2022 Mowing Setup (Equipment Tour Part 3)
Just bought a Z1 and a Z3X and I’m really impressed with both machines. Transferred to stand up and seems like a great choice. Cut’s better than my diesel John Deere.
Not that popular in my area, but I’m a fan. Ordering a new one 52”tomorrow and just bought the 36” z1 3 weeks ago. Comfortable, stable and good cut quality.
Ferris has the best suspension, and comfortable ride
How are you liking this unit? I’m in Nashville too
How do like the 48
At over $18,000 I’m not sure where you’re getting great bang for the buck anymore. Especially for a homeowner that has a lot of acreage.
Have you leveled your deck? In order to get mine at 4 inches in the front, the right front turnbuckle has almost 1/2 inch more thread showing than the left front.
16000#trailer plus your cargo, you have your CDL?
1 yr later how ya liking it? Heard the new Z3X’s after Covid are having issues🤔
you say that smallest saw is "super powerful" but you want teeth on it to get "more power". How much power do you need?? It's already apparently super powerful 🤷♂️
Ever use it to remove tree stumps ? Thinking bout renting one at my Home Depot for removing some stumps .
Have you noticed it not cutting that great? Only have 30 hours on mine and it just misses too much grass in my opinion. Mine has the 60 inch deck and thought about trying some XHT blades but not sure that will make much of a difference. The blades are a 1/4 lower in the front so I don't know what else can be done. Waste of money to not be able to use the mower the way it was designed with the suspension.
This mower is a supreme machine and it will mow acerage fast and smooth I love mine and it is way cheaper than any exmark on the market and it will not raise up on hill like the exmark fuel consumption is superb indeed smooth ride and supreme cut no scalpo marks what so ever
Is that 3" or 4' walls?
Does your 72” scalp on rough lawns? I run the 52” Z3X and I haven’t scalped a lawn yet
You answered this towards the end of the video! Lol
I have a 52 z3x too...560 hours and I have enough electrical problems to say I can not recommend and never the less I would never buy again.
This was awesome!
Your opinion about dealers not being motivated to fix your equipment if you didn't buy from them is completely baseless. Dealers don't make money off the sale, they make money off their service department. So whether they sell you a piece of equipment makes no difference to them if you're bring it in for service. The only issue they may have is if the dealer you bought it from had a special service offer (i.e. oil changes for life) which they won' t honor. The fuel fill is intentional because it gets people to open the hood which will hopefully get them to check the fluids. A lot of machines are like this now. You know the Kubota has a feature where you can load it while not standing on the machine, right?
I just got one a few months ago and I love it. In my opinion, it is the best designed mini skid on the market. Although not the most powerful. I work on my own equipment so the fact that the engineering had mechanics in mind makes me feel like the purchase was worth it
I got a snapper pro 200 xt last year thats a 61" with the 37 vanguard. I gotta agree with you on everything that you're saying. Mine cuts great in dry, damp, and wet grass. I took out the turbo baffle and it cut even better. The guys that cuts the area at my job uses scags and i am not impressed by them. Maybe they are in a hurry.. maybe they need sharper blades.. i don't know. I know that i would put my snapper right there with them.
Like the looks of this bigger model, hydraulic dump is nice, but the smaller unit dumps pretty easy. Obviously better dumping down hill. I did a little modification to double the capacity of my YD8103 model.👍 th-cam.com/users/shortsXamHjhOPH9M?si=xRDomnD4kuVXf7t0
I was about to buy one of these but I ended up with a U25. Awesome machine also.
What made you buy U25 instead of this ?
I had the same problem around with the front cylinder just dropping under load. I took it the my dealer and they adjusted a valve didnt have to order and parts
what thumb you have on the u17
Where did you get the how hitch for the mower? I gave a Z2 but on 500 hours.
I just picked up a Ferris Z1 brand new and like it so far. Just found your channel and have 2 questions....Do you have a link to the Front mount Hitch Kit you have on the Z1? And how do you like the ammo box mounted there, and what do you use it for? thanks!
You can find the hitch kits at Ballard inc
.. odd question would a dirtbike helmet fit in the toolbox?
I’m getting the 2475 April 10. Upgrading to this from a Lawnaire iv aerator
Hey man are you going to be buying the new Redmax ebz 9000 backpack blower has 1245 cfm and it is coming out in May of this year
Texas pride might fix it if you reach out to them
Cool truck🎉
how does the z1 with chute blocker mulch? does it do a fine job and give a sweet cut?
Chute blocker works good if it is a lot of grass it will leave clumps as it try’s to push grass out of the flap
cut quality? how does it compare to exmark , etc
Cuts just as good as a ex mark in my opinion
Texas Pride "was" my last backup if I could not get the specifications that I want from PJ, Suretrac, Lamar or BigTex for a certain price. Now I know why Texas Pride is usually less expensive. The quality on that dump floor welds is just unacceptable. I think that I will pay more to get a better quality trailer. DiamondC would be nice but they are too pricey.
Have you looked into a company called Belmont trailers out of Leola PA? Pretty good and 5 year warranty
Are you still in business?
Yes
Did you ever get the power issue figured out? I ran one and really liked the controls and comfort but didn’t get to test out the power really.
Yep I did it is working fine now
Over the past 61 years we've had Simplicity and Gravely tractors and Cub Cadet zero turn mowers along with Toro push mowers. This past fall I bought a Ferris FW15 to deal with the steep hills and tight quarters on the family owned properties I mow. One of the properties is impossible to mow with a ride on machine of any type... I looked at pretty much every 21"-36" commercial mower available and the features, build quality and robustness of the Ferris sold me... The wide tires, hydro static drive and caster wheels make is very easy to maneuver with excellent traction on the steep hills, congested areas, and soft areas.
got 2200 120 hours for sale
You can up the pressure on the thumb. I have the U17 and an Amulet thumb. The thumb says to set to a particular pressure, I forget what it is, but when the hydraulic shop installed the plumbing for mine the pressure was 2000lbs and I told them to leave it there. I cut trees down and use the U17 to load the cut up trunks into the dump trailer and it does a great job, I never have to keep applying pressure on the foot control when picking something up.
That's pitiful build quality thanks for showing I'm about to buy 3 dump trailers and they are out of consideration
Hey man I was looking at getting a mini skid steer as I mostly do sod. Obviously if this thing did the trick(just for hauling this Sod from pallet to yard) it would save a lot of money. What would be your thoughts on that?
Of your starting out the yard max is a good option. If you can afford I would get a skid
Thanks for the input. How long have you had the yard max does it seem pretty durable
@@lannycox4931you can buy 4 of these for a fraction of the price of a mini skid. For the same amount, You can have 4 guys with these machines hauling sod back and forth knocking it out super fast, plus plenty of money leftover for a dump trailer, and that STILL won’t add up to the price of a darn skid lol they’re soooo expensive. I’m looking into importing machines from China that are comparable for a fraction of the cost
I’m not gonna lie your voice don’t match you
I got the bobcat MT 100. I thought you said bobcats have lotta issues, yet you’re the one with the issue, that seems like a real issue having the front cylinder not having the power that it should. You should’ve bought the bobcat, I’ve had zero issues with it. It’s a beast. Thanks for the video though.
So since I have one issue with a machine it means immediately I should have a bought a different brand? I don’t care what brand model or make of a machine every once in while some one will get a one that has major issues minor issues or no issues in the beginning. I’m not a fan of the newer bobcat machines solely because of other peoples experience with them. On paper they are good innovative machines but I hear nothing but bad thing about them. The older bobcats I think are fine. There MTs and smaller excavators I think are fine as well but not the best in my opinion. I do think bobcat is innovating a lot with there technology on their machines though. But to each their own.
A big plus is that the Kubota had a Kubota engine just like the bobcat mt100 same engine so why buy bobcat and have to still deal with bobcat getting parts from Kubota
it's about $48,000 at my dealer thats included 2 different buckets, forks, grapple, forks, jackhammer, power rake and trailer @@smackdown763
Ditchwitch is best
Yes we have 4 mt100 and only had a few problems around 1900hrs. And that was changing the main belt cuz you need to pull the motor and putting new tracks on it around 800hrs. That’s an all day job with touches more more torches. Yep. The bolt get rusty and it’s a hard job. But over all we love our bobcats and yes I have demo a Kubota and it was way to squirrelly. Almost died. Never used a ditchwitch but heard great things about them.
I would suggest getting a dedicated stump grinder. That's what I did, I'm not a fan of the stump grinder attachment
For grading with the SCL 1000, you can't beat a CMP Hydra Bucket... It is a smooth bucket with the Harley Rake style drum in the back corner... Back drag with the drum bringing the dirt with you in float mode and it does a great job... I have it on my mine and its a time saver... The Kubota buckets were having trouble digging so I purchased a Berlon low profile with weld on teeth and replaceable tips... That too is a day and night difference in digging... It is longer and can carry more material than the 36' Kubota bucket... Maybe one day a will take videos and put them on here...
I've had my U17 for over 2 years and love it. I work it to death
Hey man, I watched your review on the U17 as well and I’m still not sure which one is best for my first machine. I primarily do hard scape and landscape installs. If you got any advice on which one is best to get first that would be much appreciated!
If your doing hard scaping I would get the mini skid First. You are going to use it to off load materials move materials etc. Then rent the excavator when you need it until you can afford it.
the u17 and scl and mowers uses same filters and parts plus my kubota dealer services works with customers with differant brands such as kubota, case, holder, caterpillar, vermeers, komatsus, masseys, bobcat, husqavarnas, and other brands wich my kubota dealer services
You pay for what you get man my cousin got the same size trailer but not a goose neck with lower weight capacity and it’s a sure track cost him 16k so same price for a smaller trailer because of the quality
Yardmax 8105
I got one used . Did alot of jobs works excellent 👍
How big are those hedges your cutting with them saws. WOW.
