A week after relaxing, a protein treatment is a must to fortify and strengthen your hair, but always follow up with a deep moisture treatment (without protein) to prevent stiffness. If your hair was over-processed, aim for protein treatments twice a month, always followed by moisture. If under-processed, focus on more moisture treatments until your hair recovers. Keep doing your oil treatments before shampooing, and remember, it will take time for your hair to bounce back. If the shedding continues, seeing a professional stylist might help. It's a protein treatment called the Aphogee 2 minute reconstructor. However, I no longer use this product. I would recommend the ORS hair mayonnaise if you are looking a good protein treatment.

So the thing is, you're absolutely right about the thickness of this oil. I don't apply it as a daily scalp oil. I only use it before washing my hair at times. Your hair will get the benefits of castor oil by leaving on your hair the night before your wash day or a few hours before you wash your hair.

One way to tell is easy breakage, dear. Breakage means the hair is breaking mid way or at the ends with any little manipulation.

I used to when I started using it and when my hair was weaker. But now I use it during the first 2 to 3 washes post-relaxer to help strengthen my hair.

No, you shouldn't wash your everyday. But you can moisturize your hair every 2 to 3 days with a moisturizing hair lotion to keep your new growth soft. Washing your hair weekly should help with the Flakiness. If it persists, I would recommend you see a professional dermatologist for more options.

I no longer moisturize daily, but once to twice a week, depending on how my hair feels with Ors hair lotion and a small amount of jojoba oil to seal the moisture in.

Well, with this one, I found that it is hot but not enough to burn your scalp if you get close enough. Also, parting your hair in small sections would give it a better chance to stretch your new growth. This was my experience with it so far. I'll be sure to let you guys know if anything changes in the future.
