Those poppies are Iceland Poppies Steve. California Poppies are more of a spreading variety 👍 I am so looking forward to seeing all the desert flowers in spring 😊😊
Hi Steve, just want to let you know how much I enjoy your channel! I wish so badly I could see Palm springs! We have never been able to financially afford vacations.....but as we have gotten older we have been able to take a few. I kept telling my husband I want to see california, but he doesn't want to drive it and I won't fly. 😬 SO, I totally enjoy your walks. Don't let anyone ever make you feel bad (referring to the person that called you a creep) for doing so. Many you tubers do that sort of thing. Thank you for "showing me around"! Maybe someday I will get lucky and make it out that way!
Thanks so much, Vicki. I hope you do make it out here one day. And it’s really not that bad of a drive either. A few years ago, I drove all the way to the East Coast in about four days. 😎👍
That same snow storm apparently managed to cover 40% of the states. Indiana got up to 10" in several places and in some, they got close to 14". Where I am, we got around 6". Now we're in single digit temps. 🥶🥶
Up here in Saskatchewan Canada we have seasons but some don't last long. Sometimes it's so cold the geese are depressed. It was so cold here the other day even our local flasher had long John's on 😂 OH we do get summer it usually lasts 4 days and winter sticks around like an annoying relative with no other place to go. Haha.
This was really cool! I can see the four seasons through what you said and what you showed. I wonder if you notice a difference in the blue of the sky during each season? Here we have four seasons and the sky is very vivid blue in fall and usually a paler blue in winter, when it is not grey before it snows. I really enjoyed seeing the trees and the flowers. I had never seen poppies like that outside of a catalog. Those trees were really having fall, weren't they, with their crispy leaves all in a pile. I love nature. I look forward to seeing spring in the desert! Thanks for doing these videos.
I live in Phoenix so I know all about desert flowers. After a wet winter they will blanket mountain sides, very beautiful. We get the occasional snow dusting as well.
In my part of Canada (New Brunswick), we can get 5-6 FEET of snow in the wintertime. I’m not a snow lover….especially when you have to shovel that amount of snow.
❤ thank you for the beautiful footage. We had snow yesterday here in Rhineland-Palatinate. It must be wonderful to have snow and very hot weather, both❄️🔆🪽
Hi Steve love your channel. Today (Thursday) in Ft. Lauderdale (actually Margate, FL) at noon it was 61 degrees. We have iguanas down here in the and the co makes them numb and they actually will fall out of the trees.
In the Coachella Valley, we endure triple digit temperatures for several months of the year. But when other parts of the country are hip deep in snow during the winter, we're in shorts and tee shirts.
Hi Steve, What a lovely video. I’m originally from Southeastern Pennsylvania, but I live in Florida now. They just had a few inches of now up there after having little or no snow for several years of warm winters. Now it’s freezing up there and I’m happy I’m down here. I love watching your videos, and thank you for sharing them with us.😀
I am crying! Have had to have my drive plowed 4 times this week and about a foot of snow. I know my choice, LOL. My daughter from Phoenix is coming to visit next week so told her to bring their warmest clothes. It is a feel like temp of 2 now. The kids will be out playing in the snow and sledding on the hill as soon as school is out. 2 different places, each with their beauty!
That was so interesting. I had wondered if you got more than just hot weather. It was 3° this morning here in Michigan. Snow is beautiful to look at but a pain to drive in. The snow looked beautiful on your mountains. Have a great day. Blessings - Judith 🎭🎤
I'm in West Virginia and we got so much snow from Blair and we are suppose to get more from this next Strom, I'm originally from Georgia so I don't drive in it lol
Snow!! We are in DC...big snow this year, unusual for DC. Snow on those mountains around you has to be lovely. Another great video, Steve thanks! Stay safe and warm!
I am very surprised by the "seasons"'. I didn't realize that you actually had the short lived diversity of seasons that you do. Surprising❤😊 and exciting at the same time. Thanks for the information!
In my opinion I think that’s what makes Palm Springs very unique in January of 2016 visiting my mother in law in Joshua Tree snow was on the mountains pretty cool to see looking out the dining room window all the twinkling lights at night
Thanks for showing us! Here’s another 1970s Palm Springs memory: Back then that tram was nothing like it is now, it was very simple and frankly scary to go up that craggy lift. Anyway, since my family was a SoCal family we didn’t have snow boots so when I was about 3 and my sister 6 years old , mom would put sandwich bags over our shoes to go play in the snow up there. 😆 Beautiful views! Ps those were Iceland poppies not California poppies 🤗
I am a little surprised to see snow in Palm Spring, but you did a video where you went up on the mountain and there was still snow. You had lunch up there and then came back down. Thank you for nice video. You and Jim take care.
We're getting snow mixed with sleet in Dallas today. Personally, I think it's best appreciated from a distance. Way up in the mountains is just about perfect. Lucky you.
Snow already in most places in the UK at the moment. Only freezing fog and rain where I am on the south east coast of England at the moment. Its going to drop down to -4 Celsius here. Brrrr!
Here in central Indiana, we have about 4 inches of snow in the storm. The weather report says we are to get more snow tonight and Friday. It's 21 degrees now but feels like 16 and falling.
Here in LA we're getting "snow" in the form of ash from the fires. I saw Runyon Canyon burn from my place.😥Let's hope we all survive and finally get some rain for a colorful spring.
I’m so sorry to hear about the fires in LA and Runyon Canyon, I hope we get some rain soon too Michael. Glad you are safe and hopefully you are not having to breathe in too much of the bad smoky air! 🙏💙
Saw on the news this afternoon they're predicting cooler temperatures next week for you folks. That dusting of snow on the mountain did look pretty. We could use a little moisture up here in the LA area to help with these fires.
I think we might be getting some snow here this weekend in NJ. We’ve been in the low 20s for several days with wind chills that make it feel a lot colder. Tomorrow is gonna feel like a heat wave with a high of 35°!😊🥶
My dad was a military guy I was born in Jacksonville Florida and raised in places but I didn’t know it. Snow was so I came down Illinois. We woke up this morning. It was 6°.
I remember the car frozen solid winters when I lived in Montreal. We used to think it was fun to fill up a mug with boiling water, go outside and toss the boiling water in to the air and it would instantly freeze and come down as snowflakes.
Hi Steve are you aware of what's going on in Los Angeles the fire 🔥 it's on CNN and MSNBC, i live in Louisville Kentucky and have watched it for 3 days now. I have watched Jimmy Carter Funeral as well.
I am crying! Have had to have my drive plowed 4 times this week and about a foot of snow. I know my choice, LOL. Looking forward to your futrure video showcasing the beautiful desert flowers. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks again for sharing, Steve
We had a beautiful snow storm here in NM today.
Those poppies are Iceland Poppies Steve. California Poppies are more of a spreading variety 👍 I am so looking forward to seeing all the desert flowers in spring 😊😊
Thanks for the heads up!

Only windy here in PHX the last two days. Leftover southern California weather? No snow. Waiting for the spring flowers. 💙 Paul
It's been a wild week for weather, hasn't it? 😂
@ Sure has been Steve, almost no rain and I had yet to even use my winter comforter on my bed!
Lol well at least you still have your sense of humor up there! 🤣👍
That's very funny 😁

Glad you enjoyed it Ellecee! Even though we do good, four seasons, our sky stays pretty blue all round except for just a few cloudy or rainy days! 😎👍
I’m so glad these fires aren’t coming your way. It looks like you’re safe.
I am too, Denise and let’s hope it stays that way! 🙏🤞
Steve, Are you getting smoke from all those LA fires ?
Not yet, but I’m sure we will soon! 😩
I live in Phoenix so I know all about desert flowers. After a wet winter they will blanket mountain sides, very beautiful. We get the occasional snow dusting as well.
Steve…as you know, Canada has only two seasons, winter and construction. lol. ….great to see you, my friend.

Every time you show that beautiful area! It’s so marvelous to see, and a dusting of snow ❄️ is magical! lol 😍👍
Lovely!
Very nice to see some snow.
❤ thank you for the beautiful footage. We had snow yesterday here in Rhineland-Palatinate.
It must be wonderful to have snow and very hot weather, both❄️🔆🪽
It really is nice to have both. 😄👍
Took my new wife up on the PS Tram as part of our honeymoon back in late January, 1992. There was quite a bit of snow up there at the time.
What a fun memory. Thank you for sharing it with us. 😄👍
Hi Steve love your channel. Today (Thursday) in Ft. Lauderdale (actually Margate, FL) at noon it was 61 degrees. We have iguanas down here in the and the co makes them numb and they actually will fall out of the trees.
Hi Gretchen, wow, how interesting! 😳😄
Thank you Steve!❤
Hey!!!! Hoping all is well at your house..been concerned for y'all with the fires!
I know, it’s so sad to see. Fortunately, we are a couple of hours away and no smoke or fires in our area yet. 🙏🤞
Beautiful scenery there. 😊 Thank you for sharing.
Steve, was heading to the OC and on the 10 West you could see a great view of the snow on San Jacinto from that angle.
🥶👍
❤❄️in the mountains! Great for the the birds, animals, & people too!
I like it too, as long as it stays in the mountains! 😄👍
In the Coachella Valley, we endure triple digit temperatures for several months of the year. But when other parts of the country are hip deep in snow during the winter, we're in shorts and tee shirts.
So true, and I'm so grateful for it!😄👍
I am envious as at the moment it is due to drop to -4 Celsius this evening here in England! Snow is forecast for tomorrow.
@@pobstrel Yikes!! I wish you well.
Wow that's wild ❤❤❤
We have summer in Australia it's hot
In London Ontario Canada, we just got over a snow squall.
It's beautiful, Steve. I remember that view. 💓

We've already had our first snow fall of 2025. I hope u & Jim are k.
How far are the wild fires in the Pacific Palisades? Very sad to see this stunning event happen…😢
I know, so unbelievable! 🥲 it’s over 100 miles away and a couple of hours away, but the smoke will eventually get here. 😩
We're getting snow mixed with sleet in Dallas today. Personally, I think it's best appreciated from a distance. Way up in the mountains is just about perfect. Lucky you.
Hi Steve...snow is pretty ...except when I have to shovel it...which is in a few minutes...LoL.....those flowers were pretty.....thanks ... Deborah 🇨🇦
Seems like a wonderful place to live. I'm in Louisiana and its very humid here.
I live in the snowbelt in Ontario Canada. I wouldn't have it any other way. Snow shoeing on a quiet trail is a spiritual experience!
Snow already in most places in the UK at the moment. Only freezing fog and rain where I am on the south east coast of England at the moment. Its going to drop down to -4 Celsius here. Brrrr!
I drove thru Palm Springs on Monday afternoon and thought it looked like snow up there! Glad I wasn’t just imagining it. 😂
Is that area ever in danger of fires?
Oh yes, almost every year! 😳😩
Just wanted to let you know that I really enjoy your videos. ❤ From Massachusetts
Thank you so much! I really appreciate you watching Seagate! 😎👍
So, next video... skiing ⛷️with Steve? 😆 🤣 You take care. Prayers for everyone 🙏 in the path of those fires 🔥 😢

We are definitely praying for rain! 🙏
Steve if you need more snow you're welcome to some of ours here in Pittsburgh 😅
I was just there and left on the 8th. I missed seeing the snow!
I’ve already shoveled the sidewalk and driveway 3 times this week. I’m ready for spring.
:-O

Hi Steve I think it’s beautiful there ! Can you smell the smoke in your area ? So sad sending prayers to all out there ! The fire is just horrific ❤
Not yet. It is so awful! :-(
My dad was a military guy I was born in Jacksonville Florida and raised in places but I didn’t know it. Snow was so I came down Illinois. We woke up this morning. It was 6°.
Hi Steve we've only had 3 inches this year in MA. Avg. is 20 by now
Keep your snow there😂. I already dug myself out here in Virginia from the snow we had
I remember the car frozen solid winters when I lived in Montreal. We used to think it was fun to fill up a mug with boiling water, go outside and toss the boiling water in to the air and it would instantly freeze and come down as snowflakes.
Wow, thanks for sharing that fun memory with us. I had no idea what I would do that lol! 😳😄
We got ours herre in Ga today 1\10. It is suppose to snow all day and then turn to ice. First snow we have had here in several years.
Sounds like it was long overdue Belle! 🥶
We are due for snow storm Sunday .
we are in a deep freeze -36 C 🥶 I can’t wait for Spring
🥶
Crazy I never really realized how cold the desert of California could be
In our little town here in Illinois on top of the snow and ice we have we could be getting 6 inches or more
❤🏂⛄❤
I've always heard that the weather was the main reason people like to live there.
LOL DESERT HOT SPRINGS HERE...........ALWAYS SEE SNOW IN WINTER...NOT MUCH THIS YEAR.... BUT WE HAVE THE DARN WINDS.
The mountain view are beautiful from there. I think the wind blew the little snow we got away! :-)

We do, but just barely lol! 😂
@steveinpalmspringsca I can send you some of my winter weather

Yes, off and on. When I was born, my grandparents lived here. 😎👍
It was only 42 degrees Celsius here today in central Australia 🇦🇺 107 for you guys 😂
