I got this beast for $500 on Ebay and its been amazing. I had the Tamron 150-500 but never really took it out because it was just too big. I can fit this in my sling bag with the Sigma 18-50, and Tamron 11-20 and its a great all around kit.

Had this lens since SONY released it, on my A6400 and its been amazing. Taken some amazing photos with that set-up despite owning 2 FF SONY and all the trimmings. It’s a very competent lens to this day even several years out from its intro.

Would you say that this is a better lens than the Sony 70-200 f4? I am really torn between the two, literally any help would be highly appreciated, I also got the Sony a6400

Its a good question. To be honest I have not tested the 70-200 f4 but I have read many reviews on it and it is reviewed very positively. They are 2 very different lenses. The one reviewed here has a significantly longer reach (525mm equivalent compared to 300mm equivalent on the 70-200 on APSC body) which is a big difference. The 70-200 is bigger heavier and of course faster. You say you have a a6400 which is a light camera and I believe the 70-350 is better suited for the lighter body. Plus you get more reach. If most of your shooting will be outside then the aperture difference wont be that much of an issue. If you are doing indoors, like indoor sports then I'd say the 70-200 may make more sense. The glass is going to be more high quality in the 70-200 but how that translates into actual image quality, unless you crop in heavily and pixel peep, in most instances there is minimal difference.

G is for "good, good, good" 🤣 Man, I miss that guy. I have this lens and rarely use it. It's great for video, but kinda meh for stills. Doesn't have much contrast, at least to my eye. I've been using the 70-200 f/4 G ii a heck of a lot more - which is a fantastic lens!

I have both. The α6700 + 70-350 combo will get you more keepers

    Tamron 18-300 is better.

Nahh...on paper it might seem, but this lens has superior af and the oss is superior....like its the difference of getting half the shots in focus and not blurry

@@nithishvanavarayar3145 😯 that's a big difference, it's hard enough taking handheld pics at those zoom ranges
