Nice video. I've replaced a couple of T& P valves in my lifetime. Sometimes as they age the internal spring which determines the pressure rating (150 psi is the standard as far as every water heater I've seen) weakens and valve can drip under normal conditions. However because a T&P valve is a safety device designed to relieve under abnormal conditions to prevent the heater from litteraly becoming a bomb, it's a good idea to determine why it's leaking in the first place as well as the amount and temperature of the discharged water. Assuming you replaced a T& P valve and it still leaks. A small amount released during the heating cycle while no hot water is being used indicates thermal expansion from a closed system. Water expands as its heated and tries to flow back into the water main. But sometimes a pressure reducing valve is installed or a local plumber code requires a check valve at the water meter to prevent contamination of the fresh water supply. In these cases an expansion tank will be required. A large volume of extremely hot water sporadically released indicates an overheat condition caused by a faulty thermostat that fails to shut off the heat source after the set temperature is reached. An overheat condition on an electric unit can also occur if a heating element shorts to the sheathing near the center such that it continues to heat with 120V to the grounded tank, but offers enough resistance to limit the current draw below the breaker rating, or if the thermostat is not flush with tank such that it cannot accurately sense temperature.
Yes sir! It's been a good 2 months. I was by myself at my property for a month & just been so busy at work I've been too tired to edit & upload any videos. But my tech is back now so I can start editing & uploading my videos I have recorded. I will be posting on a weekly basis like I was doing. Other than Christmas/New Years, I'm going to put out 2 videos a week, sometimes it may be more or just 1. But there will be consistent content coming out. Thanks for watching bro & good talking with you! 🛠️👍
