      I agree. The RX 10 V could be so good. They would sell like hotcakes. Sure it may drop sales of other Sony cameras, but I think they would make more money in total. It’s like all camera companies are afraid of making a really good modern fixed lens bridge camera.

      Finaly i can ask someone, is s23 ultra gets close with a zoom range to this sony i know sony is way better, especialy at it's max zoom, but samsung has 100x yeah 90 of them are digital but perhaps at 20...30x samsung is on a short leg compare to sony ? Thanks

    Great review! I just got into bridge cameras again, I have the Pentax X-5 and the XG1. The X-5 is so much better, but older. Anywho...thanks for sharing. With bridge cameras it is always a bit of a compromise, but having that much zoom range with one camera it make the frustrations worth it!

    I've used both the RX10 IV and a RX100 VII and many superzoom cameras with small(er) sensors. One inch sensor cameras are just at another level when it comes to stills image quality, at least in difficult light (low light, high contrast etc). Video is more difficult to compare as video functionality evolves more over time and rely on other factors than the sensor quality. The problem with one inch sensor cameras is zoom range and agree with the comments in the video that RX10 IV just can't compete with the reach of the Nikon.

    Great comparison, well done. I have a Nikon B700, essentially a smaller brother of the P950. Many of the same features and a slightly lower zoom capability. (60X vs 83X) It can be a fun camera to use but the focus issues you pointed out on the P950 also plague this one. I didn't realize how bad it can get until I bought an old Canon SX50HS, and even though it's also a contrast based focus system the Canon focusses better than the Nikon. I watch a YT channel called Lesley the Bird Nerd and she uses the Sony RX10iv in some of her videos and they are beautiful, and that lead me to think If I had the money I I'd go for the RX10iv. If you have to pinch pennies though, the Nikon can be a serviceable and more affordable option.

    • @techtoremember8096
      @techtoremember8096  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for the insight on the B700. The problem really would be mostly solved if Nikon did come out with a replacement and updated the autofocus which as you point out, is very frustrating. Fingers are crossed. Thanks for your comment!

    Great video! I have several Sony cameras, and they are awesome! I also have a Nikon P1000. The P1000 is amazing!!! For anything close-up to mid range, I prefer to use the Sony cameras, but for mid to long range, the P1000 takes it. Unless you want to purchase a very pricey telephoto lense, and even then, the P1000 gets the shots other cameras just physically can't many times. When shooting something mid to a long way away, it is, in my humble opinion, better to maybe have a few shots out of focus, then be too far away and not get them at all. Also, using point focus pretty much eliminates focus issues. Different tools for different tasks.
    On a side note, if looking for a P1000, be aware that most of those currently available now are gray market and very overpriced. I hope they come out with a newer version of the p1000, but I doubt they will. There just isn't enough money in it for the manufacturers. A single half decent lense costs about the same or more than a complete point and shoot/bridge camera.

    • @techtoremember8096
      @techtoremember8096  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hi there! Yes, totally agree with you here. The P1000, while it can't match the high quality full frame lenses in optical design, it can optically get you so much closer to your subject . Now with photo editing , you really can touch up your photos and make them look way better than out of camera as well. I agree about the profit in why these manufacturers are dropping bridge cameras but I do believe that there will be a P1000 successor as there are some strong rumors currently. Maybe its wishful thinking! Thanks for the comment!

    I haven’t watched this yet but I know it’s a great video. I love your content on the RX10 IV. I learned about another camera today: the canon PowerShot G3 X. It has a 24 to 600 mm zoom lens with a 1 inch sensor. Exact same specs as RX but with a slower aperture. A comparison between those two would be neat.

    Great comparison. I have the Lumix FZ80 and find I get much better results when I switched from using auto mode. I also use different settings for still and action such as Program, Shutter Priority, center focus, tracking focus as well as different metering modes depending on what the scene calls for. You can get some pretty good results from super zoom cameras if you use the proper settings.

    I’m so tired of having to buy a phone (anxiety brick) to get a camera I can easily carry without a bag of lenses (attention and crime magnet). I just want a camera that is a camera. There is a huge gap between smartphones and Interchangeable Lens Cameras which the “point and shoots “ used to fill. Optical zoom with good image quality. Adding to this, most enthusiasts (the largest potential market) enjoy experimenting from macro to landscape to sports/wildlife , something the RX10 offers (macro not so much) and given that birding is a huge hobby internationally, how many people actually own a 600mm f4, very, very few even though any birder needs one, once again the RX10 makes this possible.

    Love my RX-10 IV.! I have placed it as my go to because of its versatility. And I owned a Nikon P900, and currently a Canon SX-60 (that I do love for many of the same reasons, the Sony just gives you a bit more). Still use my earlier Sony A77 for certain workflows, but the RX10 IV saves me the trouble of lugging around the extra gear. Is it perfect, no - but it is an excellent camera with great specs in its own right. Unless you have a specific or professional workflow that calls for next level gear, i'd say for at least 90-95% of the world it (or another bridge of your own personal preference) will be sufficient. And for the RX-10, it has been around long enough that all of needed accessories are low in cost, so you can build around it without breaking the bank.I have been shooting for years, going back to the 70's and 80's (Pentax and Minolta come to mind) and have long since calmed myself of G.A.S. (Gear Acquisition Syndrome) having learned decent technique and photographic basics along the way. Often the gear exceeds the expertise of the photographer, and expertise allows you to get great photos without having the latest and greatest each year. Get off that technology treadmill and learn how to take good photos and you will be surprised and pleased. And have fun.!

    Hello there! I have a question about the P950-why it doesn’t have an off mode for NR noise reduction.

    First, about the WXF1, the effective sensor is 8mp, how come it can take 20mp photo? Is it still 25mm if i take a photo at 25mm or its mkre uktrawide since it usw laeger area of the sensor if there is?

    • @techtoremember8096
      @techtoremember8096  หลายเดือนก่อน

      It probably uses some type of interpolation . I wouldnt get the WXF1 for its photo ability. Its just a feature thats nice to have but it won't be as good as a digital mirrorless camera. It takes the same size photo regardless of the wide angle or telephotos.
