@TheNerdLounge Thanks, although I've said it in a very brief manner. Void seems to be the chess player, Slan seems to be the newest Godhand besides Femto, she was the ony who showed interest in Guts. I'd bet some money too that Void knew she'd play with Guts and he suspects/knows she will not betray, but more so use Guts for her own sake, just as Femto played with him too, although I doubt he thought that the corrupted baby would be used as a medium by the Egg/Femto. As of now, if she shows herself now, she will either try to seduce Guts/Beast of Darkness, or she will give him one good shove to move on, as she feeds of his intense emotions. Beast of Darkness, if truly manifested, ought to be a rampaging beast like no other, something similar to that wolf of norse myth, forgot the name

@@TheNerdLounge To add, the only way Godhand can be dealt with is if there was some sort of a coup between them. Also, to add, Slans "help" can be not actual help, but the last shove for Guts to lose himself completely to the beast or help him tame it and use it, because so far it was the beast who uses Guts to run rampant whenever it can and ultimately run free. If it so happens that the beast manifests, he'll be scarier than the Godhand

I think saying it “looks like shit” is absolutely ridiculous. The art, especially in the last few chapters, is extremely solid and I would say does live up to expectations (considering the artist you are comparing to has passed). Regarding his legacy, I think this is the perfect spot for it to be in - being heralded by his best friend. He said he wanted to finish, so this is exactly what he asked for.

What exactly would you say the issue is with the panelling - do you have any specific examples?

@@TheNerdLounge This will all sound really negative and just hate bashing. I've wanted to make a video on panelling for quite a while. It's something you have to see, not explain. There's a lot of issues I see in manwha and modern manga that have terrible framing, camera angles, and shot choices. If I were a manga editor, I'd have all my mangaka take animation and storyboard classes. Panelling and staging, in my opinion, is the most underrated but most useful skill in manga. TotallyNotMark has a couple good videos on panel design. Some of them are relevant to the recent chapters: th-cam.com/video/-hw41i-O2ps/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=TotallyNotMark But maybe I'll make and edit a video on this specific Berserk chapters. They are insanely clunky. I wonder if Kouji Mori (Miura's best friend and current overseer of the Berserk continuation) was the one who storyboarded these chapters. They remind me a lot of the clunkiness in Holyland. Also, the artists have the detailing correct, but the perspective control for the characters is always a bit askew, like they don't understand where the horizon line is. There's just sooo many issues that bother me as an artist. It's cool to see a team of passionate people continue Miura's work, and I love that people are still reading it with great excitement, like you.

@@Websiteology see I didn’t have it spoiled, but we all knew something was coming from the way the Black Swordsman Arc builds Griffith up. Also, there’s a lot of good twists in the rest of the story, and the journey is well worth it even with spoilers!

I’m glad you enjoyed it. For me, I just felt it was a let down for a Wolverine comic, and a letdown for a Nihei manga - but I’m glad that some people can appreciate it!

@TheNerdLounge Hey, there. I'm saying this, not to be confrontational or start an argument, but to have a healthy discussion ( a rarity on today's internet lol): In my opinion, plot/dialogue has never been Nihei's strong suit (granted i haven't read all of his work). In my opinion, his art style - probably due to him having been an architecture student - has always been what is so amazing about his work; although later on, it started to lose that uniqueness and detail. So i don't understand why some people expected a very intrique plot or dialogue filled book from him. But i do understand why some people dislike the style. I would also have loved to see more dialogue and more details about the enemies, the world, etc ; it never hurts to have those, especially in science fiction, where it's so important to have those details. But it has never been his style. Even in his most known work, Blame, he let the drawings be the storyteller and left a lot of it to our interpretation as readers. Almost like pieces of a puzzle that we have to put together and then mix our own imagination with those. I wonder if he hired a writer to work with him, to fully flesh out his ideas (i haven't checked if he ever did that) and fully focused on the drawings, what would come out of it. All the best!

I’m definetly not thinking your being confrontational - thank you for this comment! I see what you mean, but there was a certain atmosphere to Blame! that isn’t present here. And I think that’s the problem, he’s trying to “not storytell” in a manga that feels like it has a story to tell. I know it’s his style, but it felt like his style didn’t fit this story or medium….

@TheNerdLounge Oh, gotcha. That is a very solid and fair point. I had actually never thought of it from that perspective. This is why people should have more healthy discussions about their points of view. No one is ever wrong or right when it comes to liking or disliking something; it's all about perspective. And there is certainly nothing wrong with not liking something other person did or vice versa. Hopefully, he gets another try at a Wolverine story one day. I would love that. And i would absolutely love a full fledged or at least a nice lengthy Blame anime. I am sure anyone would have a really hard time matching Nihei's art but it would be amazing nonetheless; if they could honor it, and maybe even improve it on certain aspects.

I do like the lore and setting and all that, that's why I'm curious on how it all ends. Anyways, I'll be on lookout for your recap of book 3.

@It depends on how you view it. Some people say it's not a continuation of Berserk because the author died in 2021 (RIP). Others say because Kentaro Miuras best friend is overseeing the manga now, (whom allegedly knows how the story ends) that the story is continuing just as Miura intended.

@@FaithlessSaint The story is continuing, otherwise they would not have continued the story and put all their assets on it. The friend of Miura does indeed know the ending of Berserk and the reason the chapters take so long to make, is because they don't really know HOW to get there but they know where they have to get. It's like knowing the dish but not its recipe.

@@TheNerdLounge People in the fate community often argue about where to start. There are two options: Fate/zero or Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works. I started with Fate/sn UBW, there is a prologue where everything is explained. Fate/zero takes place before the events of fate/sn UBW but the plot isn't as well explained for new viewers. In my opinion, the correct order is: 1. Fate/sn UBW 2. Fate/zero 3. Fate/sn Heaven's Feel I, II, III. After watching all this, you can watch any other fate with understanding.
