Will Thunder Laser's Hold Up?
มุมมอง 824หลายเดือนก่อน
We run pretty much 100% production jobs on our Thunder Nova 51 100w Laser. So how does it hold up to long production runs? These things will hold up to anything we throw at it. From 30 sec engraves to hour long jobs, the machine has handled everything we can throw at it. This is a full review of the machine after over 184 hours of constant cutting. Flipped a 1965 Mail Truck to a School Bus || WestCoaster Mailster Gas to Electric
มุมมอง 13K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
We purchased a Mail Truck! This is a 1965 Westcoaster Mailster and we have 4 months to rebuild, convert to electrical, and turn it into a mini school bus. I have started TMCU, The Maker Collab University and we needed something really cool to bring people into our booth at events and conventions. So we picked up this old mail truck for $600 and turned it into this awesome Bus. This is something...

You should remove this video, so no one gets the idea of recreating this. NEVER do something unsafe to make a video like this or not to "show" a hazardous situation! You hurting or killing yourself or someone else is not worth any positive that may result. If you cannot find footage of an accident caught on film or an animation, never create one.
Me doing this knowingly and safely so I can show others and maybe save way more people is why I did it. This simple and easy video could save so many accidents and was well worth my small risk.

Very good video
Musical Grade.... That's a new one.
Yea it’s a classification of figure. Holds great tones in instruments
4+4=7? Man, no wonder none of my stuff turns out, I've been doing it wrong. Lol
🤣🤣
please tell me exactly what to use to oil my laser. brand name etc
3-IN-ONE Multi-Purpose Oil will work just fine
Yeah but same short show the proper way to do this maybe?
awsome
Thanks!
Rent a craine?😂 wtf
Muito bom !
Hey dude, just a little constructive criticism. You are off base saying belt driven is worst than gear. BTW belts have are more precise due to no gabs between gear teeth and longevity is no issue. It's all about the quality of material. Cars run 100,000 miles on belts with no problems, and there's many more stuff to say but I have no time! LOL
i enjoy your videos and if you are not an engineer you have a good head for anergy and material balances as well as mass transport and other physicvs phenomina. It took me a while to figure out what you were getting at while wondering is one could isolate thye vacuum to zones. . Zoning is easy to comprehend moreso than you think :-). you are a good person to explain things to people.a 9 x 4 CNC could be quitye rigid compared to 8 x 4. If one doesn't need 4 ' wide they could save a lot with even better rigidity! I may have a custom phantom made. You're very creduble. I'm a scientist, not an engineer but much the same
Thanks for the kind words. Appreciate that
Ingenuity and lots of work in such a short time period. Fun to watch…. great job you two!
Thanks so much. Appreciate that.
what's for the info. but are there technical audio difficulties?
Great video Nick! Great information!
Thanks Nolan. Appreciate that
Excellent information and details. "Laser"
Thanks man!
Use a metal polish like Mothers Aluminum polish to bring your mirrors back to life.
Oo I will try that. Thanks for the tip
we have used over a dozen Thunderlasers on our craft items, running them upto 18 hours a day, earlier models were running around the clock in shifts, running 7 years without a breakdown, then more units were added and they are still im dailt production work, awesome machines,
Thats awesome! Tough units. Congrats on the great business.
👍👍👍👍
👍🏻👍🏻thanks!
My mirrors have shown that coating coming off before and I replaced it as well. I really do want to upgrade the laser to be even bigger and have the kind with the built-in camera for easy placement of designs.
Yea those cameras are nice and really helpful. Bigger is better haha
Jesus H...I don't think a factory rep could have explained it better!
They should pay me for it 🤣
how many cfms does the pumps from phantom run?
Is there anyway to add dog holes to your spoilboard and still use the vac table? Thanks for the video
You could but understand that those areas would have less air flow to them and could allow air to escape depending on where the cut throughs are after parts are cut.
5 if you count a plasma CNC i have now too
HOW MANY CNC HAVE YOU OWNED????? 2 OR 3 ...
I have my 4th unit now.
completely agree with the "unrigid" comment as I own a CNC4NEWBIE machine built the same way. To the @livid_idiot comment below about becoming a phantom dealer, well I've put my hands on a Phantom and it is a FAR CRY better than most machines on the market for comparable or less money. Don't take it personally because you can't afford one! I am certainly planning on moving away from this CNC4NEWBIE toy to the Phantom in the near future
What about if a roller step down on the edge of the material?
Depends on the machine you go with. All but one unit Phantom has use automatic rollers so the rollers raise when they are towards the front or back of the machine to prevent this. Manual machines would roll off if you dont have scraps or something to aid.
You need to make it longer so more people can go in
Haha we could so add onto it. Or make another it can tow!
What do you call the metal fasteners? Does Lowe’s and Home Depot carry those?
The build is part of the fun. And more importantly. If you fear the build, then this may not be your cup of tea. Don't spend a fortune before you find out. The software still must be learned before you can make anything. I bought a little $300 one to see if I liked the work. Learn to use a computer with it. Now, have one that costs just under $1000. It's great and I enjoy it. Thinking to go to a 4ft x 4 ft. As I'm getting better using it. Didn't spend too much, I'm way more likely to not crash a very expensive one learning. That's my take for what it's worth.
That came out awesome!
Thanks so much!
Mails are transitioning to busses now...
Haha took the trainy out of it too
Thunder USA needs to get their act together. Thunder South Africa delivered my Nova 51, split it to get it into my office, re-assembled the machine, did the whole installation, set it up in lightburn with a license for the first year and then after checking the laser alignment, gave me 4 hrs of training on the spot. The only thing I had to do was provide the hole for the exhaust fan. They even brought the water for the chiller, a sheet of 3mm black and clear acrylic each , a self inking stamp and stamp rubber, 2 sheets of 3mm MDF, a sheet off brushed gold on black and a sheet of white on black. That's what you should get when you spend this much money on a machine.
I'm curious how this holds up. Looks like there's a very small amount of glued material holding the net onto the handle.
So far so good. He has been fishing with it for 2 years now it seems
That's awesome. Good to know the glue holds that well. I thought about using dowels but I'm going to scrap that idea if the glue holds it well.
Love when you "daav" into things lol
Haha southern talk right there
This video is pure propaganda for that phantom table. Total garbage comparison.
Hate you feel like that. Paying for both machines 100% it was as honest as I could make it
Cool build!
Thanks so much!
We absolutely loved helping out and following along with the build!! It turned out amazing and we were so happy to take ride at WBC!!
So thankful to have you all in our corner. The products were so easy to use even though we had never done anything like this before. The paint came out so good!
You need to be more clear. Sooo... which one do you recommend?🤔
🤣. I like both but one is better for what I do so yea haha
You guys did such a great job on this! 👏👏👏
Thank you so much!!
Me and the kids watched! Haha they loved it. I have already said but major props to you both. Proud of you guys!
Thanks. Glad the kids like it!
Loved seeing the whole journey seeing yall get excited over the little things was well worth it!! Keep up the great work!
Thanks man. Means a lot.
Looks nice. I noticed one concern. This is the only bus I have seen that only has a drivers seat. The back would look killer with a bench seat against the sides. 😊
Oh yea it would haha. You are right
@@Statedwoods had a van that had the front bench. Behind it on the driver's side installed two bus seats along the side. On the other side installed installed one and a half bus seats welding the frames together. This allowed room to get in from the sliding door on the side. We drove that van all over the country. Six of us. At six two I could roll out a sleeping bag on the floor in back and sleep. My siblings would use the bus seats and bench seat to sleep. You brought back great memories with this project. Thank you. Oh ya, brown van from the early seventies, and on the hood in white my mother painted "Charle Brown"
You guys should be proud! What an undertaking, all the things you all had to figure out were crazy. Way to go boys!!
Thanks so much Gary! It was a challenge and we taught ourselves a lot of new things.
Muito bom ! Parabéns.
Thanks!
This is so awesome!
So much fun and learning was had!
That tractor trailer passing had to be nerve wracking 😅
It absolutely was!
His face was so hilarious haha
Landon’s smile when the electrical was completed and the wheels moved was priceless! Good job guys!
I truly had no idea if it would really work. Thank the Lord it did!
It was so cool to see him do something he had never done before
I don't think the yellow is ever coming out of my work hat... I've washed it twice since and its not coming out haha.
Haha sorry about that! Our shop will forever be yellow too
