D'Addario XT Classical Extended Life Silver Plated Copper Strings XTC45 Hear How Good They Sound.
After neglecting my guitars for too long I've strung up my Yamaha Classical Electric with D'Addario XT Classical Extended Life Silver Plated Copper Strings. I'll be posting another video to compare how well they hold up after a month or two using the same recording settings.
I've always liked silver plated strings on Classical Guitar but they usually don't keep their bright tone for too long.
Here is my Amazon paid affiliate link for the strings used in this video.

      I watched and it really did make a mess! I can't see them being able to fix these problems probably because of the quite different way that Dorico structures the music. It's a shame because Dorico has some nice features that I like. Beautiful composition BTW.

      Do you normally quantize something that's already working fine in one software? I actually type note-by-note and don't use piano keyboards to enter notes so there shouldn't be an issue. Also, why would it import into several other software programs almost flawlessly and not Dorico?

    $29.95 for a bunch of cheesy MIDI riffs with no control over drums/bass/guitar/anything ??? It's better to spend $49.95 on something like Magix Music Maker and get proper high quality loops that are totally configurable.

      Perhaps you're missing what Chordpulse is all about. I find it really fast to make a backing track in minutes that you can play along with. I checked out Magix and it doesn't seem like that's the case. It may work for you but for me I like to keep things simple. If I want to do multi tracking I'd rather do all the parts myself. Chordpulse can help to get that process started.

    I have found that the benefit of the Segovia scales is that they promote movement up and down the neck. In my experience it is easier to play across the neck but it limits you to the first string when you want to play higher pitches. By practicing these you gain more facility playing both across and up and down the entire fingerboard.

    From the wireless (IMO) the Saramonic sounds best, followed by Ulanzi. I was suprised that the Sony´s was that noisy, the Zwide sounded "robotic" maybe some AD-DA conversion going on, the rest 👎. BUT I´m old school and would rather roll out cables than mess around with wireless unless absolutely necessary, in fact I am so old school that I still use passive speakers + rack with amps and Digital Signal Processor for X-over......... So I would say the Fifine, its also noisy and you could probably get same or better result with the Samson q2u

    • @GuitarBasement
      @GuitarBasement หลายเดือนก่อน

      I usually only use wireless outside while moving around reviewing something. I find that the Zwide works great for this as it filters some of the external noise. I can easily talk while using a power wash for example. The Zwide has been my main choice for that because it comes in a convenient pocket-sized charger case. My new favorite though has been the Saramonic since it has a direct adapter for its powered receiver to go into the phone. Being powered it saves the phone battery. I can't just put it in my pocket though. All of the other more expensive ones need cables so they take a bit more time to set them up. I agree too that wired is preferable for inside. I got the Fifine at no cost so I'm just using it. Thanks for your obviously trained ears and your perspective.

    I recently got back into recording after using Pro Tools for years, and decided to take a spin around the DAW block to see what else was out there (because I became disenchanted with AVID, iLok, and the whole shebang). After installing Mixcraft, it struck me as "GarageBand for Windows" in terms of its simplicity, built-in instruments (which are very numerous), and workflow. While perhaps not the best DAW for professional mixing, I think it's great for songwriters who want an empty canvas to paint on.

    Thanks for a meaningful, useful demonstration. Hearing specific short passages BACK-TO-BACK enables *serious comparisions* and informed decisions. My guitars have Rosewood back and sides so I mentally "translate" the tone of your mahogany guitar, most of which sound to me "dryer and more fundamental" than Rosewood. I factor that into the equation, listen carefully and come to the conclusion: Phosphor Bronze for me. Again, thanks for thinking about what your audience really needs to know. Splitting the comparison into comparable passages demonstrating BOTH string types back-to-back is truly helpful.

    Waste of time,my friend.I play the instrument 50 years now,forced to learn them as a teenager at rhe conservatory and I wished to have spent the same time to practise the three- notes-on- a- string system,back then...😢You will never understand the modes,if you use these scales...they belong in another era

    • @GuitarBasement
      @GuitarBasement 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you go to the gym (which I don't do often) and just do one exercise then you won't get a balanced workout. Same on guitar. I wouldn't say Segovia scales belong in a different era, or have become obsolete as you seem to suggest. With Segovia you ARE learning related Ionian, and Aeolian modes as well as the relationships between melodic and natural minors for ascending and descending. I agree 3 notes per string scales are good and knowing all of the modes as well as other scales are valuable too. As well as playing actual music. Or, playing the scales musically, which is something I like to do when I have limited time and want to do a quick guitar workout. Thanks for your comment. You are probably an awesome player if you went the conservatory route. You may have gained more from it than you realize.
