Australian Igloo: 28 nights out in the Australian backcountry.
มุมมอง 1.2Kปีที่แล้ว
My partner Indi and I set off on an adventure to the Australian high country. Inspired by the Inuits traditional shelter and building methods, we aimed to build an Igloo as a basecamp shelter to live out of while we explore and ski nearby terrain. While the 2023 snow season in Australia turned out to be far from an above average season in terms of snow fall, we still managed to successfully bui...
Making a Clay Pumpkin on the pottery wheel
มุมมอง 244ปีที่แล้ว
In this Video I attempt to make a clay pumpkin. It was going pretty well until the top started to sag a little too much. In an attempt to save it, I flipped it upside down on the bat. A little too much fiddling causes the base to crack and eventually there was no going back! In the end it was a fun project and good learning experience, leave a comment if you'd like to see a second attempt!

Hey guys, they grow up sooo fast!!!! Great attention to detail my man and been with you since the beginning! Love your stuff and keep creating awesome and inspirational builds and vids! From your New York people !peace
This is beautiful, deserves much more attention
👍👍👍Вы продаёте ?!Сколько стоит
Lovely 🎉
the rubber is quite old. I have been successful in partially rejuvenating mine by soaking it in silicon lubrication for days.
❤❤❤❤❤😊
Do you know of any places to buy replacement parts? I have a 1976 and someone took the drive wheel assembly out of it.
Try kreuger pottery
Where did you get the new bearings? And what size are they?
i'm in love with him and it.........can we buy these?
Legend thank u
Good job!
Nicely done 👏👏
a thing of beauty
Thank you!
Great work with both the restoration and video.
Thanks so much!
Satisfying process, unreal result! Great work chaps
Thanks Angus5795, you're the man
I love how accessible you guys make pottery! Membership cards, plastic, homemade tools. Love it!
Seriously 😳!!!!
Do you guys sell any of your creations or just for fun?
So nicely done! Looking forward to seeing it in action.
Thank you
Impressive!
Couldn’t you have put a grease fitting under the wheel, that you can grease on the regular?? 👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
My venco cone drive has a really noisy hum when turned on.. and when i used it for extended time. Like 3-4hrs. It'll lose power, make some weird sounds and start slowing down to a halt when centering. But when i rest it the next morning it came back to life. 🤣 Is it normal? Is there anyway i can service it like you did? That crazy drop and save though. Can't believe it survived.. 😂
What a wonderfully well made video!! Thank You
I especially enjoy the flash backs of the noisy non-functioning wheel, the the triumph of throwing a vase at the end with beautiful restored venco! CHEERS! ELY
Wow, the difference in sound is big. Will definitely be doing a refurb on mine, thanks for the great vid
Beautiful video. So nice to see the collapsed pot wasn't edited out. I'd love to know what the sharp metal tool used throughout the video was. It looked handmade.
That's just about the weirdest pulling style I've seen. Fine work, very nice teapot so obviously it works for you
I just found this video - and I am repairing my wheel - EXACT same model - Is there a wiring diagram available?
so beautiful!!!!!
Amazing vid! Thank you so much! Do you know where I can find these plastic/silicone rings you self made?
Amazing so cute I❤it
This is so beautiful! 😻 I have just thrown my very first mini vase on my mini wheel and was wondering how to turn the bottom. Never thought of making a mini chuck! Amazing work!🎉
Just picked up same wheel and am pulling down this weekend to do exactly this, good video
Thanks! I have a 1973 Shimpo. Works great but y'know...
The small belt in my ring one keeps coming off while the machine is running. Not sure what to do in this case? Is it the cone? Or is it the belt? Is it the cone positioning? What should be fixed? What would you suggest? Thanks
Watching your video was like meditating! Such beauty, all round! I have a wheel like yours in the UK, but lack the skills to fix it. I'm going to keep searching for someone who can help me though! I was also hopeful that the direction could be changed, so thank you for confirming!
Hey! The part number you shared shows the bushings are at a 60 angle, the ones you installed look to have no angle on them, did you experience any issues with them?
Great job
Thanks for making this video. I have a Shimpo Aspire and it feels like it has a tiny 'jump', but I can't figure out what the heck is wrong with it.
Thanks for the great video. I have a wheel the same as this one. It still works well but is very noisy. Where would I get new bearings from?
Awesome! I got one of these a year or so ago, also a 1977, from my local high school that they gave me because it stopped working. It has exactly the same problem of the motor not engaging the wheelhead. I'm so glad that I found this and can finally fix it, as my multiple phone calls to Shimpo weren't very effective.
I saw one for sale on FB for a $1000 dollars..all new bearings..wondering if its a good investment? Whats your opinion please?
Wow❤
It was perfect at 6:55. Do it again!
Good improv!
Thank you for this video! I have an old Tetlow wheel that needs bearings and a rubber (there isn’t currently on on the drive wheel at all 😳), but other than that, the motor and assembly is fine. Struggling to find someone who can fix it but I don’t want to give up! It is worth the work to restore.
You're welcome. It's always worth repairing them, feel free to send me an email and we can discuss further. Cheers
@@forgedandthrownthanks, I will do.
Wow! Ely Molloy here in north east US. Tetlow Melbourne sticker and name plate might make a nice tshirt! Keep up the videos! Keeping it wheel! Vintage! Right on!
@@forgedandthrown where did you purchase the new bearings and the wheel rubber ?
