As some of the EV channels do, I charged from 10% for exactly 15 minutes to simulate a pit stop on a road trip. The idea is to see how many miles the car can recuperate within a convenient rest time before jumping back on the road. 15 minutes is a good amount to stretch, take a bathroom break, and grab some snacks. So many complications on the dyno today, and I apologize for that. Bad tach signal, AFR wasn’t working properly, and my clutch was slipping so peak torque went down. Good news is that peak power is up! Time to change the clutch and try again. Run 3 is the old best with the stock intake and throttle body. 232.5hp looks to be the number now. I don’t count the 234.1 because of that blip at the end...

    Nice! Ive also heard when you route to the supercharger don't route to the address but instead to the supercharger itself. When you do this it automatically preconditions the battery.

      @@ChosenMJ that’s correct. I did that in this case, but the preconditioning never turned on. Apparently the battery was already in the temperature range that it needed to be in for optimal charging. I was impressed that it held 250kw peak charge well past 30%, almost to 35%! Not bad at all for an older, lower voltage design.

      On a draw through supercharger system you can measure inlet restriction by reading vacuum before the supercharger rotors at WOT. You want it as close to 0inHg as possible, and at least under 2inHg. Here’s a quote and link that goes into it some if you want to read it. “One of the often-overlooked aspects of any supercharged engine is its induction system. Unfortunately for enthusiasts, positive-displacement superchargers are ultra-sensitive to inlet restrictions. Lucky for us, it's actually easy to determine whether the inlet system (basically anything in front of the spinning rotors) is restrictive. In the case of the 5.4-liter GT500 motor, a simple vacuum gauge hooked up between the throttle body and supercharger will indicate whether vacuum is present. If any vacuum is present when running at or near the peak engine speed at wide-open throttle, there's a restriction in the inlet system somewhere.” www.motortrend.com/how-to/m5lp-0906-gt500-supercharger-tests/amp/

      It’s a mechanically linked AWD dyno. All four wheels turn at the same speed because the rollers are connected.

    Very respectable The 2-3 shift looked like it bogged some...i know your setup is different now but those looking at this setup might want to raise limiter just a tad so 3rd lands at better rpm

      I have an Ecutek timer 1/4 mile run video in my channel that shows it barely breaking into the 13s. I don’t know how accurate that timer is, but the car felt really good for just E85 and bolt-ons.

      Stock internals. The ND1 long block is 100% original. I’ve never even unbolted the valve cover.

      Mainly because I’m filming the gauges with my phone and the tires will break loose on shifts. I also have an issue with this clutch above 7000RPM that I’m still trying to fix.

    Might be a bit late to the game, but how’s the reliability been? I’m thinking of doing the same but I haven’t heard much long term reviews of a supercharged ND. Mainly worried the transmission will blow up

      Everything has been reliable except the supercharger itself. I’ve had a couple of what I’d consider some freak issues with it, they don’t seem to be common problems. You will want to service the rear case bearings every 10k-15k miles I’d say which requires removing the SC head unit and opening it up. It’s a lot of fun, but it doesn’t come without some extra maintenance. I’m making 244whp+ now, made a few airflow improvements since that dyno, stock baseline was 145whp. My latest video uploads are of the current setup which is way better than this video’s setup.

      Bearing failure. I replaced the SC with a new one and had a similar failure in 10k miles. I'm invested in figuring out the issues with this SC and addressing them, but I would not recommend to modify it and push it beyond what it's advertised for. It's been a nightmare. I've addressed several problems already but its case bearings are still a weak point.

    Will this work on the 12' Cruze ecotec? I broke the nipple off the valve and don't want to wait on the new part then go through removing to manifold..

    Ive really been watching alot of your videos but im on the fence as i daily the ND1 RF i own. Would you recommend supercharger over turbo charger ? Or given the opportunity would you have stayed N/A ?

      If you go with the SC, get a Xero Limit tune. I regretted the SC until I switched to him because of drivability issues with the other popular tuner that I tried. I love it now. If you have E85 available, I’d say that E85, header, and muffler is a healthy combo for cheap. I picked up 40whp and 30wtq on my ND1 with header, muffler, and E85 tune.

      Also some spacers. That ziptie was just temporary to test it, I later put safety wire on it. The brake still isn’t very strong, but it’s better.
