The heat has been awful the last couple of days, too hot for scrapping ! There was a fire up behind my place this evening, got to watch the bombers fly over the house for the first time this year.
We had such an easy start to summer. It's gonna be a bumpy ride now. I have a multi load job up on trepanier next week. I told the client it all depends on the fire season now! Good luck to us.
Thanks Bud for the shoutout, I forgot to take the butter box yesterday from the outside of that house, The Malkin Tea crate is nice & more rare, Nice brass table might of been re-plated? or bin in a fire for it to bubble like that
Sweet
Thanks
Great useful helpful video. Thank you
Brass table nice
Look pretty lonely at the scrap yard driveway, the regulars were not there.
It's always quiet when Mikes not there!
That guy reminds me of a young Jason Lee. Like Banky era.
I love how you're always right in the middle of explaining something, then your camera shuts off, then we're instantly somewhere else and have no idea what the outcome of the other subject was!! Subscribed!! rofl!!
It's ADHD delight around here!!!
Hahaha, Fraggles. I loved that show when I was a kid. I had a crush on the hippie chick.
Hehe. Rats can be cute!
We only have Richmond and ABC up here and I only deal with ABC. The folks at my yard are excellent.
Always excitement down there. What a strange trailer though. Was it a motorcycle trailer?
Battery Doctor has upped their game somewhat, not enough though to suit me ! 😂😂
Kyle is great to work with because he is always educating the customers so everyone does better.
"You call, we haul" I like it !
I stole that line of course!!!
Never ending projects
Let's see if I can make any money on this trailer build! No bites so far!!
Nice payday
Thanks to Dean at www.Valomechanical.ca !
If you get more lap tops save them for Phil, I will drop them off for him.
Great! I will start stacking!!!
That guy on the scooter reminds me of Scrap Vulture !
😂😂😂😂😂
That Asian bottle was cool
My friend is a bottle collector and he kept it!
TH-cam randomly notified me of this video tonight, and I bet it's because I'm subbed to you 😁😎
I used to work for highways and have dragged my fair share of deer into the truck. Elk and moose we got the loader. Bear we dragged.
Oh my I think a bear would stretch the limits!
I think I am going to have to go by the Scrap Hawk nest and shake things up ? 😂😂
I think there's only two requirements. Bring your own chair and try to find at least one weird item that no one else wants.
You don't grab the compressors and stuff off the refrigeration units?
Even though I know the fridges go straight into the crusher and the gas sprays everywhere when they shred it.... Still I'm not ready to be the kind of villain that just callously cuts refrigeration lines yet.
@@Nas_Atlas They don't drain them before they shred them? That's the law in BC. I got my certification online and drain them myself, then I get paid $22 from MARR BC plus what I get for the metals. You should look into it. You have lots of places to dispose of the refrigerant there. I have to drive to Grande Prairie when my tanks are full. Get a hold of me if you're interested in finding out more.
You had some nice jobs, Got to like the Garbage removal jobs
Yes I do!
That scrap run had a good motor in that washer might be copper 2 bolts only, Those bee's make a mess when the hive is real big try to get rid of them
The bees took off just an hour later! So strange. I'm pretty sure that washer motor was aluminum. I like pulling them but there's only so many my guy wants to buy that he can blend in with his load. The other place says to send them straight to shred.
@@Nas_Atlas I was busy once and tried to take some to "the other place", same answer ....... shred ! Ummmm ... thanks but no thanks !
@@CruiserMac I keep learning crazy things. On my next vid my yard will give me prep steel price on steel wheels but only if I remove the valves...maybe it's the same for Phil??
@@CruiserMac They didn't even want to give me dirty aluminum which was surprising considering the case and windings were Ally. It does depend person to person and sometimes even day to day!!! That's why it's such an interesting hobby.
Hopefully things pickup soon !
Can you imagine what a disaster my yard would be if it was! Last few years I was too busy to scrap and I would just dump everything at the top for the scrap hawks.
@@Nas_Atlas Good opportunity to catch up then !
Another great video
Thanks CTH!
I had one of those old Maytag washers we bought new, it lasted like 25 years !
Try and tell the kids to buy an old one on marketplace for $80. Nope. They're gonna spend $2000 for a new one that's gonna last maybe 8 years.
Yikes, that canopy was heavier than I thought !
Actually I forgot one small chunk in the truck and to add the bar which I kept so that's another 30lbs.
There's a website that just does batteries like that in Canada. I'll try and find it.
I sent a guy a video of the thing working. Still no interest. It's off to the recycle depot with it tomorrow. I've done what I can.
@@Nas_Atlas that's too bad. It's weird how people are now.
Good job policing the scrap hawks.
Well if it gets shut down because the crackheads are shitting where they eat at least I yelled at them instead of just being pissed off without saying anything. It's no use though their brains are scrambled from the drugs.
720 lbs is still pretty heavy
Yeah, I've never had good luck with those blades. One day I'll splurge for Diablos.
Yeah those Diablos' seem to be the way to go.
@@CruiserMac Phil complains about them but he keeps buying them!!
@CruiserMac everyone I know who uses them, swears by them, but I only ever find them online and can't be bothered. Lol
That canopy thing was a beast, need spare batteries !
I should have brought more battery but I convinced myself I was gonna tip it in and go! Also Phil spanked me for not using a sawzall. I recorded a bit this morning cutting it up more and yeah a sawzall would have finished that thing off in 20 minutes.
I had a feeling there would be tension amongst the Scrap Hawks at some point, I guess the better prices spurred greed ?
I've watched the cast of characters come and go over the last ten years. There was another problem guy a few years ago who also had a gambling addiction.
That's awesome. I just bought a deck with one on it but I need a 1 tom dually to put it on.
Mine is just a little guy but it's still good for up to 600kg.
@@Nas_Atlas that is more than I would need, for the most part.
I want one of these paint shakers so bad. I want to use it to shake car batteries with distilled water and baking soda to renew them. Think it would work for that or would it be too heavy?
Interesting! No I'm sure a decent battery must weigh as much as two or three gallon paint jugs. What if you attached it to a wheel from the side so it rotated upside down and back again?
@@Nas_Atlas that is a possibility. I was thinking of strapping them to a dryer drum but I think it would be too hard to get the weights even. I'll keep dreaming
You got your ass kicked on that pickup, If you had a Sawzall it would of cut that like butter, Those grinders suck for large jobs like that. I seen you dump a SS looking sink in the shred? Great Video Bud
Oh I am trashed today! I'm gonna cut it up more at home today. I'll do it with a sawzall and ya it should work better for the skin which is very soft steel. Don't worry that sink wasn't stainless! I started scrapping stainless again just for you Phil! Cheers!
Nice one, Nas! Great variety and cool burning lense experiment. I saw one of those tv projector units in the alley today. /cheers
Ya the videos I've seen guys are welding steel and melting sand into glass. Anyway it was a cool little experiment which might be useful later to do things with
@@Nas_Atlas pretty amazing. I wonder if they ate banned from scrap yards due to fire risk?
I would have never thought someone would buy those cardboard boxes, but it makes sense !
Cruiser i'm laughing my ass off! I collect them now! A buck a box!!! lmfao!🤣🤣
Some of those hot tub motors are all Aluminum, I sell them as is at about 50 Cents a pound
It was a risk! I'm gonna try and salvage a pound of copper out of it hopefully. I've got some other commercial motors I want to open up. But I've watched enough of your videos to know it's often not worth it!
Sleigh beds make good raised garden beds.
Oh that's a neat idea. I get a lot of bed frames and I can hardly give them away mostly. I'll advertise as raised bed next time then I throw in some old plywood as well.
I've got that pole saw!
I've got maybe 5 pole saws until I need to find one for a job....
@@Nas_Atlas lmao
Awesome how you get these jobs and quickly resell a lot of the items instead of going to the landfill /cheers
You have to develop a thick skin to people on marketplace so you know how to handle them.
The Roth Towers is where my wife lived when I first met her, some 40 add years ago ! Just noticed now that your rig is called an Atlas! Those small trucks like that are amazing, don't now why there were never manufactured for the North American market. That is a good idea, give the stuff away but charge a delivery fee !
I've dubbed the Roth towers "The King of old Pandosy" The high doorways and ceilings make a fantastic living space. The balconies are large and airy. The building is heavy concrete and you don't hear your neighbors. One of the best apartments in Kelowna. Due to my particular set of mental problems I also like lifting heavy things just like the Atlas!
Most days I can get rid of the large items by the end of the day. Every time I post a free mattress I have 5 people in the first hour who want it.
I'd love to have a spot to hang out and pick through scrap. Nice bunch of stuff in the junk pickups.
Yes this is the up side of having a low shred price in the valley. I can go every weekend to grab the little metal chunks i need for various stuff. But you've got the space to store what you need!
@@Nas_Atlas it's true, and I hope to soon have everything I need being dropped off for free, then I can pick until my heart's content.
SS good for outdoor shelfs + all those medical equipment is all scrapped even good so you have to buy new, Medical Mafia
Ya I sold all those panels in one day! Plus I got a bunch more stuff from the Mafia. Luckily for me they pay their bills!
Is it just me or are those Scrap Hawks multiplying ?
Like Rats
@@CanadianTreasureHunter 😂😂
I think there's gonna be more scrap hawks than scrap by summer!!
@@Nas_Atlas Haha, there will be valet service when somebody pulls up with junk !
@@CanadianTreasureHunter Well the real rats are the guys who dump garbage there and barrels that still have chemicals in them. Everything these guys grab makes more money for the scrap yard and then the guys spend into the local economy. Otherwise all the good metals just get squashed up and the metal refiner in China keeps all the profit.
Awesome Nas! Those stainless panels were nice and great you are able to resell those and the cabinet etc. rather then have to pay to dump them /cheers
Ya I lucked out with cabinets! Michael makes doors for cabinets and then puts a vinyl wrap on them.
@@Nas_Atlas Excellent reuse /cheers
I am depressed that copper has dropped 50 cents a pound. I might get over it, I might not ? 😆😆
Perfect timing!
Great job on that house clean out and wow that free shred pile is cool ! Those guys make $$$ sitting there all day and grabbing the goodies sounds like /cheers
The plus side of low shred price is the weekend goodie grab.
@@Nas_Atlas Great job on that hot tub and the safe rebuild also /cheers
Good morning, Mike! $4000 for a tile saw? That's crazy. You ever think of doing rentals?
I'm trying to get $20 for it and pass it on. I clearly don't need more junk. Sadly since no one is biting it will likely end up as scrap.
@@Nas_Atlas start doing tile jobs, buddy. You'll be rich.
