Fallout 4 Settlement Build - The Slog | Nuka Bus and Residential Area
มุมมอง 5K7 ปีที่แล้ว
This is a build for the Operators, a gang from the Nuka World DLC that is like an organised crime gang and solely interested in caps, wealth and greed. Knowing what kind of people I'm building this settlement for is helps me have an idea of the look and feel that I'm aiming for. Today, as the title implies, I've built a cabin on top of a Nuka World bus with some surrounding residential building...

Fallout 4 Settlement Build - The Slog | Rooftop Shops
มุมมอง 6K7 ปีที่แล้ว
This video revolves around us building up the rooftop area in the Slog that overlooks the swimming pool. We've taken this previously bland, open and unused space on top of this building and turned it into a shopping area for the raider gang from Nuka World known as the Operators. Sticking to a scrappy and rundown yet practical theme for this build, we've really pulled this one off quite well. A...

I thought the story and characters were cliche and safe. I knew what was going to happen in almost every situation. I felt little love for any of them. R* are a bunch of game writers trying to be Hollywood screenwriters. They aren't on the same level as the latter. To me RDR2 was like an interactive B movie, they put much of the effort into the tepid, unoriginal story rather than interesting and unique gameplay, which is bad considering it's a game not a movie. Arthur Morgan has been seen time and time again in cinema, just watch any spaghetti western. Every time he spoke I found myself sighing, eye rolling, cringing, and saying "oof". I just saw it for what it was, some nerdy game writers immitating western movies they've seen and cosplaying as hollywood screenwriters.
this game, his character development everything about it still moves to this day. till this day the time he found out hes getting sick makes me so emotional as if hes a real person and the beauty of all of this being wrapped up in a game is having to play it from time to time to re-experience the emotions i got the first time playing it
When the world needed him most, he returned
He’s back!
10/10, just finished the game and this explains everything for me
"I'm dying, sister." chokes me up EVERY time
I have two characters that I absolutely love. Arthur Morgan is one and the other is Walter White from Breaking Bad. The funny thing is both characters received a terminal diagnosis that became the catalyst for a remarkable transformation of their characters. For the better with Arthur Morgan and for the worse with Walter White.
If you don't end up meeting or interacting with Sister Calderon you have the same type of conversation with Reverend Swanson (which i got in my very first playthrough) and ill never forget that conversation. Went pretty much the same way but a more familiar face talking to you.
I finally finished the game so I could watch your video on Arthur. After watching it I just had to watch your take on Dutch. I love your point of view and I think I have to agree with you! Thank you for the great content, I'm still feeling the high of finishing this game after taking it all in over 125 hours and your videos are an extension of that pleasure ❤
I also think the "you can't fight gravity" is also him realizing the next thing he has to do and kind of playfully wording it. "You can't fight Gravity, which I know because I have just decided to jump to my death" I may be reaching but that's how that line felt for me. Just that charismatic way of announcing it really gives "dutch" vibes to me
I think the game does a good job of depicting tb, and why it was referred to as consumption at this time. The idea that something was eating you from the inside.
Dutch is the guy that you mates with in school and 10 years later you see him down at the local train station tweaking on gear
I agree for the most part, I will say though that Dutch definitely shows some Narcissistic traits, especially the idolization/abandonment cycle where he focuses is love and adoration on one person until a new golden child comes along. You see this with how he went from dating Susan to Molly to trying to get with Mary-Beth, and how he went from Arthur to John to Micah in the end.
My favorite character is Milton Berles legendary cock
ive never seen myself being able to take story games seriously, i would always joke about the characters n whatnot, not caring who dies and who lives. fast forward to rdr2, i got it a week ago, and i played it nonstop until i finished it. Despite doing my usual routine of making fun of the npcs and characters, i actually stopped by chapter 2. I genuinely liked the storyline more than any other story game ive played. When the ending came around, i found myself tearing up 30 minutes before the end, and was crying like a baby until 30 minutes after. ive never been more emotionally attatched to a group of fictional characters in my life, especially arthur. the game changed me. absolutely beautiful
Arthur is one of the best fictional protagonists in awhile, he reminds me of Guts and Kratos, since they were all men who did heinous things in their youth but grew to change as they got older, just all around complicated men, it reminds me of a question “Is it better to be born good or overcome your evil nature and be something greater than who you used to be?”
Finally a video not saying "Dutch was always crazy blahblahblah"
I know this video is about Arthur but I feel like the nun could have been Sadie in a former life. A life without Dutch.
This is why I want to see a RDR3 covering events that were only hinted at in 2 but clearly _very_ important to the characters and their motivations. Events like Arthur falling in love, raising a son, and then losing it all. The same happening to Dutch minus the son, and Hosea... effectively making the whole original gang widowed souls. I think all three of them were very different men, for Arthur, it hardened and broke his heart. For Hosea, it made him softer and more appreciative of the little things. And Dutch? I think it broke him. I think it was the first step in a long and slow journey towards the man we first saw in RDR1. I know people say "it doesn't need a sequel" but I said that about the first game, and I still stand by it, the first Redemption was a flawless story on it's own... but now that it's a duology I can't help feeling like we've only seen two thirds of the major story so far. I wanna see what that original gang was like, in their prime, three steps ahead of the law, fresh off the loss of their loved ones, with hot young blood like John Marston and the Callander brothers bolstering their numbers. Mac seems the prime suspect for a new protagonist that can be easily retconned into the story. As it is in the game... Dutch is honestly kind of an asshole from the start specifically to John and Arthur, and towards the end of the game it's so obvious he sees them as foot soldiers it's hard to understand why they stick with the gang at all... A third and final chapter to the trilogy would really solidify this relationship and show where that bond stems from.
geralt of rivia much better
I like to think Dutch did truly care for the gang and Arthur and John in particular but as time moves on and the heat on them grows he finds himself desperate in his need for attaining wealth and fighting against the things he's fighting and the anxiety and desperation cause him to make worse and worse decisions worsening their chances. At a certain point it becomes blind vengeance against everyone here felt was against him. There's clear progressive change in his character and his disposition
I kid you not when Spider-Man aAND the first new GOW had dropped and never playing the first one and also NOT really being in to cowboys and stuff this completely flew under my radar until 2 YEARS after it came out… now Arthur Morgan is truly ONE of my all time favorite protagonist up there Joel, Sly Cooper, Nathan Drake and a few more I have more hours on this game the Spider-Man and GOW and I got plat for both of them 😭
This video has been in my Watch Later playlist for over a year now as I was playing the game very slowly, taking in every breath of that world and story. I can finally watch this now that I have just finished my first run of this amazing experience! And I just saw that you recently made a video about Dutch, how delightfully well timed <3
As for Micah, I still wonder about a theory that Milton lied about Micah's betrayal for the purpose of letting the gang destroy itself from the inside. Maybe he wanted Abigail or Sadie to be a tool for that (that is if he indeed wanted to kill Arthur instead of letting him do it)
Seeing a red dead red redemption mc and it not being John, I had no interest in playing the game, but I'm so glad I did. Arthur deserves his place as one of the best western antiheroes in gaming alongside John.
music is a bit too loud
I didn't pick up on this until the second playthrough but Sadie yells at the O'Driscolls in the gunfight at Hanging Dog Ranch in chapter 6 that they burnt down her home, but it was actually Micah
Wait, you don't think narcissist is only a cold-blooded person who can't think of how they can move people, right?
I think he does care. But he's kinda dumb yet we'll spoken.
The most pivotal moment for Dutch is obviously the death of Hosea 12:17
I haven't been the same since I played this game.
24:38 “John made it.” Best part of the entire story, and really both games if you think about it. Best game ever.
Note: I want to apologise for the audio quality of my microphone. My equipment is starting to show its age and I promise I’ll make a significant improvement on the next video.
It sounds like you have a plan
Honestly, I can’t find myself hating Dutch. At least, not to the level I hate Micah. When Micah died, I was ecstatic. When Dutch died, I felt nothing but sadness and pity.
Bro what happened to your microphone You might wanna fix the audio in this
the man literally did nothing wrong. He didn't betray anyone and he acted like any reasonable gang leader would in almost all of these scenarios.
I wish real life looked as good and realistic as red dead redemption
Hearing some his coughs ... its heartbreaking ive had a cough like that a few times Not from anything just a bad cough and man that wheeze struggling for breath Red dead 2 is amazing story telling and a beautiful game story wise and graphics
04:58 - That moment hits hard
Sorry but NO you’re playing devil advocate And defending a narcissist POS. How hollow your entire argument is exemplified by how you start : IMAGINE - you say it three times in a row as you’re about to enter your defense of Dutch character. That’s literally your starting point : "imagine "Let’s pretend there’s more to the fact Dutch actions are black. You WANT to see more in him. You dont start from the facts, you start from the wish. Here’s a better starting point - it is not wish , it is a FACT right at the very beginning of the game : the game gives you a journal. And within its VERY FIRST journal entry , BEFORE all the crazy events happen, the game hints at you the nature of Dutch RIGHT FROM THE START. In the very first entry of the journal, it is stated the gang led a happy life in the area of the Northern Grizzliess - so happy in fact they were very close to buy some land . Dutch singlehandedly killed it, alleging some vague feeling the law was onto them. The reason is pretty clear in retrospect : it would have meant the end of the outlaw life. Here comes in the infamous Tahiti dream. Tahiti is absolutely perfect-Nobody can talk with Tahiti and make it a reality to actually retire the gang. Nobody knows Tahiti besides Dutch. Nobody can measure how much money Tahiti takes besides Dutch. There’s never enough money for Tahiti. Tahiti is an horizon - always pursued, never reached. That’s why Dutch is enamored with Tahiti. Simple Truth is : Dutch doesn’t want to quit. Ever. He wants to stay a gang leader all his life and pulls off capper that will have everyone talk and admire his genius , fund his whims and put the gang under his unchallenged command. Dutch enjoys way too much being a gang leader and he doesn’t want it to stop, quite the contrary. Tahiti is the masterpiece of a consummate liar. both real enough to give something to dream about BUT far enough to justify endless outlaw adventures. Adventures that will require his “brilliant” leadership, his “plan”. That’s all he really wants : to lead people and have people worship him. That’s why he’s evil. He’s a malignant narcissist at his core. And when challenged he immediately gets angry. And when push comes to shove, anything or anyone must be sacrificed to his grandiose idea of himself. That’s why he’s different from John and Arthur. I can see why youngster are impressed by Dutch charisma but he’s evil. Always has been. It was harder to see at first but the foundations were there from day one. It takes time to become desperate and show his moral ugliness. It was just a matter of time before real life caught up and he then indulged in increasingly loathsome acts to protect his grandiose sense of self and deadend sociopathic lifestyle. Dutch was a narcissistic POS that simply sacrificed more and more and more to maintain his grandiose sense of self. Until there was nothing left to sacrifice : until he had sacrificed the best and had everyone of value killed either by shortsightedness or selfishness . Until he was left with the worst Micah. Until he could no longer avoid looking at the reality himself and see how ugly he was. And THEN he turned proper mad. Because deep down he knew it was very much his own doing. And he couldn’t reconcile that with his ego. So he went proper mad. May he/those kind of messiah rot in hell. You’re doing the devil work by pretending he’s misunderstood. That’s how narcissist get their claws in. Their charisma always seduce the weak minded but they leave nothing but ruins in people lives.
What happened to the mic?
It’s a shame we can’t hogtie Micah and leave him in Sadie’s house in the beginning of the game.
A part of me died on that mountain
The boat scene with bronte never made much sense to me they kidnapped him and had him tied up alone in the swamp right after they killed all of his men they were going to kill him no matter what I don't see why drowning while giving an angry speil is really so shocking
10:50 I think the trolly crash in St denis where Dutch hit his head is the real turning point for him
My interpretation is that there always were moments when Dutch became unhinged, or members doubted him, or disaster/death happened to the gang, it’s just those were relatively infrequent events. In 1899 a perfect storm happened were the was setback after setback with no recovery time between them.
They should make a RDR2 spinoff with young Arthur .
I think Dutch holds deep beliefs and his love for the gang is true, but he's often in conflict with his own worse nature, and the world keeps not living up to his hopes and this makes him more and more bitter, at the world and everyone in it. He falls out of love with the gang because most of them disappoint him, and he comes to despise the world that can't live up to any of his beliefs.
Finally a good video on Dutch. The idea of him being a crazy narcissist is just dumb & doesn’t make any sense.
Why did Dunce betray his own family? Is he stupid?
