    One of the nicest teapots I have ever seen thrown. Would very much like to have seen how you made the spout - in my mind, frequently a massive fail in wheel thrown pots.

      It is not HER forms, those shapes were invented in Chine during the Ming and Qing dynasty and all have specific names .
      This one is called a pear shaped pot with a pigeon spout .

    you work with the clay coming towards you! even on a anticlockwise wheel. Is this because you are left handed? splendid teapot by the way [cliff from london]

    I love it! Thank you for showing how you make it! I wonder at what time you made the holes in the pot, when it was wet, or when it already dried, when you put on the handle?

    • @mtsafer
      @mtsafer 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It would have been when it was leather hard, still some moisture in the clay so that it's not crumbly, but hard enough to not deform. Looks like he attached the handle immediately after attaching the spout.

    im trying to make a teapot for my independent study in ceramics, but im struggling, any tips?

    • @forgedandthrown
      @forgedandthrown  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the most challenging part of a teapot is balancing the proportions of lid, spout, handle, form of pot. its a difficult thing to explain, but when you're assembling the different components, try keep a sense of balance in mind, where the components compliment one another. Good luck!
