Could you in theory use a steam box to flatten twisted boards by using cauls and clamps to hold them flat? I have some twisted wood I can't joint and plane because they are already 3/4.
@@Statedwoods doesn't matter what outlet and also doesn't matter if it is GFI or not. I filled up to the fill line but still nothing. Next thing is to check the cord before assuming it inside the unit. I haven't used this one much and I always used distilled water. So there shouldn't be any mineral deposits.
I think perhaps maybe the steam hole should be in the center so as to keep the steam evenly distributed within the chamber. Otherwise, on end will get soft early and the other will take longer if it gets to temp at all. Just saying.
Good video is very helpful. Let me ask you a question. Do I have to drill another hole that steam is going to escape a little apart from the hole where steam is going into the steam box?
You need to drill a hole in the back at the lowest point to allow water to drip out. But nothing for steam. It has enough gaps on the door too not build up pressure too high
FYI. When cutting your dowel rods with the chop saw, you trapped your dowel rod between the saw blade and your stop. This is a potentially dangerous practice which could cause serious injury to the operator or anyone standing nearby. A better way to cut them would be on sliding miter bar with a short stop set on the fence closest to the operator. Thus allowing the dowel to be cut without being trapped between the blade and the fence. Hope that makes sense.
Great video. I think this is going to be my next build and it was good to see the steps you took to make this one.
Glad it was helpful!

You could try. Could work yea
Great video guys
Thanks Nolan!
Anyone else have this steamer and run into the issue of it tripping the outlet?
I never had that issue. Anything else on that outlet or breaker that could be raising amps?
