Hearing people break down the difficulty of Plok always makes me feel like I could never beat this game...and I already did. Figure that one out!

Oh come on dude this level isn't THAT bad! It only made me want to end it all twice, that's 3 times less than the forest :)

Losing here is awful, but I remember my worst time in this level I accidentally jumped at the end of one of those slopes and the momentum was enough to clip Plok into the ground, there was no way out and I had to turn the game off.

Difficulty curve is insane, this doesn't make it a balanced game, but a game ONLY for diehards. Saying that, it's beautiful.

Sor3 was always my favorite in the franchise. The dark atmosphere and story is very moody. I was so sad Adam wasn't playable but at least he's in Sor4. The soundtrack is very different in Sor3 but I love it.

I make music and im telling you as someone who knows how music is made that there are two distinctive types of sound in this game. One excellent and one not.😂

There's also infinite Ikazuchi magic (invincibility) cheat. To activate: sequentially play BGM: He Runs -> Japonesque -> Shinobi Walk -> Sakura -> Getufu. the last song shall give you a 'click' sound instead of music when cheat activates. Works on both USA and Japan roms. Oh and this is actually Shinobi II not III

I got to the final boss, with 1 life and no continues. He asked me to join him. I figured there was zero chance I was beating him, so I said yes. That was the only time I got that far. I don't remember what the ending was....I think it was a betrayal though. I do remember playing with a friend and trying to die on purpose so he got the ending where he went back in time and married a monkey though! Hahahaha.

Yea... When I think of bat shit crazy, I think of Contra Hard Corps. I have no idea what were they thinking when creating those bosses. I wish some will recreate boss fight in Unreal Engine in hyper realism, just for the sake of it. Hell maybe AI can help with that issue.

The Gameboy while not good isn't as bad as this. It looks like a lot of stuff got cut. In this case, it seems like it's for the better.

The robot fight on the train is my favorite boss in a Sega Genesis game. The visuals are captivating.

SOR1 and 2 had pretty sick music. 3 had motherfucking FIGHT CLUB music!

The reaction to seeing my character running down the street fighting a giant ass robot made me laugh almost as hard and as long as on Bloodlines when I saw minotaur enemies ripping pillars out from under platforms and attacking me with them. It was the sickest shit I ever seen in a game that age!

I like how Neo Zeed owns a nightclub and has the name of their criminal organization just blatantly on the walls for all to see.

It's funny you mention a new Shinobi game given that Sega announced a revival of their past franchises. (And more recently, a Shinobi movie that's going to be made by Universal Studios)

Dude I literally watched your review of Plok this week and thought it was pretty good. I do disagree with this video though tbh. I don't think creepy forest is that bad, half the doors are actually aligned with where you wanna go when they first spawn in, so it's only a few that make you wait, and even then, it's not that long. As for the final 3 fleas, you can just follow them down until they jump to the very bottom, that way you don't need to backtrack at all, cuz ya know, they're already at the bottom (and even if you couldn't do that, it's really not that hard to just not drop down, the red cones are more than big enough for you stay on). I think Gohome Cavern is arguably worse honestly, should've picked at that, or one of the stupid vehicle levels like the UFO or Heli. Still a fun watch though!

I don't really mind this level. When I played this game as a child, and I played it a lot, the only thing I would criticize overall (aside from the Flea pit levels, ugh!) is that Plok really needed a password system, to allow starting the game after each boss. After around the third boss (the Penkinos) I usually felt rather exhausted, so this level felt that it drags on too long because I had already been playing for a while to get there, and wished I could take a break and continue the game later. The only thing I'd change on this level specifically is that punching the rotating doors should change their rotation direction. It would cut the duration until you can go through by half and would also a player interaction to the doors.

This level sucked, it toke a month to beat this level because of how maze like puzzle it's, waiting for the doors is atrocious every time i think passes safely through i get hit. It's tedious and slog to get through it's has nice aesthetics and music but it's not a level that i will want to replay. RIP jeff fallen you were true music legend.
