You can do this in SE...As long as you don't need to adjust vertical spacing. That's a paid feature. Every single free score editor out there allows you to freely change spacing, but that is a feature which should cost money according to Steinberg.

You CAN adjust vertical spacing in the free version. Use Ctrl-Shift-L on a PC to open the Engrave options. Vertical Spacing options are there. Although you don't have the detailed level of control that you have in Pro with Engrave mode. Watch this Dorico video to learn about how the options work: th-cam.com/users/liveoGOhUlY-0Vc?feature=share&t=2180 Man, you made me do some work to figure this out! But the good thing is I learned something new and I confirmed that the settings do work in Dorico SE. Let me know if that was the limitation you were referring to.

@@GuitarBasement That 's one of them, but most of the score layout work you can only do in the Pro version of Dorico, as those are hidden behind Engrave mode, which you only have full access at Dorico Pro.

Yes, you are talking about adding multiple voices. With a note selected press Shift-V to add a new voice. Enter a note and it will be in the new voice. Use Shift V again to add more voices. To switch between voices, press V. You can also right click on a note and select "Voices" to find more options. Dorico is very powerful, but is not the most intuitive. I was thinking to do a video some time to explain what I have learned using Dorico for guitar. It would help me too for when I forget! Here is a good video to watch about voices: th-cam.com/video/IKBU7z0gAVo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=7rWLVEKW3cWw92KA

Also, here is an example for a guitar part that I made almost two years ago: th-cam.com/video/xrMN3nP_7Sg/w-d-xo.html. The video should play from about 7mins 54secs from the start. Good luck! John
