    Thank you for the tutorial. I was following along until it was time to put the components on the 2D PCB. There is a bug in the personal version of Autodesk Fusion...I messed with it for 20 minutes almost gave up and got it to work by using the keyboard arrow keys and enter key!!!!!! Using the mouse to drag gave me an error that said I needed to purchase a full license copy.

    Can anyone tell me where I can download for free, high resolution quadrant instrument gauges for printing ? As it is for decoration purposes, I would like a 60's or 70's cockpit panel (without screen avionics - just round). intrument gauges). My panel Will have 70 cms length. There's an important detail. The instrument gauge cannot have the Pointer. Just the layout or the raw quadrant. Thanks.

Thank you for the time you take to make your videos and sharing your building ideas, they do really help greatly at least in my case (the multi-position switch converted to a potentiometer trick and the led strip backlight just to mention a few). @@aHornetsNest Hi Scott, I have made my own button box using STM 32 blue pill boards and flashed with Freejoy firmware. I have some encoders which have left/right rotation and a push button. However, I have a problem with my encoders which sometimes give a the reverse button press signal when rotating in one direction or the other. The Freejoy configurator allows for different encoder settings (like 1x, 2x, 4x and timer settings) but I still get the same problem. I suspect it could be the quality of the Ali Express encoders I bought. Does the Openhornet project use encoders and if so, do they recommend a brand or type and supplier ? Alternatively, do you know of any high-quality encoders which you would recommend which may solve the problem ?

    • @aHornetsNest
      @aHornetsNest หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@speedbird8326 ooo interesting, sounds like its getting some noise, or a debouncing issue. For it to work normal, but get spurious miss reads, means that it either a bad signal (try resoldering or check pin connections), or using a capacitor to help filter noise, or debounce in the software. I haven't used freejoy, do they allow you to add a tiny delay? PEC11R-4220F-S0012 is the product number for the rotaries used in the UFC on the OH build. Saying that though, I haven't had too many issues with Ali stuff, but could just be a dud if everything above doesn't work Let me know how you go

    • @speedbird8326
      @speedbird8326 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@aHornetsNest Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately almost all the encoders have the issue. There are delay settings and debounce settings within the Freejoy interface and I have played with them to no avail. Anyway, I'll see if the connections are good and maybe swap the encoders for the Bourns type.

    Hey mate, I'm having some trouble understanding something. How do you attach those switches to the panel? I don't understand where the nut is screwed in. I'm following your first video tutorial on how to design my cockpit and I already 3D printed my top and back panel but I don't understand where to mount the switches. Where should that little circle and the nut be placed?

    • @aHornetsNest
      @aHornetsNest หลายเดือนก่อน

      hey mate thanks for the comment! so the switches itself in this example are attached to the actual "panel" itself, so in this case it would be the Electrical panel on the hornet, and the nut and 'registration' key attach to its base panel, then this circuit board attaches to that panel through the use of standoffs to create a module. you can though create 12mm holes in the circuit board itself and mount directly. Hope that clarifies it, if not let me know 🤙🏼

    • @Viper.Maverick
      @Viper.Maverick หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@aHornetsNest thanks man, it helped me a bit, but I still cant understand it all. In your first. Video you made 12mm holes in the panel itself and 17mm holes in the back panel to mount the switch. I think I understood where the nut is supposed to go but I still can't figure out where that little ring should go.

    • @aHornetsNest
      @aHornetsNest 24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Ah I see, you can either use the ring with the registration pin on, or take it off and use the notch I use the notch instead … and that is build into the base plate with the 12mm hole
