How about a comparison between RX100VA and RX100VII.
I had thought about that! Possibly. Thanks for the suggestion
Good Review. i have owned the HX400v for around 5 years and my wife has the Canon sx70. Both are in my opinion very good super zoom cameras. The electronic view finder on the canon is alot better then on the sony. A few drawbacks of the sony for me would be the lack of a touch screen and higher res view finder, otherwise i really enjoy the sony and its ergonomics for me are just perfect. Alos because it has a large front lens its looks bigger and bolder compared to the canon sx 70. And the zoom ring / focus ring makes for a great addition to slower zoom or manual focus. i would rate the Sony HX400v a solid 8/10 for its age and price bracket.
Agreed. I still like the HX400 after all this time. It definitely needs some freshening up, like the VF as you correctly pointed out but it can still take some very good photos!
there's a thing people like trains cars now it's old cam's now
Yes it all goes full circle!
Could you please do something on the vixia G70
I will try to get to that. Thanks for the comment
I turn it on but see a white screen (no tape on) anything else i need to press or is lcd broken?
Did you try putting a tape in and press record /play See what happens
@@techtoremember8096 its coming in the mail haha
@@techtoremember8096 everything works, except the screen, its just a white canvas, but my guess its because i havent put tape on it.
That’s my guess too Hope it works out !!

I just purchased a pv-L750 and i must say i am impressed so far do you have any reviews on it?
Not on that model but many of those models were very similar
can you use it without battery?
Yes you can
@@techtoremember8096 any link to buy batteries?, im getting this bad boy tomorrow and my guess is batteries are super dead.
Great video, thank you. I still have and use my AX53 with a Sony ext mic in the hot shoe mount. The footage and sound reproduction are so naturally clear. I only have one issue and it’s the image stabilisation; it’s just not comparable to newer tech that has image stabilisation. I know when it was released the stabilisation was great but even slightly shaky footage nowadays is a massive turn off. It’s such a shame as absolutely everything else about the AX53 is on point.
This is true ! But if you do any editing, you can help stabilize further in post Thanks for your comment
@@techtoremember8096 hi, that’s true. Thanks v much.
Perfect, fun video testing the things we can't see just from the technical info online. Thanks!
Awesome. Thanks for noticing!
Very good review. I've got one on order and should be getting it within a couple of weeks. Can't wait to try it out! Thanks
Thats great . Before its discontinued. Best of luck with it and thanks for the comment!
YMMV - I have larger hands, and have owned both cameras. I sold the Sony as even with several different grips it couldn't match the comfort of the Canon. Sony actually made my hands cramp if held for an extended period. Also, the pull-out viewfinder was a non-issue as I popped them out at the start of an adventure and left them out, never could figure out why people open and close them whilst out hunting.
Good idea to keep the VF always open! Glad you found the one you liked.
Not charging - The Canon can be picky on the cable and charger sued, needs some serious oomph behind it or the camera will not recognise it as charging.
That is very true. I had no luck at all charging it with a cable.
I have 2 RX100M7's and they are a joy to use in spite of any limitations. I avoid taking my bigger Sony camera's if I can get aways with the RX100 and Sony is making a mistake if they discontinue the RX line.
that is very true. We all wish Sony would extend this line!
Startling good camera..if you know how to use it!
😲no Wi-Fi! Deal breaker!🖐
Hey! I really like your videos. They are very well made with plenty of details, and 99% always answer a question I am thinking of. Just a thought, would you be willing to make a tripod video comparison? If not, I understand as you like to focus on the cameras themselves. I really like your style, so I figured I'd throw that out there. Anyways thanks for the hard work and great content!
Hi there. I really appreciate the compliment! Thanks so much I wish I had the time to do a tripod comparison because I do get asked about that quite often. To be honest, most of the time I am hand holding the camera but I know many people use a tripod so I really am not the expert in that area. There are so many different models depending on your budget. I can tell you Manfrotto (they used to be called Bogen) are known to make a high quality tripod and when I was in the video business most professionals used that brand. They have many different models for most any budget! Thanks again!
@@techtoremember8096 Thank you for the response I really appreciate it and also the tip. I just bought a brand new p1000 I don't know how I managed to find one but I did and so I am looking for a solid tripod. Again thanks!
this channel deserve millions of subs, dead serious
Thanks so much for that! Hopefully one day....
Which one is better, SX740 HS or G7X Mark II? I’ve been thinking about which one should I get.
They are both very different. People get the SX740 primarily for the long zoom. It has a small sensor and won't do well in lower light situations. Gets grainy quickly. The G7Mark 2 is more of an all around camera, larger sensor, better photos but way less of a zoom so depends on your application.
@@techtoremember8096 Big thanks for sharing your thoughts! ☺️
Nice video mate, i have it's 900 model, having 83X zoom, limited to 1080p video. I bought it for 350$ back in 2015 I guess. it's amazing day time camera.
Good deal you got ! Thanks for sharing
Hey man, I just got the fz80D but I can’t seem to find the Wi-Fi mode. Do u know where I can find it or how u transferred ur photos and videos?
Hi it seems like they literally did NOT include wifi - really crazy -you’ll have to use the photos on the SD card to transfer
No Wi-Fi back to era 2000
If it has clever wifi or bluetooth ability...could they link it to your phone and you touch nerds can use your phone screen?
This is awesome news as mine gets here tomorrow.. Zoom is my thing. I heard its not a great LANDSCAPE cam.Cool im always looking to zooooooom way up on my cute bird buddies in nest holes 80 feet away.i have no need for wide shots .your vid is great ...but please get to central park or Jersey or the Poconos to enjoy some magnificent creatures !
I was surprised how good you sounded from that 8 ft or so .I heard lips smacking .thanks
Hi there! This IS a great cam for zooming for sure. But not sure why you heard its bad for landscapes. It does have a decent wide angle if you stick to photos. And yes, once in a while I do get out of the city and try to find some other kinds of "wildlife" Thanks for your comment!!
@@techtoremember8096 youre right ..again . I am also elated about how good videos will be. Canon is zany with the choices and options ..but rather get 10 of these than one 6000 dollar cam!! You're stuff is great ..thanks subbed and will study all.
Some more comparison of video quality compared to the AX700 would be really great! Which one would be better for primarily shooting video?
Both are good, but the tech in the AX700 is a bit better. You have the power zoom for smoother zooming and I think a bit better stabilization. So if you are primarily going to do video, then I'd say the AX700 if you can find one.
@@techtoremember8096 Fantastic! Great recommendation. Thank you.
Thank you for the time and effort! Would you recommend the canon as a vlogging camera ? Did you find the vide9 autofocus reliable ?
Hi there. I found the autofocus better in photos. You could for sure use it as a vlogging camera, although it wouldnt necessarily be my first choice. Sony's tend to have more reliable Autofocus using the phase detect system!
@techtoremember8096 thank you for taking the time to read and answer 🙏 I appreciate it
Love your informative and honest in-depth reviews with no drama, Ted.
Thanks Ted. Much appreciated!!
Had the same problem conecting with my phone. Is nerve wrecking
I am glad I am not alone!
I would be interested in a comparision between the FZ80, FZ82, FZ83 and FZ300. Like what are the differences in image quality? They all cost about the same
Where can I get the caps refurbished on my CCD V5000?
Thats a great question. It is very expensive if you can find a guy. You need to find someone with know-how in this area and there aren't many folks left that will do it because its so time intensive.
Nice video! Why is 60fps not possible with this type of camera in 4K?
To keep costs down, Panasonic limits it to 4k/30 You’d have to go to a more expensive bigger camera if you wanted 4k/60
@@techtoremember8096Perhaps it is not so easy to implement technically in such a camera. Action cameras, for example, already have 4K 60fps.
Yes for action cameras many people want to be able to slow down their footage in slow motion so 60fps is a benefit for that and for very rapid motion, 60fps will look better than 30. It certainly is technically possible to do it in a camera the size of the FZ80D, however I do think they want to make this camera as entry level and keep the cost down so adding that 60fps would require a faster processor, engine etc.
Small size sensor camera. What size is this small sensor? LUMIX did this to the GX85/9 bodies. Why a microphone jac? Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)
Sensor is 1/2.3”
It would be nice to get some specifications like size and weight quickly - I reject 95% of cameras on weight grounds. I still use and love an old Canon G5-X because of the F1.8 zoom lens and strong permanent EVF with eye-sensor and 350 gram weight
the question is : fz300 or fz80d , I'm really having a difficulty time deciding , any other candidates in the same budget i'm open for suggestions as long as it has decent zoom 60x or 50x
The FZ300 is a different beast altogether. The zoom is half as much but the aperture is constant at 2.8 which many people prefer. I do think the FZ300 yields somewhat better images than the FZ80 but if you really really need to go to 1200mm then the FZ80 is your camera.
I like your content.
Thank you !
I love this camera but can't find a decent stand for it due to its weight. Any thoughts/suggestions?
Most decent tripods can handle this camera If you go on Amazon or B &H photo the choices are almost endless depending on your budget
Looks like the RX10 V4 is being discontinued with no replacement. I'm very glad I have one. As a camera for wildlife photography where I can be taking birds in flight one minute and insects the next this is very much the "Leatherman" of the camera world - it is not the best at anything but it is very capable at many things.
Man, what a shame. Ive owned a handful of FZ cameras and was hoping for a nice update. The video looks no better than any of the older FZ cameras in this price range. You have no stabilization in 4K video mode, thats why it looks so terrible. The wobbling jello is present even at shorter focal lengths which makes this unusable for anything really. I wouldn't even bother shooting home movies with it, my iPhone will get much better photo and video than this. There is no reason to have that much wobble on a tiny little sensor. I would just pay the extra for the FZ1000 or even the 2500. At least the video from those is a bit better and more stable.
You are right. They did nothing to improve the image quality or the wobbling from the stabilization. Still, if you are using it take photos, naturally you won't see the wobble. And yes, the video from those other 2 cameras are better but some people want the extreme reach of the 1200mm that only the FZ80 gives you.
This camera good for concert from tribune?
@@Channel-xx8qt no. The sensor is too small for low light like a concert.
I have an FZ40 that is a lot of fun. Maybe I’ll upgrade to an FZ60 or FZ200 at some point. Idk about the FZ80 or FZ300. I really like the smaller size of the older FZ cameras.
Great video! I have 2 Pentax bridge cameras, recently picked them up, both in mint condition for not even the price of one, the X-5 and the X-G1. Never used bridge cameras before, but have come to appreciated them a bit more. Are they perfect cameras? NO, but they are great grab and go cameras. My favorite is the X-5 it has a tilt back screen and a EVF, makes shooting a lot easier. Thanks for sharing!
Hey there. Wow, I never heard of those Pentax cameras. Now I'm going to have to research them. Thanks for the comment!
I currently have the Nikon P950 which has a fantastic zoom but is so heavy to carry around so this might be just the thing to replace it with.
Yes this is way way smaller !
I like my FZ300 because it is fully weather sealed.
Also bright f2.8 throughout the 28-600mm range. Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)
Thanks for great video. Thinking about buying the Sony but I’m struggling with the fact it’s an old camera really. What do you think?
They are both kind of old actually but that doesn’t mean either can’t work for you -since the manufacturers aren’t making these kind of cameras any more they are in a way, unique - so I wouldn’t let their age deter me ! Thanks for the comment
There are massive drawbacks that prevent me from buying it whereas I seemed perfect besides that: 1) No 10-bit internal recording for videos 2) No flip screen meaning impossible to use it a vlogging camera 3) No unlimited recording in Europe 4) No more internal ND filters. They lost a huge opportunity to make it a video powerhouse for those who don't like buying 5 different lenses and changing them.
Great video, some nice examples for the quality the camera can produce, one feature that would put me off this camera is the lack of WiFi to transfer images to mobile unlike the original camera, unless I'm mistaken 🤔
Good camera for wildlife. Thank you.
Well, this camera nicely summarizes what's going on in the world, in so many different industries. No innovation, no risks taken, just selling the same old sh.t again for a higher price.
Sony's rumor about being discontinued MIGHT be the sign that they're trying to get rid of the IV stock before launching the V or an IVb for the USB-C law
