I can’t say for sure, but from what I’ve seen E85 doesn’t add much peak power to this setup. It does keep the car running cooler and more consistently, and I believe it adds some midrange and low end power. The top end power is limited by the stock intake, stock throttle body, and the inlet on the supercharger. Once I get my new clutch installed I’ll go back to the dyno to retest this combination before I get the supercharger ported and inlet enlarged. The custom intake and throttle body I tested here looks like it’s helping the top end quite a bit, but I can’t know how much for sure until I get a clutch that doesn’t slip.
@@6GZL1 Thanks for the reply. And i am assuming this is a ND1? It will be amazing with 230whp/180wtq in a 2300lbs chassis. Must feel like a rocket ship. I ask about e85 is because E85 is not available here......do you know if this setup is track reliable? I have heard from the FM guys that the ND engine is only reliable up until about 200whp.
Peter Lee a lot of people track this engine with this supercharger kit making over 200whp. I don’t think the low to mid-200whp range is much trouble at this torque level. The car is an ND1. It’s a blast to drive already, and the clutch hasn’t been slipping on the street, just this dyno session. It’s not uncommon for a clutch to slip on the dyno before it would in real world use. I think once I’ve changed my clutch that peak tq will be back up to around 200wtq like it was previously, and I may even pick up a bit more power in the top end too.
@@6GZL1 Thanks. ND ownership is quite possible in my future when it's time to replace my BRZ. There is something about 2300lbs that really entices me......that or I will K swap the BRZ. There is something magical about super light weight chassis that I love.
Peter Lee I understand. I’ve had a lot of cars that were faster than this one but the feel of a Miata is very different. I prefer it to my Mustangs that I’ve had previously.
Damn that's awesome results! Keep it up. Am so surprised your trans is still holding up fine after all these miles haha
Maybe the clutch slip is saving it. 😂
Mind was done on the hub without wheels
Sorry nataphen I know you're frustrated
No worries. The new clutch is ordered, so I’ll be heading back to the dyno soon. :)
Any idea how much power does E85 add? Or I should ask what will be the HP/TQ figures if 91 was used?
