I’m usually not a graphics person in games, I’ll play anything if it’s fun, regardless of what it looks like. BUT I am a huge LOTR fan & have been for decades now. I’m excited at how lore accurate this game will likely be.. but even I had that kneejerk reaction of disliking the hobbit character models. They look unappealing & comical and I know it’s gonna ruin my enjoyment of the game 😭

I’m glad I decided to ditch the sims 4 back in 2019-2020. Cause, sorry, I disagree with a lot of things. Restarting with a new game is expensive cause die hard simmers let that to happen. People keep buying every single pack from the sims 4 cause EA keeps splitting content in different packs and making packs that basically works like upgrades for gameplay and mechanics that already are in the base game (who said we needed a wedding pack? That should’ve been an UPDATE). When people keep buying these packs, they’re allowing EA to make the game more greedy and more expensive. Also, the game came out 10 years ago. Everybody restarted every time a new entry came out and bought every expansion, why is people acting like its the first time they buy an entire new sims game with all of its upcoming packs? I don’t believe that’s a good argument. Even if a new game came out, people can still play the sims 4, it is not going anywhere. And lastly, as I said, this game has been supported for 10 YEARS, in 10 years they haven’t done anything with the game but making it worse. What makes people think that the game is going to be fixed any time soon? Everybody says that same argument every year and every year they make even more mistakes with the game and delivers even more uninspired packs, more splitted content, and people complains about new bugs again and again. It’s never going to improve. The sims series is going to die if EA doesn’t make a move QUICK cause there’s already promising new life simulation games, and I got a feeling that with these new games, more developers will make their own life simulation games. The sims will have the same fate as sim city. It’s sad but it’s true. Although we already have amazing spin-offs and 3 amazing main tiltes, and those are not going anywhere

I noticed the same thing. I grew up playing the DS version had. I idea it came in the Wii. I wonder which version are they going to use. I used the the DS but I happy to try the console version. They look different and I think the story is too.

I wish they'll bring back Agents 2 and make "MySims Agents Pack" or something with 1 and 2

no I'm 100% with you on this one when I first initially heard that weta workshop was going to be making a game and saw the trailer I was super excited and then I was absolutely heartbroken and so sad to see that the style they had chosen to go with for the game, as you said they didn't have to go hardcore but even something like Palia style and how the bodies are fully formed, and not chibi while still being cute but also just a little bit more mature, I feel like in this art style you lose a lot of detail and a lot of the beauty of the Lord of the Rings world and it all just looks too slopy messy and polygon-ish

I'm so discouraged by the amount of people mad that there are black characters in this game. Saying that DEI is ruining games when this is just a cozy life sim. I literally cannot believe how comfortable people are being openly racist. The only criticism is "why are they shoving black skin down our throats." I don't get it. It breaks my heart.

Need paralives to come out so they have competition in the market. But I'd like a multiplayer mode too, because I always have more fun playing along with friends.

You know, switching from 3 to 4 wasn't jarring just because of the lack of packs, pools and toddlers, the whole game was a step backward. Small neighborhoods of a couple lots instead of full open towns, only a couple community lots instead of all the basic services, disappearing off-screen to work instead of going to a rabbit hole, no color wheel or pattern customization... I'm not saying these are absolutely essential to a life sim, but they were things we had in 3 that 4 just dropped. The only things that are unequivocally better in 4 are CAS and Build mode. Back in the day, when I switched from 2 to 3, it was a bit jarring to lose all my packs, but the base game was such a technical improvement in my eyes, and was so promising, that I didn't think twice about it.

cant cancel something that never was. Project Rene ALWAYS said they were adding new features that would CO EXIST w sims4 THEY never not once advertised sims 5. Never happened. Project Rene director even did interviews discussing the plan they always said what it was. So really, stop with the trolling sims5 is cancelled nonsense.

I think they tested the waters on creating new, story-based sims games when they released Strangerville. I'm excited to see what they come up with! A couple of the potential packs they pitched in the survey align with the idea off story-based spin off games (like the Sims 2 console story ones, or the psp ones!)

Look up Weta’s mini epics vinyl figures (AKA Funko Pop competitors). You’ll understand where the art style comes from.

See I'm a big fan of rereleases! It helps to preserve old games in a way when the older consoles inevitably fail. It keeps a little bit of gaming history alive. Games are meant to be played and I'm happy they are not lost to time.

I can't wrap my head around the controls on the computer version but I have been playing the Android version for several months. I grew tired of it but picked it up again because of you! I am about to go into year 4 and I have yet to marry, unlock the island, or even go into the Skull Cavern! Heck, I have yet to unlock the sewer!

Regarding community testing, I definitely don’t think it should replace QA however, I do think that it is important to get feedback outside of the corporate bubble.

I had MySims on DS. It looks so different to the wii version and the trailer. But is it the same game? I was so hyped up when I first got the news but then I watched the trailer and it looks like a different game with the house exterior decorating and camera perspective

I just want to say thank you for the nostalgia trip and it’s made me break out my GameCube for old times sake! Your videos are addicting to see how a lot of these games I never even finished before unfold. If everyone always listened carefully, the Sims 5 was never a thing to begin with. It was always "Project Rene" and always caused so much confusion. I don't think EA ever confirmed they were working on a new stand alone Sims game, but rather expanding their multiplayer and collaborative functionalities. Its unfortunate that they were never properly clear with their language and made everyone assume a Sims 5 was coming.

I don’t go to the Sims 4 anymore, but I’m begging on my hands and knees for EA to just let the game die. Please. The code base is so old, every new pack and expansion breaks the game, major issues still aren’t being fixed, and they’d probably have more success financially just making Sims 5.

If they keep adding more content to TS4 its never going to be this bugless game that runs perfectly. Adding so much broken content on top of broken content is what causes the bugs in the first place.

Yeah, I'm skipping this game. If a company that can create the VFX for Lord of the Rings makes something that looks like this, they clearly aren't putting any heart into it at all. I've also heard rumours that they are not paying attention to the lore so they can change anything they want. Which is just awful. It's just a rumour, though. I'll guess this game will be Dead On Arrival. A few hundred to a few thousand players at most, and it will just drop from there.

Imagine wanting hobbits to be sexy/mature looking. The whole point is that they are a simple looking people to fall in line with the message that it's the common, everyday folk that make the world worth fighting for. As per the author's experience in WW2. Great video, but as a fan of Tolkien's books and life that threw me for a loop.
