I used that Shea Moisture shampoo before one time in 2016 and it locked up my hair. Never again! I have not touched a Shea Moisture product since then and the locking has never happened again either. Adding heat to protein is not great either because heat denatures protein and makes it tough. Think heating an egg, when the protein is heated the gooey protein of the egg hardens. That's what happened to your hair by using heat with the protein treatment, it hardened on top of your hair.
Thank you once again to show us your Routine I do have those products and I love it. I have Never had Protein overload with them But it was Nice to See how you fix it with ors Shampoo and humecto keracare. I just ordered the acv from Creme of Nature from your past Videos and I do enjoy it. Thanks Cassy
Nice video… I was thinking of buying the shea moisture raw shea butter deep moisturizing line but I have been going back and forth I may just go back to KeraCare…
Yes, this shampoo contains protein, but yet it left my hair feeling soft. I shouldn't have been okay if I had skipped the hair masque and went for a deep moisture treatment instead.
I wish I would’ve known this years ago! I had protein overload which made my hair break off badly! I ended up cutting off most of my hair. Maybe, I could’ve saved it if I had known 😢
I have a hooded dryer and I am looking into buying a hair steamer .do you think it is worth it to buy a hair steamer while I already have a hair dryer?
Adding a hair steamer to your routine can offer additional moisture and benefits, especially if you have dry or damaged hair. It helps open up hair cuticles, promoting better absorption of products. Consider your hair needs and preferences before deciding.
Your hair is gorgeous 🩵💎Oh yes I just realized protein heavy products do that to my hair when I used them constantly without moisture products… I’ve had to cut so much hair because of this.. Loreal hydraluron conditioner and leave in save me every time
My hair does that tangled each time I wash my hair too..I thought my hair hate water...please I got the ORS, what keracare u used that has no protien? I want the day I can comb my hair so smooth too
Great video. If I use a heavy protein shampoo and deep conditioning treatment, I will then follow up with a moisturizing deep conditioning treatment after. My protein day consists of deep conditioning protein treatment on my damp hair before I wash it. The. Rinse out and use a moisturizing shampoo and and then do A moisturizing deep conditioning treatment under my heat cap. I do want to get a steamer so as to use At least once a month. 😊
I’ve been relaxed for 3 years now and I’ve learned not to stray from the products that i know work for me. All i use are redken’s bond reconstructor right before i do a touch up and right after i get my relaxer. Then i use redken’s clarifying shampoo followed up by keracare’s moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. Then as a leave in i use mizani’s 25 miracle milk and seal with the olaplex oil if i flat iron my hair or the Moroccanoil hair oil if i air dry. This routine hasn’t failed me yet and i went from a pixie to almost bra strap length in these 3 years. I’m so glad you were able to save your hair! Better to lose some sleep than lose your hair 😅
Listen i just realized about 5 days ago that i have protein overload. All along i thought i was aware of evrything i needed to do fr my hair to thrive but boy was i wrong!!!!! I have basically been using deep conditioners that are high in protein week after week. To name wats in my stash: silicon mix original, aphogee 2 minute reconstructer (used d aussie right after tht nd i had and my hair was hard. My hair doesnt agree with aussie) megagrowth, cholesterol, pantene, aphogee hard treatment ( and after tht following up with what i thought was a moisturizing deep conditioner, ors sweet orange oil conditioner..... then to make it worse, i would leave my leave in conditioner that was "keratin kissed" theeeeeeen i used megagrowth hair lotion (that was when i ran out of the ors moisturizer) tell me that i didnt put my hair through a death sentence!! I did a lot of research over a 2 day span re how to recover from protein overload and deep conditioner that are 100 percent protein free. The next day i ordered the big tub of keracare deep conditioner (i have high hopes for this like i had for aussie so fingers crossed), mielIe mongongo oil hydrating conditioner, sauce beauty deep moisture hair mask, and keracare hydrating shampoo (bare in mind that i had to purchase these 2 days after i receive my amazon order of 2 ors hair mayonise, 1 64 oz silicon mix, 1 big bottle of aphogee hard protein treatment). I normally wash my hair on tuesdays but when i had learnt tht i was killing my hair, i could not wait for tuesday to come. I had blended ripe Bananas and orange as a diy protein free deep conditioner but i was hesistant to use it (its still in mu freezer rn nd im still weighing my mind about whether it would be of more harm than good to my hair) I washed my hair the friday with a clarifying shampoo that i had bought that same day and deep conditioned with the olive oil deep condition by original africas best (now i know that that has some amount of protein in it but because the proteins were listed so far down, i risked it. That was the best chance out of all the products i had. I am waiting on the order of the keracare deep conditioner with the others. Its safe to say that I have protein based deep conditioners that can last me a lifetime 😂😂😂😂 smh
It's crucial to balance protein and moisture for healthy hair. Focus on protein-free deep conditioners moving forward. I have not tried any DIY with fruits or vegetables yet actually. Something I am thinking about though.
@CassysHairCare so now that I left an epistle raving about the kercare dc on your other post, how long do you recommend using only protein free dcs? I have fine hair
This exact same thing happened to me after using bloody aphrogee 2 step nonsense… I had to go and wash my hair again with a clarifying shampoo like head and shoulders .. I lost so much hair. I was SHOOOOOOOKKKK
Thanks For Watching! Happy Holidays Lovies 😘! Don't forget to Like & share with someone who's struggling 😩!

That's very kind of you! Actually, that's how I usually detangle my hair.

Nice video… I was thinking of buying the shea moisture raw shea butter deep moisturizing line but I have been going back and forth I may just go back to KeraCare…
Thank you!! It is a great line, but watch out for their protein content. You might not be able to use all of them at the same time.
The raw shea butter deep moisturizing deep conditioner does not contain protein, it’s different from the manuka honey line
Oh the shampoo contains protein?
I only use shampoos that contain protein when I clarify. Thankfully you noticed it and fixed it

Thank you 🙂! Yes, too much protein at once is definitely a problem that could cause so much breakage if it's not corrected right away.
My hair does that tangled each time I wash my hair too..I thought my hair hate water...please I got the ORS, what keracare u used that has no protien? I want the day I can comb my hair so smooth too
The Keracare humecto conditioner has no protein in it.
Great save ❤️
Thank you!!!
Hi! Which KeraCare Deep Conditioner product did you use after the second wash, please?
I used the keracare humecto deep conditioner.
@@CassysHairCare Thank you for taking the time to respond. I appreciate it. Lovely hair!

Yes, once you find the ones that work , lock them in for sure 🙂. Oh yes, girly, I had to compromise my sleep that night for sure lol.
