4 Leg Day with an Inoperative APU Bleed | Airbus FO | Real-Time Challenges in Flight Ops!
Join me for a packed day of flying as I tackle four legs on the Airbus, navigating from Philadelphia (PHL) to Charlotte (CLT), Charlotte to Cleveland (CLE), and back again. As if a multi-leg day wasn’t challenging enough, we’re faced with an inoperative APU bleed and unexpected Minimum Equipment List (MEL) items that keep things interesting.
In this video, you’ll get an inside look at real-time decision-making as we manage bad weather, MEL restrictions, and operational complexities on each leg. Watch as I explain how we adapt to an inoperative APU bleed, ensuring safety and efficiency while keeping everything on track.
As a First Officer on the Airbus, I'm here to show you the unfiltered reality of daily flight operations, with tips and insights that’ll give you a deeper understanding of what pilots handle behind the scenes. Don’t forget to like, subscribe, and hit the notification bell for more aviation adventures and behind-the-scenes insights!

She is going through it @ 11:38 "You expect me to answer my phone every time you call me?" Ma'am use your inside voice
Very good video Jersey, the other day you were at the control in NY and did the ATC online and I received your instructions with my flight ups 5111. Very good you friend, shows that you love aviation in every way, whether in real life or virtual, congratulations!
deeeeeeeeeeeparture
This sounds like flying from SF to SMF
Wow! I was very impressed with the setup. Good one, sir! Just signed up for observing, and I hope to see you in the sim soon!
great video on the VOR6 into MJX. i see you are using the iPad on the yoke- which iPad do you have and which bracket system are you using to hold it in place. thanks
Hey where’s the day 'in' the life of a pilot videos ????? I miss them so much ?""……
Argggggg I can't take it anymore..,everyone switch to 122.8 😅😅
Absolutely LOVE these videos, such great insights. Please keep making them!
I just heard a pilot that I watched in a previous video ))
amazing job joe, so incredibly amazed!
holy crap i didnt think id originally win, gg to all to those who contributed and amazing controlling from you joe!
What time do you typically do ATC ?
Love the streams, could you do a video on how you setup for vatsim and journey to become New York Center
Yes I agree. It would be a cool little series
To whoever gave me a gift membership, thank you.
hey, very well done setup, would you be able to let me know wat software you are using for the radar scope ?
Your back it’s been a while thanks for the great content 🎉
I was impressed last time with your service and now seeing in it here is just is just impressive! Thank you
I wish i had your frontal lobes. Impressive
UR insane! this was very enjoyable to watch.
I’ve refused every APU(electric) inop aircraft for the past 8 years. 319, 320 and 321s. No bleed is ok if it’s cold outside. YMMV 🙂
The problem with Vatsim is that they exaggerate everything! No need to speak that much
Can I fly in multiplayer without talking to ATC? I don’t have the vocabulary to understand anything you are saying
This is super interesting to me as I am in the Frontier Cadet program and working my ratings. There are a few other cadets in the area that would also be interested.
4 leg day with inop APU that sounds like the universe telling me to take the day off 🤣🤣
Sun country?
Looks like Frontier based on the clues I picked up
Spirit?
where did you get your zebra printer?
Hey man, I remember when I first started vatsim I was talking to you on ground or center, I was so stupid that time. Thanks for being patient with me as I ask for your forgiveness for all the times I was so stupid😂
Brilliant Joe to see where you have got to over last few years due to your hard work. Great insight and great video mate.
Thanks for documenting your day, super fun to watch
Awesome video! How does the cart start procedure work? Do you put one engine on at the gate with the cart, then you push and start the other one with the crossbleed?
This was rad! Cool to see insight into everyday operations and challenges that the general public doesn't know about!
I was a passenger on a plane with an APU issue. We had to sit on the runway at Heathrow for about 3 hours, which meant that anyone who was connecting in Charlotte missed their connection. There should be a way for pilots on int'l flights to communicate with Border Patrol in the receiving airport to let them know about a delay so Border Patrol can be more prepared for that because we had about 300 souls on board and only a couple of Border Patrol people checking passports.
When are you going to be on vatsim
Another day, another vlog, another amazing piece of aviation pie 🎉
Hello, I have just seen a video from a fellow you tuber on the msfs and you were the atc, I just wanted to let you know that you were amazing. Controlling 40 planes by yourself was great, I just had to subscribe to your channel. I'm sorry if I have the terminology wrong, I'm just getting into the flight sim world
I love this video, I love the A321neo
do you get paid
@JerseyAviator Wow!!! I am impressed!!! I saw AFP95’s video, and I saw his shout out of you, so I figured I would check you out. This is the best work I’ve ever seen in VATSIM. I’ve always wondered to play on VATSIM, but I only have an Xbox, and it unfortunately will not work on there. Sometimes, you just have to result with what you have. Keep up the good work, and I will definitely be watching more of your videos after today! Keep up the good work, and God bless.
Damn Brother you are beyond amazing.
This is awesome, I'm glad you're still posting. Subscribed! :)
love these type of videos. all i would say is how many keyboards you gone through 😆
Hey there, is the radar being used here integrated with CRC or a separate application
Totally awesome work. Well done! - CFII
