Nice design! Cant see how ist mounted to the X-rail with the orginal voron plate or dirctly to the X- carriage block for the rail and where does the belts go?

Hey Mamsih i would really want to upgrade my printer with this mod, but i didnt found the carriage mounting on bondtech website like you said 4 months ago. Is it possible to ask you for those files, or maybe you know when it will be realased somewhere? I can pay you for those files i just really need some upgrade to print tpu materials with higher speed and light version of extruder etc. and it seems to be the best option for that.

Do you still use this hotend on any printer? Did you print large PLA models with it? You didn´t answer the other question about PLA so asume it clogs with PLA?

Would you need to recalibrate the PID everytime you do this?

The Autofocus did you dirty :D Depending on the camera u have, u can lock the autofocus.

Have you figured out how to make the firmware changes? I modified parts the fit everything, don’t care too much about the filament sensor but I can’t figure out how to edit the files to change motor current, step angle and gear ratio

how does the z tilt working? There is a potential issue if 2 motors wiring up to one stepper. Can you explain how this scenario works?

Hey I dunno if you have done a thorough comparison in quality vs a stock mini, but would you be interested in doing so? I've actually bought all the materials from your parts list from your post for this build on prusa printables- so believe me when I say I'm very interested in your build! However, since actually owning my mini for a little while, I'm noticing a couple things in your benchy. It has a lot of horizontal banding lines, presumably from inconsistent extrusion from upgrading to direct drive. I don't have any such ugly banding on prints from my completely stock machine using stock settings. I was largely interested in direct drive upgrade to decrease stringing- but in all honesty, your benchy looks to have more stringing than what I'm seeing stock. The build looks awesome, and I can't tell too much just from a couple pictures of a benchy.... But it kinda seems like the print quality is lower after the rebuild. Would you be interested in doing a comparison video to a stock machine to more fully elaborate on print quality differences? Again, I'm very interested in your build. I even have all the parts! But since actually looking at results it's starting to look like a lot of work for worse prints. Would love to see a more detailed video on results. Thanks!

I hate to say this, but your test prints look significantly worse than stock prints. They not only seem to have more stringing, but they also have a lot of banding which I've never seen in any of my stock prints. Do you have anything a little bit more definitive on whether this mod really provides significant improvements in print quality? Thanks!

Your x belt isn’t horizontal that creates uneven loads depending on the position of the extrudiertes on the x axis. You might want to customize the bear x ends to your needs…

Very nice design, I like it. Sadly Llama firmware developement came to an end with Buddy version 4.3.3, as the programmer sold his mini. There are two tricks if you want to use unchanged Buddy firmware 4.3.4 instead: 1. Put the black wire of the coldend fan to permanent ground (f.e. to J21 Pin2). With a silent noctua fan it does not matter the hotend fan is always on. What matters is it spins with 100% than (not 38% like on hotend fan socket) 2. I use a 74HC00 to invert filament runout signal (both inputs of a nand connected to use it as pure inverter) Of course a Bear Mini build is a cool fun project - economicly it is questionabe, as a clone Mini and a clone mk3s bear are only about 120€ in price difference. If you add the parts to do the mini bear upgrade, price is higher than building an Bear mk3s. I for myself thing about converting an old Rencforce RF100 to a Mini. Thats a very rigid smal printer (cube, bed moving z, acrilic encloasure, bed 150by150 but only usable 100by100, board with A4988 soldered 8bit), so I think upgrading it with parts of a mini clone might be a good idea (esp. the electronics and the bed).
