    Great job of demonstrating how to install the gutter guards. One question though...would I have to take the gutter guards down to re-shingle my roof? I'd really prefer not to...lol. Your thoughts

    • @Isitworthitreviews
      @Isitworthitreviews 24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      When I had my roof done (with the crappy guards on there) the roofers did take them down to re-shingle. Honestly I don't think you *have to* because they only go under the last shingle a few inches.. but I have seen the pro's do it

  • @mikedunn7795
    @mikedunn7795 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Excellent video. A couple of thoughts. The gutter guard that worked was the micromesh type. You have them on at the same pitch as the roof,which I have read is *vital* ( if the guards are horizontal,or near so,they will collect debris like a shelf,and stop draining water). And finally,why on earth do you have a downspout strainer? Whatever grit that got through would not be significant,and would only be impeded by the strainer when going down the downspout. One final tip. I have shirts with breast pockets,and if I have to carry a bunch of screws up a ladder,I put a rare earth magnet in the shirt pocket,and plaster the screws on the shirt over the magnet,and pull them off as needed.

    • @Isitworthitreviews
      @Isitworthitreviews หลายเดือนก่อน

      First, thank you so much for the kind words and watching the video! Second, I LOVE the idea of the magnet in the pocket.. thats genius!!! Can you recommend a specific magnet and where to buy it? The strainer probably is silly.. I am considering removing it for the reason you mentioned.. I guess I just have PTSD from my last gutter system.. As far as the pitch is concerned I don't think it has to be exactly the same as the roof but it should definitely be pitched.. That steeper the pitch the more vital that little valley you create by bending it is so the water does not just run off during heavy rain.

    Purchased this last year at the end of the season on Amazon... was looking forward to using it yesterday getting the outside opened up. Opened the box, started using it.... and sooooo very disappointed. Not at all like the ad nor the commercial claims. My regular hose and with handle work better. Don't bother wasting your money... Total waste of money.

    Great video, question at 5:10 I see you have a downspout screen showing some blockage at the base. Are you still using it even though you installed a gutter guard?

      Thanks for watching. I am still using the downspout filter.. I figured 1: I already bought it so it couldn't hurt to keep it in. 2: The gutter guards are not perfect.. some dirt does get in (not a lot.. but not nothing) so I like it as a secondary layer of protection.
