My Switches for the doors are on the top section of the door just inside. they both turn the door light on and off. The switch also only has 2 wires, and unless the light bulb is wired in series in the circuit it shouldn't have an effect. I do have 1 light bulb out.

My upper element measured 13 ohms, lower element measures OL. Called my plumber out and $170 later he says there’s no issue. He turned up the thermostat and said not to say anything. Still running low on HW after one shower. This hasn’t happened the whole 5 years I’ve owned it.
@@JustinSmith-hr6qgIf the bottom element is reading OL it's bad. When the water heater first starts it's heating cycle the top element comes on first since the water at the top of the water tank is first to exit the tank going to your faucets. Once that water is heated at the top half of the tank the new water that enters the tank at the bottom of the water heater needs to be heated with the bottom element. So with the top one good & the bottom one bad, you might have warm water at first then it will just get colder as it runs. I would call the plumber back & tell them u don't have hot water & the bottom element is no good. Tell him you checked it with your meter & it doesn't have continuity. Which means it's a complete circuit basically. Thanks for watching Justin & good luck with everything. Help support the channel by subscribing 🛠️👍
@ I appreciate the advice. I just went and verified again, it’s still showing OL on the lower. I’m going to call them back next week. If they don’t make it right I supposed I’ll be exchanging my first heating element. 😎
@@JustinSmith-hr6qg Sounds good. Good luck with everything & Merry Christmas 🎄
Your plumber sounds like a fool. Listen to the OP here, your bottom element is definitely bad. If your unit is new enough you may even be able to get it replaced for free under warranty, part costs at least.
@@guidedbygreen1480 Yep, I replaced both upper and lower the other day and we now have plenty of hot water. Put it to the test Sunday morning with four showers and a load of clothes in the washer. Still had hot water after all of that.
