Funny how i just beated the game using the starfruit strat on the roof levels even when i didnt even knew that it was an actual real strat, i just wanted a plant to fill my seeds bar and for a reason the starfruit attack pattern seemed good for the roof so i started using it just to try something different and it was really useful

who the hell was sayin scardy shroom is bad? late game, yes. it does as bad of a peashooter maybe even WORSE then peashooter because late game zombies tend to start trying to come behind your lines but it is the GOAT of early game.

I love love love replaying this game. I’m not a speedrunner or sole master strategist. But I love these videos for sleeping.

SCAREDY SHROOM SUPREMACY RISE UP

Honestly i don't really think Scaredy shroom is that bad. Its literally designed to be a nighttime peashoter, and its fear mechanic means it should be all the way at the back if the lawn. It can be outperformed by puff shroom but they due to their short firing coverage zombies with high health such as bucketheads spamming in every lane its hard to spam it too often. Scaredy is very good as a support plant and ever since i got it i always put it in my seed slots for nighttime levels. A long ranged attacker with a cheap suncost for nighttime levels is really good since most mushrooms are short ranged. I always use mushrooms at nightime no matter what lol so ye.

Honestly all of the arguments you bring up can be summed up to “I’m a speedrunner, and this is a speedrunner’s perspective”, even when you declare that “I’m looking at this with a casual’s perspective” I still believe that puffshrooms are S tier, sure I don’t need them in, say, day levels but they’re extremely reliable at what they do at night. When I discovered you can use them to stall during the day, they became even better. Like, say meta-wise winter melons are the better plant, they’re more direct at what they do. They’re pretty braindead to use. With puffshrooms I get more mobility when using them to stall, snowball in a night level, hell I even bring them to endless and survival to snowball. So yeah, puffshrooms are s tier for me because they’re unconventional. Wintermelons are s tier because they’re direct at what they do. Same coin, opposite sides.
