TRADED THE PLUG FOR A SWIM BAIT
#lingcod #thunderjet #islander #plugs #vancouverisland #swimbait #fishandchips
Went out cod fishing today to look for some lingcod. Using the salmon rods and reels we trolled for lingcod. We dropped the 15 lb cannon ball to the bottom and then brought them back up about 5". We are only allowed 1 lingcod a day at 65cm. As there was only2 of us on the boat we could only keep 2 so that's what we did.

The last fish was 15 lbs on the scale at the cleaning station scale. All 6” plugs . I am sure was more fish to be had but decided one fish each was lots.

AMAZING ORCA SHOW
มุมมอง 1.6K10 หลายเดือนก่อน
#orca #amazing #whales We were out fishing and hooked a fish. Bringing it in we notice a pod of orcas coming our way from behind us . We carried on bringing the fish in and the orcas kept on coming . They swam right past us giving us an awesome show. I know we were to close but there was nothing we could have done to get out of their way. They stayed on the route they where heading!

Enjoy the video I fish prawns close by .you had low count because of the octopus bad luck to keep it :P haha i dont know just blowing smoke .last year i was 380' for them this year 240-280 and they are Jumbo i get 80-120 from my 4 traps over night soak they are large so its worth it i suppose . Good luck keep it fishing
Thanks I have been out twice and both times found the big ones in shallower also. In the years past we would get the limit out there every time but the last few years not. We got a lot of smalls in the traps this time also! Thanks for watching the video and good luck to you out there to .
Not too shabby! 👍
Thank you 🙏
Nice looking prawns 👏👏
Thank you 🙏
Wow ive seen octopus.Nice fresh prawns again yummy yummy
Thank you 🙏
Limits are way too low 😢 I think someone snatched your trap loads!
Thank you 🙏 Yes they sure where low this trip
holy lucky you got that coiler cuz you look like a green horn with that mess of rope in your bucket haha!
Awesome vid as always. Hope to get out there soon
Thank you 🙏 for watching

Thank you 🙏 Your totally right
Perfect day 👏👏
Thank you 🙏
I so wish my gopro didn't automatically shut off at whatever depth it stopped on the way down. Would've loved to see them come in the trap. You forgot the soy sauce and Wasabi! 😁
lol you totally right about the camera. Would be so cool to watch what goes on in the trap down there. They guys didn’t seem to miss the sauces . They are actually very sweet raw 🦐
Cool video thanks for sharing that, sure miss it there
Thanks for watching are you coming to the Island this summer
@@RichDueck I’m hoping to but still not sure yet.
The last trap on the line gets bounced around and the prawns get spooked. Add more weight to make it fish as well as the first trap.
Thanks for your comment. I need to put weight infront of the traps and after the second one.I am blowing fuses already and thinking the puller may have problems pulling it
Wow fresh prawns lucky day and sure whole day enjoyed guys❤❤❤❤
Thank you we ate some and where so good
That's when the big plugs seem to work the best when the herring are big.
That's good to know I like all the mylar plugs have had good luck with 403 404 and epically the 408 tomic in both 5 inch and 7 inch
The herring in the last few fish where 7 “ long
I've got the 403 tomic
There were the plug to beat this winter.
I might have the 403. Or it's the one with actual green mylar inside.
What brand of plugs are you using? I fish the great lakes and we usually just fish plugs in late August. Awesome video and love the music!!!
We use the tomic plug. They make all different colors that will match the water and the light .
Why do you use them their fly pole reels, I tried them knuckle busters one season they got put on the too much work list when your thick in the fish it just takes too much time to real in 1:1 ratio compared like Shimono level wind 5:1.
Hahaha Fishing is never to much work lol . I use the pin reels for Halibut. I love the single action reels for the fight of the fish . Thanks for watching and hope you’re catching lots of fish.
Nice sharing dear friend 👌👍👌👍👌👍👌👍👌
Thanks for visiting
Thanks for the video. My 3 kids and I recently upgraded from a 12ft Valco to an 18ft Hewescraft. We can now fish the Puget Sound, WA area and I need to try and educate myself on where the salmon will be holding up and what to use. I like the idea of just plugs and no flashers/dodgers. Glad to see its effective... sure hope they can reel in something over 3lbs soon so we stop chasing Kokanee all the time. Tight lines!
Thanks for watching the video . Good luck fishing in your new boat
Music is a wee bit annoying
Then mute the sound.

Your video is so good. I checked your channel and saw that your video is not getting views. Because your channel has no Rank SEO and High Rank SEO. Your channel needs High Rank SEO. Then all your videos will get many views and subscriptions
Thank you 🙏 I have no idea how to change that
