I just read through the entire series this last year. I was a fan of the anime in the late 90s when I was in high school and gave it a rewatch a few years back... last year I just made the executive decision to start collecting the Deluxe editions Now I'm totally caught up on the story and it's been an incredible journey... I'm nearly 41, no tattoos... but am legitimately considering getting the brand of sacrifice tattooed. The story telling of dealing with trauma and pushing on just REALLY hits Easily the best story i've ever experienced in any form of medium.
