Every book I read last year (and data analysis) 📚
All of the books that I read last year... collated into a delightful spreadsheet and analysed to my heart's content! Here is the list of books that I read in 2023, a year of 'audio book shuffle' reads from the library. Low risk/high reward strategy that meant I read 35 books, quite a hearty number for me. Scoring all of the books 0 to 5 stars, and listing them in order for easy pickings for sharing the best books I've read!
Top books were:
Remarkably Bright Creatures - (I dare you to not read the blurb and just jump in for a blind read)
Strip - (immersive characters to sympathise with, worlds away, took me worlds away)
The Name of The Wind - (my ultimate comfort read, possibly my religion)
Demon Copperhead - (I normally audiobook FAST, at 1.25x speed, but this book I read as slow as possible, hoping it wouldn't end)
Also I've got to own up to having several (7 to be exact) ZERO scorers. This meant that they were 'did not finish' books (DNF's). No reflection on how bad the books were.
Reading goals for my future reading include reading more books with older main characters (got to love a retirement storyline) and to cull some of the 'low' scorers into the DNF pile and create a larger gap in the histogram!
00:00 Intro
00:57 Revealing the list
01:45 The histogram
06:02 'Random reads' without reading blurb
08:16 Stats of reading trends
09:47 Booktok regret and Colleen Hoover
11:36 Top book recommendations
15:05 Reading goals for next year

Invisalign Refinements Update (18 months later) | Cracked Tray, Stained Tooth, Gums & Bite
มุมมอง 10Kปีที่แล้ว
Surprise surprise... although it shouldn't have been such a surprise. I need refinements. Here's how the process of getting refinements went. My bite (my biggest concern going into this) continued to be rather terrible. The "it hurts in the roots of my teeth to chew on this side" kind of terrible. And despite my best efforts and continued optimism till the last 7 days... I messaged my ortho and...

Invisalign Progress Update (1 year later) | Stained Attachments, Gums, Gaps & Midline Issues
มุมมอง 9K2 ปีที่แล้ว
I've had invisalign for a year now! Here's how it's been going. My bite continued to not cooperate. I had a surprise painful tray. A beautiful sampling of Invisalign ASMR to be had. My IPR finally began to show results as the crowding is noticeably calmed down. One issue I'd like improved is the alignment of my top and bottom centre lines. I'm not sure if it's possibly. But a girl can dream. I ...

Getting Slenderizing IPR for Invisalign | Pain, Sensitivity & Bleeding Gums
มุมมอง 14K2 ปีที่แล้ว
I got IPR slenderising as part of my Invisalign treatment plan. Here's how I managed at my third session! Right at the beginning I saw my Invisalign plan, and I knew exactly when the IPR was coming. I decided to get IPR instead of getting teeth pulled (which was the other option). For the third IPR treatment, I arrived in a really positive mind space. I was reclined back in the chair as the too...

To all women in Dundee, be VERY careful about this individual -----> warningtoallwomenindundeescotland.blogspot.com/
It's a shame that this video doesn't have as many views like other tips videos. A lot of these tips are really useful. I have been using many of these tips for some time now, but had I known about them from the beginning then my treatment would have been easier from the start.
I thought I was gonna see the process….
As my application of admission is accepted by the university of Dundee. The university authority is very cooperative but i need some serious or major help or assistance to travel and grab this opportunity.
Really helpful, thank you 🩷
Great video with so many facts and information from someone who grew up in the wonderful town of Stonehaven and has the surname Ramsay as my family previously ran the shop you referenced in the square. Now live in the USA so your production ideal to share with anyone I am trying to explain the unique qualities of Stoney
Wow thank youbfor this video that was super helpful 😁😊
You have explained this better in 10 minutes than an entire module on Western Blotting at university has!! Thank you!
3:32 I formed a loop and then I poo 💩 but my stitches came apart
What abt the teaching quality in masters, classroom strength, assessment, research quality and accommodation cost?
I have 25 trays and change weekly, hopefully stays that way
You’re so cute im dying
What does v mean? is it a control?
Hello, thank you very much for your video. Is it possible to make another one guiding students regarding renting as a student. I’m planning to start my studies this September but rent scams are scarring me as I am an international student.
Thank you, i accepted in dundee and i come in September, could you please tell me about renting house and fouding job
Thank you for this! 🙏🤩 helped me sew up the bottom of my jeans 🥰
"promo sm"
Where did you go?
I enjoyed the ironing board " hack!" Will move my board next to the window! Thanks! Cheers!
What is the importance, if any, of having one piece of thread for the length of an entire seam - as in a pant leg? I find it difficult to “wrangle” a long length of thread. It always gets tangled or makes an unwanted knot. Is it okay to sew an entire seam length with smaller pieces of thread or does it have to be one?
Smaller lengths sounds good to me! Easier to make it neat and probably save time overall with less untangling knots 🪢 😄
Pretty lucid presentation
One of the best biology explanations on TH-cam, thanks! Incredibly helpful
Great job!
Great video and nice explanation. Thank you!
Thank you for this, much needed tutorial for me to finish the hemming of curtains. Also a very happy burns week and night for the 25th Jan. Hopefully it's a real special one. All the best from one Scot to another 🏴
Amazing, finally a useful video for normal people without offering any products. Thank you!
thank you ❤ kisses from Brazil 😘
Thanks a lot for your video!
this is the best video on western blot. thanks...
If you don’t get sarcasm, you shouldn’t come to Dundee Uni 😊
Thank you so much! This tutorial was short, sweet, and to the point. I literally know nothing about sewing, but using this tutorial was able to repair my son's hoodie pocket. 🥳
Ahhh, finally a tutorial that shows how to hem curtains in a non-permanent way, no cutting, sewing machine or hem tape! I live in an apartment with baseboards and I will absolutely want my curtains back to their proper full length for one day when I have my own home, so I didn't want anything permanent that would require me to re-purchase down the line. Your tutorial showed me every step & question I might've needed answered and you've helped me so much, thank you!
im in year 10 right now, and after talking to some representatives of UoD and researching it myself, ive decided its my dream uni, i want to go into maxfax, so their dentistry course is very appealing to me.
Did you have to pay extra for refinements???
Right at the very start I paid for a full package that included refinements. The other option was 'Invisalign Lite' that was cheaper but I didn't pick. So yes I guess I did pay more!
every don't is do for me
Thank you. This has been really helpful 😊
Thank you for clearly explaining the procedure, it really helped me a lot in understanding it.
Thank you so much! 🙂
Very great explanation. Very bad blot itself though 😅 A few recommendations. Some, you may already be doing: 1. BSA Protein Concentration Assay for all samples simultaneously prior to running them on a western. 2. Never run more than 15 ug of Protein per lane. If this is below your threshold of detection, switch to a commercial blocking buffer such as SuperBlock from Invitrogen in TBS-T. That should help with sensitivity. The reason that 15 ug should be the upper limit is because you have to be within the linear range of protein concentration for an antibody to be used for relative quantification. For a protein like GAPDH, this linear limit in many cells lines is 5 ug. So in addition, I would also use a different HSKG like beta actin or vinculin. 3. Instead of a housekeeping gene, you can also go with a total protein stain. You used Ponceau, but depending on the company you buy it from, it's really hit or miss. And if you make your own Ponceau as I used to, that's even less consistent between lots. Some people just forgo housekeeping genes all together and only go with the total protein stain, but it's also possible to use 2-3 housekeeping genes on the same blot so that you can take the best 2 of 3. If you have a problem with 2 of them, then you're either modifying expression of 2 of them OR your sample concentration was measured accurately. 4. if you heat your samples, don't go over 10 mins at 95C. Can cause hydrolysis of your protein and that can also effect how it shows up on the blot and potentially account for why your GAPDH isn't even. Should help you get more consistent results and thus graduate faster. Good luck!
THANK YOU SO MUCH. My favorite pants just ripped at the seam and you explained how to do a simple stitch so well! Im glad I can try to sew it myself at home with your amazing directions <3
I start my Invisalign around January time. Thank you for the tricks and tips. After you’ve completed all your trays how long do you wear the retainer for? 22 hours a day is go long. I hope I don’t gag
you wear retainers full time then switch to night time after a period of time
May I know how you differenciate between cells and debris?
This video was helpful. Thank you for sharing. 👍🏾
Scummy in the 80s? No. I studied at the Uni in the 80s and judging by the various YT videos I’ve recently watched, it was a lot better. No phones, but you simply stepped outside and had a great time with interesting people. It was wonderful.
Are your teeth sensite after ipr, i wanna know. I wanna do this instead of teeth extraction.
Bane of my bloody existence, western blots and live cell imaging
Hi Emma, just a little confused are the green and red splotches on the graphs the fluorescent given off by the antibodies? I’m finding interpreting the graphs confusing. Great vid thanks
