I respond to Michael Jones (Inspiring Philosophy) on the question of Christian Nationalism, pointing out the most foundational flaws of his case along with some examples of poor arguments based on such. If anyone is interested in working through the grammar by Mounce, I've got a free course that you can access on Odysee. My channel is called Biblical Studies. The videos are pretty raw. I was recording them over Zoom meetings so the audio isn't great and there are lots of other things about the presentation that could stand to be improved. But it's free and it will aid you through most of the textbook.

    As a paradigm book I would also recomend the Grammar book they give us at High School here in Greece. This would be ofcourse the Γραμματική Αρχαίας Ελληνικής by Μ. Οικονόμου (the full version). Now Granded, it is in Modern Greek but even if you know basic AG I think you can understand much of it. This is the only textbook (plus a textbook on Syntax) I used to learn AG. And yes I was taught a Grammar-Translation method but it worked. I would definetely recomend you getting your hands on it; it is on par with the big Grammar Books of Smyth, Blass and Cambridge Greek Grammar.

    I couldn't be bothered to watch the whole thing. Did you mention JACT's Reading Greek? I just use it like I use Lingua Latina Per Se Illustrata, namely, reading passages every day for a week before moving on to the next.

      Didnt mention JACT, I havent had the opportunity to sus it out well. Perhaps in a part two (which I am considering, mainly for auxiliary resources, like dictionaries)

      @@TheOtherPaul It's like Wheelock's Latin combined with LLPSI. I just ignore all the grammar stuff and use the passages for reading with audio.

    I used the UK’s OCR set from John Taylor. Greek to GCSE 1 & 2 then Greek Beyond GCSE. Then I just started using apps like the Greek NT from Olive Tree (With popup dictionary) and the Greek NT interlinear from Logos. After that I bought the Tyndale GNT for learning to read without the training wheels. I try to read along with modern Greek pronunciation using the chorusing method. Reading the Greek helped to spark my conversion to Christianity. I had always dismissed stories about Jesus, but reading them in detail and carefully (Due to my desire to learn Ancient Greek) was like reading them for the first time. The novum testamentum graece et latine is also great for developing the two languages at the same time.

    This was a very good analysis and response to the sort of anti Christian nationalist argument put forth by Inspiring Philosophy. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who feels their way of thinking is fundamentally flawed and lacks reason and justification. Keep up the great work! Also, looking forward to your spicy takes mentioned in the video.

    wtf does that have to do with egaltarianism? are you suggesting someone can't see everyone as equal without god? Brother, we are all biologically human- I don't know your thoughts or anyone else's and who am I to say someone is inferior and someone else is superior. Bilogical variation is a constant- there are no two people identical to one another, even twins have differences.

    The issue with protestantism is that every single random Joe on the street claim to understand the manual correctly, and if others have a different understanding of the manual then others are all wrong. Actually, the author of the manual orally explained the manual to the head engineer of the aircraft company, the head engineer then taught his students about the manual with the same explanation. But people read manual differently would simply dismiss the authority of the head engineer and the aircraft company, because those oral explanations are not in the manual. "Manual only" they say, the explanation by the head engineer and the author are not authoritative because they are not the manual.

    a great manipulator... all that Truglia says is an attempt to diminish the importance of the fact that, since the beginning, we find massive evidence of the universal authority of the bishop of Rome, as doctor of the faith and pastor of the Church unity - but of course, he pretends to be 'orthodox' because faithful to the witness of the ancient Church

  • @eddardgreybeard
    @eddardgreybeard 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Two things cannot be true at the same time, and the holy spirit is not the author of confusion. He did not lead the church in error for more than 15 centuries and turn around and start teaching protestants the exact opposite. For instance: The Holy Spirit isn't going to teach the Church across schisms the real presence, come down and consecrate the offerings to provide the real presence, and then turn around and teach protestants that Christ was speaking metaphorically and the entire thing is symbolic. Those are mutually exclusive conditions that cause division, and only one of them can be true while the other is heresy. And it's not going to be the historically recent beliefs within the last 5 centuries among low church protestants, as even the High Church denominations teach the real presence. But that's just one example. Another will be baptismal regeneration: Anyone that paid a bit of attention to the scriptural teachings would know Christ said it's mandatory and that the blood and the spirit are consubstantial with the water, and thus it would be the blood and spirit doing the saving, not the water itself. The holy spirit isn't consecrating the faithful and causing the rebirth that even low-church Protestants say is necessary and turning around and telling them that it's just an outward expression of faith that isn't necessary, and just the intellectual assent that Christ is Lord is necessary to cause this "rebirth." The Holy Spirit isn't the author of confusion, only one of those two can be true and the other is heresy. This idea that the body of Christ can have such varying and "perfectly valid" perspectives is a heresy in of itself. Christ charged his 12 apostles to go forth and teach all that he taught them, not 12 different perfectly valid perspectives. It's false ecumenism, there's only one truth, and it wasn't revealed 5 centuries ago while we were in the darkness for more than 15.

    Yes, precisely, but you have to be taught by an authority what the manual means. You can’t just pick up an airplane manual and understand it much less the divinely inspired word of God.
