Do you recommend this gun for applying solvent-based color?

I have the 717 for about 6 months now. I just picked up a SATA 5500RP and I like spraying 2:1 clear with the Porphis better. I have a SATA 5000 for base and other than the looks the Porphis is a totally different spray gun from both of my SATA GUNS.

I'm down for salary if they're paying 120k

What was your fan fluid and psi with the C1+ cap? I was at 20 psi fully open and I was blowing out way too much material. I had to choke the fluid down. I was spraying almost double speed to what I’m watching here

Hello. What is the difference besides speed between C1 and C2? I have 1.2 and 1.3 in C1 and I'm wondering if it's worth buying C2?

I've just bought a 717 porphis and what a great gun (can't put it down) and i've got most guns on the market ie Sata , devilbiss, iwata you name it i'll have it LOL .I'm not on your level ie spray booth etc but as a one man band in a small unit try and produce the best work i can ( been at for 47 yrs and love it). Great vids keep them coming 💗

Hey Joel, superb video yet again brother your vids have so much detail over and above the video you include a lot of info that I find invaluable👌I wish I could spray water basecoat I have tried it but I found it difficult to dry in my homemade booth mind you I didn't have any heat like I do now but it was in the summer when I tried it so I decided to keep to solvent now I have a solvent paint scheme it's difficult (costly) to change. The blue candy in my scheme is available as a 3 or 2 stage colour which I thought was quite useful but I will try the 3 sage variant at some point as I like this colour, thanks as always for taking the time to do this for us👏🙏👍John UK

I have had good luck with sanding scratches out of raw plastic with 600-800 then refining it to a 1200-1500 wet. once you are down to 1500 its almost as smooth as the unsanded plastic and you can seal it like normal without issue. Give it a try and see if that's quicker or easier for you. P.s. I'll have to try my Kiwami for sealer, looks like it lays it down pretty well! Oh and yes, everything is always on fire lol

Did you ever spray DuPont? We used to have a product called 222, it was basically super glue, that you sprayed onto the panel. It was a wet bed, but also adhesion promoter.

Excluding the first coat edges on the clear coat you took 23.36 seconds and on the second coat you took 30.02 seconds. A total of 6.66 seconds longer. That takes A LOT OF PRACTICE to do that. Pretty Amazing!

Thanks Ollie what you do here is of great value to me, not everyone is a top notch sprayer and just watching this before going ahead with a job gives me the extra confidence to get stuck in, when your still learning, but love it, you need that sometimes, thanks again.
