Agreed.. I think the issue is they don't know if it is going to be used for an end, a corner, or just a continuation of a run.. and you will have different cuts depending on what that piece is used for.. and there is so much variety in house layouts

When I had my roof done (with the crappy guards on there) the roofers did take them down to re-shingle. Honestly I don't think you *have to* because they only go under the last shingle a few inches.. but I have seen the pro's do it

First, thank you so much for the kind words and watching the video! Second, I LOVE the idea of the magnet in the pocket.. thats genius!!! Can you recommend a specific magnet and where to buy it? The strainer probably is silly.. I am considering removing it for the reason you mentioned.. I guess I just have PTSD from my last gutter system.. As far as the pitch is concerned I don't think it has to be exactly the same as the roof but it should definitely be pitched.. That steeper the pitch the more vital that little valley you create by bending it is so the water does not just run off during heavy rain.

@@Isitworthitreviews I ended up returning the one I bought. Like you said in the video, it's best to go with a "real" dehumidifier. A bigger, more traditional one. Those little mini charge-up ones don't get the job done and take too long to charge. Oh. Thanks for making the video to inform the public.

Thanks so much for watching... That is disappointing to hear that they no longer include the magnetic drill bit. I am wondering if that is just the Costco package that does as usually there has to be a kind of "value add" with warehouse clubs. When I get home I will check to see if I can see the size of the bit. You CAN use a non magnetic one but the magnetic bit does make life easier (and safer when on the ladder).

In the Costco box is a bonus offer for a free gutter guard brush after you register your product, you have to pay for shipping and handling (it was $4.99 or $5.99). I just measured the head of the screws and I believe I need a quarter inch bit. Thanks

To each their own.. I have luckily not had any issues.

A couple pieces of leaf debris are a lot worse IMHO. Roofs with zero leaf debris don't need these, but if you have high shade trees these beat constant cleaning.

I am not sure what you mean.. but the screws come with it so I would suggest using those.

@@Isitworthitreviews Oh my apologies, I didn't buy the same kit. Got ones from Home Depot with micromesh. I bought similar looking screws but didn't know how long the screws should be so I bought 1" long.

I am in NJ so we do have cold winters. I have not had any issues with ice hanging from them at all.. They have now been up for 2 winters.

Hi Barry, thanks so much for the kind words and for watching. Have no fear.. I took video on my lower roof.. I was only ever 2-3 feet off of the ground. When I did the main roof that was much scarier and I did not shoot video doing that.

Depending on the structure I would say that should take you about 40 minutes to an hour to do.. so whatever your labor rate per hour is I would charge that.

Thanks for watching. I am still using the downspout filter.. I figured 1: I already bought it so it couldn't hurt to keep it in. 2: The gutter guards are not perfect.. some dirt does get in (not a lot.. but not nothing) so I like it as a secondary layer of protection.
