The main goal of these videos is to present the Scottish Highland bagpipe in the best possible way in picture and sound playback through PC and mobile devices. All recordings are without manipulation, only reference is the human ear. The sound experience is the same as I hear when I play - and not as an audience. Born in 1962 and after a 20 year break I bought myself a new set of pipes. "DUNCAN MACRAE SL10 STERLING SILVER BAGPIPE" 2019. Setup: Ezeedrone Drone Reeds (inverted Bass). Canmore Hybrid Zipper Bag. Ross Canister System. Hardie Infinity Blackwood with G1 Platinum Reed. Ceol McCallum Blackwood with Shepherd ridge cut reed.

Pipe Major Iain Morrison & Leading Drummer Alex Duthart. Copenhagen Denmark 1981
Alex Duthart pioneered a new style of pipe band drumming at a time when pipe bands were becoming more adventurous in their musical selections. He was also known for his drum salutes, introducing elements such as back-sticking and stick clicking to pipe band drumming.

This unique private recording of Pipe Major Iain Murdo Morrison in Copenhagen 1981 is made on a Revox stereo tape recorder. I myself was present and sat 2 feet from his chanter. As far as I know, not a single photo exists from Iain's 2 concerts in Copenhagen. Everyone was paralyzed!

According to the always very touching and moving mention of the legendary Pipe Major Iain Murdo Morrison on the Internet, I now feel an increasing responsibility to pass on some of the impressions he left when he visited Copenhagen in 1981 and 1984. He is always remembered by the way he interpreted, among other things, 6/8 marches. I will therefore come up with an obvious example that fits well...

It is a beautiful classical style instrument and easy to reed. Absolutely no problems and the rest is up to you and your blowing. Mine is pure silver and bought direct from Stuart Liddell. Buying an old one with ivory is foolish today due to legislation as you are not allowed to resell it.

I use regular Ezeedrone in the tenors and Henderson Harmonic Deluxe Bass Drone Reed. The chanter is McCallum CEOL Blackwood Chanter.
