Fossils can be good, but not in Articuno. Also the opponent with the old amber should’ve discarded it against Victreebel

I've had success against enemies with high turn decks with victreebel + arbok. Arbok can stomp early too. You basically control whoever you're fighting the whole time. Often enemies put a tank and don't give it energy expecting me to kill but it buys time for vic to come out. Then when its out, u put vic out, switch their ex pokemon in, then arbok to stop them retreating and finish off 2 points :)

I've been rubbing this deck the last few weeks and it's pretty consistent. Even when it's not you can still depend on a mid game eggy to bail you out or at least stall.

You sometimes mention the need for more than 4 basics to increase probability to hit your basics. Is it more acceptable in a deck like this where we have the eggs that are powerful, low energy pokemon? Or is this also considered "greedy"?

I'm using a similar version of this, with 1x venomoth as my plant Weezing and two caterpies so I can find my victreebell asap. I've been having a good time with it!

People need to stop suggesting red card, even at 1. There's no world in which you have better odds with a red card than you do with double Gio/double Sabrina. Statisically red card is a waste, the subreddit did calculations that prove this.

Marowak makes Promo Mankey/Primeape WAY too slow and rng based which isn't ideal imo. Kabutops, Heliolisk or even Dugtrio are WAYYY better.

Ive been messing with this one and haven't had much luck with it. Granted I fight a lot of Fire decks. But I seem to have problems curving out to victreebell . Maybe it's just bad luck.

I wonder if you can use a liligant variant for people who don't have Exeggutor EX

Having played this deck I feel like the victreebel takes too long to come online. The ability isn’t able to yoink the evolved pokemon and there’s some redundancy if your draws don’t curve perfectly

Made a very similar deck to dick around with and as I would drag basics to the bench to destroy I was super surprised at how busted it could feel. Only have 2 Executor evolves so I don't have the 3rd for redundancy.

I've been running this from roughly the start! I have potions instead of base Exeggutor tho I love getting opponents into a checkmate where no matter what they do I win lol

I think Pikachu will always be a viable strategy for the live time of the game. It can be frustrating now to deal with Pikachu but as more cards and expansions come out, we can expect natural a swears to appear. I don't know if it needs a nerf just now.

What I saw in the last week of playing the game doesn't mesh with what you've said. Almost half of my opponents were Mewtwo/Guardivoir. Of the rest they were fairly evenly split between Koga Dark, Articuno 18T, and PicachuEX/ZapdosEX. The deck I usually played is the last as I have the cards for it. A rising deck is MoltresEX/ArcanineEX (noted in the video). Articuno 18T is likely to die out as it's so much a gimmick deck. I actually had a match where the other person quit on TURN 1 because Misty predictably failed. StarmieEX may be taking its place, or at least supplementing it. What it looks like to me is that people are mostly looking for ways to get more energy as early as possible. This is compounded that there's only a couple of cards that remove energy, and nobody uses them. This may change if Energy Removal and Item Finder get introduced. Until then, Mewtwo will reign supreme.

Yeah, I've been playing this deck for awhile. Highly underrated. I like to run one Giovanni for that extra 10 damage, been seeing a decent amount of the Dragons deck

Pikachu still wins a good bit, but my three decks so far use fighting type. two of those hve dark for coverage against mewtwo but pikachu is still the toughest deck to face imo

This deck slaps or whips..which ever you prefer. I’m wondering though how it doesn’t against say Arcanine or Zard ramp. I’ve yet to face those decks on “ladder”

Also, fossils don't give points in the original tcg, right?

Does sabrina and fragrance trap stack? Just wanted to know because we can only retreat once right? Dunno if this counts as a retreat per se

I had pretty good luck with mankey/primeape + Kabuto. However, your win rate is almost entirely determined by getting a turn 2 start, and getting primeape down on turn 4. If you can do those two things you’ve got a pretty decent win percentage

I've been playing this deck over the last couple of days and I think it might be my favourite. Good early aggression, lots of meaningful decisions regarding energy usage, and an awesome ability that allows it to compete with the big three EX decks. One of the best showcases for Pocket.

Whoa, I didn't realize Victreebel lets its owner choose the target! That makes it way better. Will need to mess around with this card soon.

I sleeper lightning deck for me is 2x pikachu ex, zapdos ex, zapdos and then 2x eevee + jolteon. It helps me strategize what I wanna put out and use. Sometimes I’ll do the electrode other times I like using snorlax. Just a bulky dude to tank some hits until I set up my bench 👍

I think it’s a little early for a nerf on anything. New sets on the horizon could really change up the meta in big ways. Pikachu is dominant but not unbeatable, but with such a small card pool for the meta to pull from I think waiting to see what happens once we have more options is the right play. There’s always going to be a best deck and best card, if after a set or two comes out and pikachu is still obviously the best thing going on, maybe we look at a nerf then.
