    Hi, Thank you for your video, it caught my eye as have the same tool. The way you extended it saves me having to use a pole, which would move the holder away from the pulley slightly! I don't think the pins are long enough or tool needs milling as can see the locating body hitting the ribs. Further more, the socket I bought is 80mm long which isn't long enough, if I add a 50mm extension then I will have to remove the fan. Original pulley and new one are both genuine Mercedes parts. With that tool it looks like I need a 100mm socket (that I can't find anywhere) or a shallow socket with a 50mm extension which I'm reluctant to use

    • @fatherandsonfix
      @fatherandsonfix 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      You're welcome and thanks for your comment that may help others. You may need to mill the edges of the tool to get it to sit deeper in the pulley. Yes, I understand the stubby extension may be a little sketchy. We used a deep impact socket 75mm long with a breaker bar. It could be we had just the right size. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

      @@fatherandsonfixThanks again, took no time at all, just needed to remove the four torx screws on the back of the fan and remove it, to give a little more room as needed 100mm to clear the tool before attaching the breaker bar, I guess the tool and or engines vary. Mines a CL500 face-lift

    A lot of time the "dirt" on the lensif its an active printer is 95% just toner powder thats blown out or fall out onto the lens. Remove all 4 toners in my example a little love and easy does it with the air nozzle from the compressor and a few puffs of air on each of the 4 lenses, in my case that sit directly under each toner and good as new!

    • @fatherandsonfix
      @fatherandsonfix 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Good advice! Compressed air is a great way to start and can save from more disassembly. For heavily used printers or those with difficult to access mirrors, sometimes a little more love is needed :)

    Is it possible to have the engine running smoothly despite a bad Crankshaft position sensor? On my CLK the engine is sweet and no ignition faults on diagnostics scanner BUT there's an intermittent problem with cutting out whilst idling and occasionally not engaging ignition when you turn the key. I just thought if the CPS was bad the engine might be misfiring ... any thoughts please?

    • @fatherandsonfix
      @fatherandsonfix หลายเดือนก่อน

      The engine can run smoothly for the most part and still have a bad CPS. We had no indication from the engine in terms of rough idling when it happened to us recently. If you are troubleshooting rough idle and no start, the CPS replacement is a good first step even if it's not throwing a code. Your symptoms could also be due to an intermittent connection on the ignition circuit, bad coil, etc. We would replace the CPS first, then see if the problem continues and troubleshoot further. Of course we don't recommend throwing parts at issues, but there is correlation here and the part is relatively inexpensive.

    I have a 2001 SLK 320 and, although not identical in layout, pretty similar. Less room for me for sure to do what I need to do yet, but your video is very helpful. I forgot about dielectric grease! And I have the right tool and socket. My deal is that I have to get the electrical connection to release and there is so so very little room to get my fingers on it the right way to release that I think. But I'll try again after my apt AC stops my sweating from today's very humid rainy hot northern Virginia July weather.

    • @fatherandsonfix
      @fatherandsonfix หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, same engine, much tighter fit in the SLK chassis. For the electrical connector sometimes it helps to hold a flat head screw driver in your hand and use that to push down on the clip. It can get you an extra 1-2 inches in a tight spot. Of course, be careful because that plastic is brittle. It's cooking here too. We just did an oil change last week and started about two hours before sundown so it was a little cooler!

    Thanks... Liked, Subscribed. I'm hoping you may advise me on a problem... I am getting 2 vertical narrow, 75mm wide faint strips on my 11x17 color prints on my HP M750 laser printer. I've replaced the toners, inspected everything, done cleaning cycles, etc... and it persists. It seems as if it is the black that is the omitted color in the 2 strips of faintness. The strips of faintness edges are not abrupt. It seems to have started after the printer took 2 pieces of paper in a printing cycle and they were staggered, one a bit ahead of the other. The fuser was loosened and the pages pulled out. It printed perfectly prior to the incident... if I recall correctly. Any ideas for me?? Is the actual laser itself dirty? It is driving me crazy. Thanks again... Very appreciated...

      @@fatherandsonfix Thank you. Appreciated it. The printer is relatively low page count... Couldn't figure it being something so protected as the led or mirrors. The "windows" are covered by a scissor contracting cover which do not move for cleaning. I attempted to blow it out with a duster can and will run a test Monday. But, one thing I hadn't swapped out is the fuser unit, which is where I pulled a double page draw from when this problem started. I have a spare old fuser so I'll swap that in, then, too. Thanks again... Very appreciated!

    We must have tempted fate with this one!! Last week we had the crankshaft position sensor error code P0335. This was our wagon and it was sitting in the sun, the first really warm day of the year. No issues starting when we got in. Then, when we got home and attempted to start again to leave, we got the no crank issue. Checked later and pulled this code. Bear in mind, we had already replaced the sensor in our S211 wagon about 50k miles ago with genuine Bosch. The video shows us replacing on our W211 sedan. Thankfully we kept the sensor we replaced in the video as a backup and put it in the wagon last week to keep it going for a few days until the new replacement arrived. Lesson learned, this should be part of preventative maintenance every 40k-50k!!

    I got a 06 cls 500 and it won’t turn over it only cranks I can hear the fuel pump and start working and all electronics work , could it be this sensor that’s making it not start ?

      Yes, especially if it is temperature related.

    Why did you replace the resevoir and did it fix the issue

    • @fatherandsonfix
      @fatherandsonfix 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Preventive maintenance, there's a filter inside, only way to replace the filter is to replace the reservoir. Some people say it quiets the pump, we didn't notice any major difference.

    Honestly, I was sceptical about all this, but I followed through. Luckily my printer is the hp cp1215 which is similar to that and what do you know, IT WORKED!! Thank you so much!!

    Can you deactivate for good? I prefer 100% user controlled braking

    • @fatherandsonfix
      @fatherandsonfix 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No, you must keep it on for safe braking. SBC actually does a lot of amazing things beyond ABS to keep you safe such as dry-brake and preloading when you lift off the accelerator. There are at least two deer and many squirrels that are still around thanks to the SBC on our wagon! :)

      @@fatherandsonfixWhat if somebody doesnt want sbc for drift setup? I dont suppose you would know how to permanent disable?

    • @fatherandsonfix
      @fatherandsonfix หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@thepio14343SWEG For these models that shipped with an SBC unit, you should not permanently disable. That would only leave the backup front brake system which has less capacity and couldn't modulate as easy. You would need a custom brake controller or pump, but there are so many systems tied into the SBC, it may shut down the party before it starts. There would be a lot of coding involved, plus 211s have an issue with the power steering pump at full tilt and high revs. Not the greatest platform for drifting, but we would love to see it!
