Thanks, I think Joshua's a bit more sensible than I was when I was his age, he also is appreciative of having a brand new bike bought for him. In return he's gifted me a dual Cardo Packtalk Edge comm set, one of which he uses himself and a Triumph badged BeeLine Moto to help navigate my way around.

Thanks Graham, he finally got there though it took him a while, I bought the bike over a year ago but he had iD issues when applying for his Provisional. Eventually he applied for his passport and used that as proof of iD, then he sat and passed his CBT. It's sad that insurance costs are so hard on young riders, especially as all that class of bike are limited to the same power restrictions.

Thanks Jerry, he rode to work and back today and already he's more confident with the bike. The bike he had for his test belonged to the training school and had been badly abused, with the clutch not biting until full release. The KTM 125 Duke is probably the best specked 125 on the market, with ABS, Traction control ( not lean sensitive), good brakes and Michelin Road 5 tyres as well as a comprehensive information display on the TFT.

Thanks for your valued support Richard and Carol, I remember you telling me before about your son so I looked up the video and watched it. Joshua took his time they kept returning his Provisional application, in the end he had to get his passport first then use that as iD. As he's using the bike to commute to work insurance was very steep but if he rides safe it'll gradually come down.

Cheers Toasty, I and perhaps yourself were more fortunate, my 50cc wasn't restricted to 30mph and I could ride nifty two fifties on L plates. The bikes of those times are the sought after oldies today.

@@ruahinesrider Yes he's built more solid than ever his dad was but then I was more of a swimmer whilst he pumps weights. I recently sold my ZZR1400/ZX14 after taking it for a final decision ride with Josh as pillion. His 100kg, my 105kg and the bikes 265kg made the bike feel incredibly top heavy at slow speed starts and stops. Trying to get my feet on the foot pegs required pushing my knees up almost behind my ears 😲 When a bike no longer makes you feel comfortable 😰 no matter how awesome it is, it's time to let it go.

Thanks Alex he's still a little nervous and is going to take his first independent ride to work today. Roundabouts worry him as he's seen how people shoot out in front of you, some think if they make eye contact they've got free reign, whilst others just keep looking straight ahead and go for it 😲

Cheers Mr TAYM, I did a lot of research before choosing the KTM, ABS, Traction control, a proper dash and Michelin Road 5's made it a no brainer.

Thanks Nige, yes he’s got his mobile independence now and can make his own way to his work which is a few miles away. He’s just a little nervous about roundabouts as he’s seen how people shoot out in front of me whether we’re in the car or on the bike. I looked long and hard at all the options before choosing the KTM, it has all the tech including traction control ( not lean sensitive). I was surprised how well the headlight works, another important feature. I need to kit him up with a camera so if people do cut him up he’ll have it on video.

He took his first ride to work today I tried to follow behind in the car but he stopped and insisted I go ahead of him. All went well I needn't have worried, he'll make his way home by himself. He's taking a route through town as the bike is limited to 6,000rpm ( 40-45mph) until the 600 mile service, there is a route by dual carriageway but that wouldn't be fun whilst limited to such slow speeds. I'm bucking the NoGorithim by keeping comments going from two channels, got to do something to keep on top of the shenanigans 😉😁

Thanks Mick, I'm pleased to see your comment as comments and likes seem to stop after the first two days, it's happened with my last four videos. The road is stunning in both directions, ideally you want forward and rear facing cameras then you capture the best of both.

Your regular viewers will usually watch in the first couple of days, unless like me life interferes. I always have front and rear cameras even on short trips, I just need to get fit to ride again and plan a trip to Dumfries 👍

I'd swapped the rear facing camera to my helmet and had the wrong mount fitted to put the other one on the bars. Hope you're fit to ride again soon, Dumfries is a long trek from up your way. If your passing through Perthshire let me know. 👍

I've often done Dumfries or Stranraer and back in a day. I still have a customer in Dumfries, perfect excuse for a trip, but I don't think I'd manage there and back in a day on Bobby. I'll certainly let you know when I'm going your way, I'd enjoy meeting up and having a chat 👍 I'm improving thanks but it's taking longer than I'd hoped and I'm falling behind with other things that need to be done, so it might not be this year, we'll see...

I was aware of that for the entire route although with local knowledge, my line choice is often road surface dependent. He was very gentlemanly and didn't make a comment apart from asking if I'd rode those roads often, which I think was in reference to my speed. I was holding back a bit because I lost him in my mirrors a few times. It's a pity the Comms wouldn't link it would have made for a more inclusive video. I hope yourself and Twinks decide to come up sometime, there are so many sights, so many points if interest and great walks.

Thanks for watching and commenting, I loved the comfort of the Vulcan and the way it turned heads but it didn't like the unkempt roads locally. I've since traded it and now have a Triumph Rocket 3 GT to replace it as my cruiser style bike. The Rocket isn't quite so comfortable especially for a pillion but it is a marvellously engineered bike and puts just as big a smile on my face.

Thanks Joe, I’m so lucky to have such stunning countryside on my doorstep. There are two or three private roads off of the one we were on, I may try to contact the landowner to see if I can explore them.

Thanks TAYM ( at last your comment is visible to me again 😎🤔) yes the KTM was too KTM looking and let's face it it's got looks only a mother could love. There are a vast amount of decal kits available so I chose one which was more individual. It was a bit of work to fit, then I finished it off with the GW logo and a couple of metal Wolf head badges. It's a bike I so nearly didn't buy but for its all rounder capabilities reviews put it top. I call her Dirty Gerty as she's the one bike I really don't mind getting absolutely plastered. I'm so happy with it, it has the most relaxed triangle of all my bikes, is comfortable and more tech than you can shake a stick at. If your looking for a bike that'll be the perfect winter hack and have your back when things get tricky, it's the one.

It's a pity the rain at the start of the day put you off from coming on the bike, it was great to meet you for coffee and a chat and as you can see it turned into a great day. The Rocket's MOT is due this week, I've changed the Reg to a private plate. Mrs Wolf wanted to go out today but I put her off, rain would have caught us out for sure.

@@greywolf9292 Damm rain is never far away. I would not have been able to come as had something on with my wife but it did look like a great ride but at least we got time for a chat. I am going to sort out the MOT for the NC this week plus insurance is due also, money never seems to stop flowing out.

Thanks Mick, it's the first time I've done it in the opposite direction and to be honest it had me flummoxed a little bit. Going the other way I only remember one tight corner (hairpin/switchback) at the Kenmore end, yet there were a few tight ones doing it heading up the way. I should have part two up for Sunday as I edited the entire video, so it's just a case of cutting and deleting part one then uploading it.

Yes that's very true, however this wasn't an ordinary any day ride and missing communication between us takes so much away from the end result. At one point Noob was wanting me to stop to take a picture of a local sign for the village of Dull, which says it is twinned with Boring, Oregon, USA. Sadly his horn escaped my attention.

I'm sure you were subbed but this platform loves to play games, it removes subs and hides comments and likes. I know other channels who've commented yet I can't see their comments, some are also being treated the same. Ever wondered why the bigger money making channels are flourishing yet smaller unmonetised ones offering often better views and riding similar bikes struggle? I've noticed the likes of yourself and other Scottish channels just don't get the attention you'd expect, unless people hunt for them they're not promoted in suggestions. 😟

The roads are some of my local favourites so you'll have seen them before, I wanted Noob to experience them for himself as cameras don't do them justice. We were lucky the weather changed from a really wet morning to a decent afternoon.

Yes, imagine Cardo linking to Cardo needing a special sequence, we even tried Bluetooth through the phone but I think the units were still out of sync. I've never done Glen Quaich the opposite way around, it's stunning either way. No bacon rolls this time, well actually I had one before we set off, Noob had already had breakfast. He treated me to the carvery when we finished the loop. I took photos but my phone died two days later so I've had to take snap shots from the video. Hope you enjoyed Norway, I had plans myself this week but the Mrs took flight to Taiwan last Sunday won't be back untill Thursday.

You'll have seen those roads a few times now but some scenery you never tire of and I wanted Noob to experience them. There's been a couple of really bad accidents at the start of the Sma' Glen, one rider died six days after hitting a 4x4 with a trailer, then a couple on the first day of their Honeymoon got T-boned and the poor woman had to have her foot amputated. In the video you could see as I turned into it from Gilmerton I'd already commited when a car appeared round the bend. Some locals fly along those roads, I know I like to get a wiggle on myself but I try to observe speed limits in congested areas and even small villages. The Cardo's require a set sequence when linking Edge to Bold, if you don't get it right first time you need to switch them off and start again Edge first. Let me know when you're next free for a trip close to Perth.

@greywolf9292 I never tire of that scenery Michael and its always a great escape from the city. Yeah I seen there was a few RTC's up there which is never good. We were out for a ride today and experienced a few idiots in cars, I almost lost the plot and was going to destroy one driver as he almost side swiped me on the motorway then refused to look at me (eyes fixed forward) Drop me an email with your details and we can sort something out fir a future date. @@BMCMOTOUK Driving standards really are a cause for concern, folk shooting out at every roundabout and crossroads, shooting through red lights. Then there’s the corner cutters, make up artists and sociaholics on their phones. I’ll pop you an email later so we can arrange a meet up 👍

With the Cardo's it actually seems easier to link non Cardo units by the method you mention. The issue was Noob tried to add me to a group first on his Bold, then I tried adding him, then I tried Bluetooth but that's a different process. Apparently the group needs to be initiated from the Edge to begin with otherwise you've to switch them both off and start that way. Never realised I'd hit that sort of speed, it must have been on an overtake. Despite being tall and having a 21" front wheel the KTM does love the twisties, it's not so much fun on the hairpins though, being so high up. Get in touch when you've settled on dates, I'll happily give you a tour. Hopefully you can have a go of the ZZR if I haven't sold it, I'm considering it as I'm not getting any younger. It also gets up to ridiculous speeds in the blink of an eye but then that's why I bought it. It's also Mrs Wolf's favourite for that very same reason, often I have to spare the spurs when she asks me to give it the whip 🏍️💨😊😀😮

I switched the DJI to the chin mount and had the wrong mount on my bars, after faffing with the Comms we just wanted to get going.

Just be thankful I wasn't on the ZZR or the Rocket but Glen Quaich isn't really the road for either of them. The first time I rode that Glen was on the ZZR in the opposite direction, my heart was in my mouth negotiating those hairpins 😲

We both tried setting up a group that was the mistake, unless the Edge sets it up first it's a no go. Even the DJI mic let me down, set it for internal recording but I think Noob hit the on/off button putting it in his pocket 😖

@@PurpleOnThree I check YT studio almost daily even checking the withheld for review option but comments still remain hidden. TAYM has commented on my last two videos yet I can't see what he's written, it's also happening with others so it appears to be common amongst smaller channels. What troubles me is that new subscribers may ask questions which if unanswered will result in them unsubscribing.

It's only the second time my daughter has ridden with me, once on the ZZR/ZX1400 and this time on the Rocket. I think she preferred the more comfortable seat and suspension on the ZZR. My father never owned motorbikes so I never had that experience.

Thanks Joe, the weather is so changeable and unpredictable sunny for a day then back to rain, we have to choose our moments when we can. We had a nice day on Saturday but that was the day of the Filipino Fiesta so I was otherwise engaged. Sunday it rained heavily 😕
