldn't wait, as it hadn't been released yet. My XRR's shoot pretty darn good. The 6.8 will get better as I shoot it more. Thanks for watching!
If you are a bit of a collector, leave it sealed? Maybe, someone will email you pickures of the article? I have no idea about how these magazines work, and it may just be the publisher printing up a quick cover sheet. But, if you look at a picture of the regular magazine cover, it may not feature the 6.8 as your copy does?

I've been using Leverevolution. It's got the best velocity profile.

@@montanamusings I hope you get it fast, I got 5 via trust recently took just under 3 and a half months, my SOT guy that we both know and a few others just did individual submissions...got them in a couple weeks. Cant wait to see you use that A10, its one of the cans still in jail for me.

They aren’t making that many large rifle. They are making small rifle due to demand. So there is plenty of overrun and overstock. When Russia finally takes Ukraine we’ll see large rifle come back strong. They are however starting to trickle in more and more every couple months. They are supplying Ukraine and other NATO countries to replenish what’s been given away. It’s supply and demand at this point. Almost every video you see of Ukraine soldiers they are holding M4’s. Small rifle primed cartridges.
About the time I think I'll pay too much on Gunbroker, they'll start showing up. Thanks for watching!
Cabelas has they pretty regularly. You have to get there around 11 am on the day of delivery. They day ends in Y. But they can be had. Bought three thousand large rifle last week

I'm having 4" groups at 100 yards in 30-06. Very disappointing.
Right on!
Local Murdochs has the 162 copper impact for about $40 per box. Did the Ron Spomer, clean your barrel to bare steel, method and only shoot coppers, and shrunk the groups considerably. Last group was 0.3 and consistently sub half. I now regret disassembling 100 rounds of the stuff for the brass and primers.
I haven't gotten back to shooting the Copper Impact's. That's definitely worth trying, if those are the results you can get. I'll have to check Murdoch's in Helena or Missoula, next time I'm there.
I just picked up a Winchester model 70 super grade in 6.8. Located in the Bitterwood valley and have lots of different projectiles and reloading capabilities if you want to try anything. Let me know.

My buddy has taken two large bull elk with these 6.8 Western Silvertips. The shortest shot was 470 yards and it was a monster 6X6 bull.

It's not about judges, it's about non elected agencies making up rules that put law-abiding citizens in jeopardy. If Congress wants to try to destroy the Second Amendment, let them try.
I haven't tried that box yet. I have some in the safe. Also, Scheels has some ABRLs in stock for $60 and Cabela's/Bass Pro has 175 Sierra's for $53.

@davidmartin7479 I believe the Terminal Ascent bullets are one of the best hunting bullets on the market. If I could get some, they would be my top pick.
